I thought Aly won this match. Nick had a nice little non scoring scramble at the end but Aly won every scramble within the match. He always ended up in an advantageous position when they landed out of bounds.

Alex Ramirez Aly was just as aggressive as Nick. Even Danaher had Aly winning until last scramble. But again, that one scramble didn’t outweigh all the previous scrambles Aly won. My opinion. But I’m not a judge

Nicky dominated the hand fighting the whole match and remained the aggressor. He initiated almost all the takedown attempts. Scoring position out of bounds doesn’t mean anything for Aly. So, if you are using ADCC rules then the match is pretty clear.

Maybe you just like watching guys stand around playing patty cake but the rest of us don't. We came here to watch two guys exchange technique, show off their athleticism, and their grappling abilities. This began in 1998 by a Sheik who was in to BJJ with the intent of pitting grappling styles against each other. Once the original point was proven (with submission being the clear victory style) it has long since de-evolved into this generally boring to watch grappling event to fit a rules and points structure.

Simple, start handing out penalties and disqualification for stalling and refusing to attack. This bs is an embarrassment.

It wouldn't happen overnight but if they inventivised take downs more, like allowing the 2 points all throughout the fight then they'd start getting better at wrestling and play a better game standing.

juntjoo nunya I hear you. But what’s to stop Jordan Burroughs hand fighting the whole match, secure 1 takedown, escape, and get the win. Any wrestler can come in and win by points. I don’t think you should reward takedowns because like in MMA when a judge is scoring a round, what’s the point of a takedown if you don’t do anything with it?
