One thing I like is how Chaz's song for moxie fits his character. He knows that Moxie is into musicals and songs, so he sings to him, but he doesn't prepare more than a couple lines and tries (and fails) to wing the rest. It reeks of half assed opportunism, which sums up Chaz pretty well I think. He'll take it if it's easy, and he's willing to put in a small amount of work to increase his chances of success, but he doesn't really think things through or take them seriously. Another example of the same traits is in his note. He planned his scheme and followed through on it decently well, but he still left parts of the plan blank and didn't even clean up the evidence. Everything about him and his plans are skin deep, even his singing.
17:37 Absolutely brilliant, this is what happens when you have a plan for a story AHEAD of time, unlike a LOT of TV shows that make up stuff on the fly and never tie anything together.
I think most of us here understand why this show is so great, even if at times it's hard to say why exactly that is. With Velema recently being a topic of discussion, it kinda hits me why Helluva Boss is so great even amongst the many other shows that are also stand-outs. The thing about Helluva Boss is simply it's not afraid of expressing genuine heartfelt emotion(kinda sad the west is so alleric to this for anything that isn't strictly a drama or romance). Real emotions, real shit that isn't fun or funny but still remains a comedy show. The only other show that I can think of at the moment that hits this balance is Bojack. But even with this comparison Helluva and (most likely Hazbin) give us something we've all dreamed of since we were kids. A cartoon for adults. And I know it sounds like we have that already. And we do, but Helluva feels like all the best parts of children's cartoons: the lovable, memorable, relatable characters, fantastical settings, over the top action, zany energy... all of that but packaged in the form of a show for adults. Because the thing about adults cartoons especially western American cartoons is that we have a long history of shows that have things that wouldn't be considered appropriate for children and yet these shows are often written like they can't allow themselves to be little more than vapid. The best adult cartoons have something more to ofter untill they run too long and just stop being well written. But even the best adult cartoons in the West hardly ever give us a show where the drama, the human experience is half or the full entire reason why we watch the show. Adult shows that want to delve deeper into showing adults being adults with adult problems without being cynical or some kind of satire don't often become poplar or made at all. They often have to disgues themselves as shows for kids and sell those gosh darn toys. And use any other color but red to depict gore. Helluva is amazing because it balances its cynical humor with its heartfelt narrative. The cynicism of the characters or the humor is never used to undercut the message or themes. It's also not just cynical for the sake of being cynical or being "adult." it's a facet of the world that makes perfect sense. And if that weren't good enough, it's also crazy how well animated this show is CONSISTENTLY as an indie show. This show rivals many "professional" adult animations because it's made by people who don't have the choke hold of a studio who only cares about profits. Sorry, I just felt like writing an essay, I guess.
14:57 Nux flips out, realizing what is planned. I, an intellectual, having already watched the episode and knowing just how nuts things are about to become, make popcorn in anticipation of Nux losing his mind completely.
26:34, that’s what I’m saying. I wish they had Moxie actually back up his threat with a Gun, because in his big moment he looks kinda dumb saying his piece to his dad like just gonna let him walk out Scott free after that, especially after revealing that he grew up seeing his father’s ruthlessness. They should’ve showed he was truly resolved in carrying out that threat, instead of just making him a damsel. He is a hitman after all
I just noticed that Millie blocked bullets with her feet . Like I can't wait for a Millie centric episode so we can finally learn how the hell she came to be such a bad ass. Like Millie is my favorite. And the thumbs up Blitz gives her after he kicks the car is gold.
I love the difference between Millie and moxxie. While Millie explodes when she expresses her anger, I feel moxxie is the “silent anger” you won’t know it’s coming he’ll just snap and it’s all over. As my dad would say “I can’t wait to see this bottle pop”
It feels like that's a real possibility. It's been mentioned a few times that Moxxie is actually really skilled and good at killing. With his personality, though, we've never really seen much of that since it doesn't seem like he actually enjoys it- or at least his subdued, nervous and awkward personality keeps him from showing his true potential in that area. I'm sure a lot of people would think it'd be a shame if we don't see him snap at some point
@@marksamson4173 I mean at least once, would love to see moxxie snap, especially if Millie was part of that reason, like he wanted to protect her or something
I loved this entire episode but the Moxxie flashbacks made it for me as much as I love seeing Millie be her bad self the flashback just overpowered everything else in quality for me the low music, how much they could convey without words, the fact we got an entire and complete story within a minute and a half that was still fully fleshed out and above all else the silent pan over to seeing the mothers shoe floating up amongst so many other mementos of nameless nobodies killed off by the father god that was so well done
Fun fact: The person young Moxxie killed wasn’t actually his mom, if you look at the picture of Moxxie’s family shows that she had smaller horn than the imp Moxxie killed. They made you think he killed her because you never see her horns anywhere but the picture. She still was killed but by Crimson and not Moxxie
I freaking love Helluva Boss it’s easily one of my favorite cartoons up there with the greats of this style like Invader Zim and Billy and Mandy it’s so damn good
17:05 Because creative freedom. The best shows in my experience are actually allowed to be what their creators want them to be, and the creators have the resources and the talent for it to be something good, without restriction.
Okay, so I.M.P.'s list of enemies are: 1. (Potentially) The murder family. 2. C.H.E.R.U.B. 3. Fizzaroli 4. L.O.S.E.R.S. 5. Verossica Mayday 6. That hitman that I forgot the name of. 7. Crimson
Anyone else notice that the person Moxxie threw off the boat had their horns cut off (they’re hanged next to the portrait) and had the same tail as his mother?
Plus his moms horns looked way different and the person pleaded that they had a family, Moxies mom would have propably adressed Moxie directly or said something different
The cut off horns had thick white lines which means it was a male imp Female imps have super thin white lines Only exception is Millies older sister who is a trans woman
If there is one thing i can think of is that, millie being a tough lass comes from her family and they are truly a nice, as nice as a hell family can get, family while moxxie's family, father, taught him "respect" in that I'm your father so you do what i say. Moxxie developing back bone from Millie and her family is one of the reasons why i believe he stood up to his father the way he did. Without millie, his story would have been way more depressing even with blitzo in his life.
Did anyone else notice Millie's look at the end just when Nuxx stopped the animation? Could Blitz's "only I will mess with M&M's marriage" be foreshadowing? Will Nuxx get his wish?
Best part about this episode? No matter how much you complain about the pain or how dark this episode is it completely cleanses you from how terrible Velma is
at 17:15 I believe I hear the victim muffle "Moxxie I love you, I love you" before it happens, but other people say it's not his mom or that it's just muffling. Wondering if anyone else notices.
Millie's rampage is probably the best fight scene in the show, second only to the fight scene with the entirety of I.M.P. when they got captured by the Men In Black (whom I forgot the name of the organization).

Find someone who loves you as much as Millie loves Moxxie
Velma when the mom is gone: 🥱
Helluva Boss when the mom is gone: 😭🔫

Absolutely brilliant, this is what happens when you have a plan for a story AHEAD of time, unlike a LOT of TV shows that make up stuff on the fly and never tie anything together.
Bro just hearing Blitz yell “CHILL TF OUT!” Is funny af
When nux said it, I realized this is actually the closest we'll probably get to a NTR episode of Helluva Boss
Blood makes you related.
It's loyalty that makes you family.
This episode explained so much about Moxxie. Like his behavior in episode 1, now we get why he originally didn't want to kill Martha.
14:57 Nux flips out, realizing what is planned.
I, an intellectual, having already watched the episode and knowing just how nuts things are about to become, make popcorn in anticipation of Nux losing his mind completely.
Millie is the only one with a healthy family relationship
26:34, that’s what I’m saying. I wish they had Moxie actually back up his threat with a Gun, because in his big moment he looks kinda dumb saying his piece to his dad like just gonna let him walk out Scott free after that, especially after revealing that he grew up seeing his father’s ruthlessness.
They should’ve showed he was truly resolved in carrying out that threat, instead of just making him a damsel. He is a hitman after all
I think it’s forshadowing
Moxy is so precious and must be protected at all costs god damn.
"Mille could single handedly take out this whole mafia"
-Nux
Millie took out an entire squad of mob with nothing but a knife, and her BARE HANDS
I just noticed that Millie blocked bullets with her feet . Like I can't wait for a Millie centric episode so we can finally learn how the hell she came to be such a bad ass. Like Millie is my favorite. And the thumbs up Blitz gives her after he kicks the car is gold.
Helluva Boss is God Tier right now. I absolutely love the work that gets put in the animations.
Tbf, Blitzø *might* be 25% succubus, so finding out someone's true essence by sleeping with them could be on brand.
I died laughing this episode. One if the best. The shark dude made me so uncomfortable all the time, which just made it even better
"My man did, what Griffith could not"
That line had me in stitches.
The fact blitz had chaz scream "chill the fuck out" 😂
Think that was actually Blitz "chill the fuck out"
Blitz tripping on tranquilizers like it's no one's business
No matter which time I'm rewatching, hearing Crimson say "Yeah, GAY!" after Moxie corrects him about being bi kills me everytime
also love just how weak Crim actually is, that he can't do anything himself and relies completely on everyone around him to get anything done.
Nux: "Millie could wipe out this while mafia".
Give it a few minutes. Lol
My favorite part was when Millie said, “It’s Millie time!” And proceeded to Millie all over the place
The fact that this memey comment is only a slight exaggeration is hilarious.
My favorite part was when Nux showed up said "its Nuxin time" and dedicated the last few minutes to that cuck Sneako.
@@TheLastHylianTitan fantastic isn't it? When the only part about this that's not true is the quote! She truly did Millie all over the place.
Remember waaaaayyyyy back in S1E1 when Moxxie said he'd have no qualms killing "a shitty dad or a mob family"?
I loved this entire episode but the Moxxie flashbacks made it for me as much as I love seeing Millie be her bad self the flashback just overpowered everything else in quality for me the low music, how much they could convey without words, the fact we got an entire and complete story within a minute and a half that was still fully fleshed out and above all else the silent pan over to seeing the mothers shoe floating up amongst so many other mementos of nameless nobodies killed off by the father god that was so well done
I'm happy that Millie wasn't knocked out immediately in this episode and was allowed to go nuts
People complain when the episode's too dark and they complain when it's not dark enough.
Wish they'd make up their fucking minds what they want-
7:40 🤣🤣🤣
He ran outta breath. Love this show
I am very VERY shocked at how many people thought Crimson was gonna be Millie's ex. I thought it was Moxxie's brother or father because of the voice.
The country music blasting with the massacre was so awesome
Fun fact: The person young Moxxie killed wasn’t actually his mom, if you look at the picture of Moxxie’s family shows that she had smaller horn than the imp Moxxie killed. They made you think he killed her because you never see her horns anywhere but the picture. She still was killed but by Crimson and not Moxxie
"Millie could single handedly take down that Mafia" ur right-
I freaking love Helluva Boss it’s easily one of my favorite cartoons up there with the greats of this style like Invader Zim and Billy and Mandy it’s so damn good
17:05 Because creative freedom. The best shows in my experience are actually allowed to be what their creators want them to be, and the creators have the resources and the talent for it to be something good, without restriction.
Remember how Moxxie said in episode 1 that killing a dad or a mob family would be understandable now we know why
Okay, so I.M.P.'s list of enemies are:
1. (Potentially) The murder family.
2. C.H.E.R.U.B.
3. Fizzaroli
4. L.O.S.E.R.S.
5. Verossica Mayday
6. That hitman that I forgot the name of.
7. Crimson
Ok
6. Striker (the hit man)
what about D.H.O.R.K.S
Hearing Richard Horvitz...freaking Invader Zim and Kaos from Skylanders, getting serious is epic.
If anybody's looking for the song that plays while Millie fucks up _all_ of the shit, it's "CRASHIN' A MUTHAFUCKIN' WEDDING" by Until Further Notice.
7:36 that genuinely hurt my ears, good job nux, proud if you.
Bruh the backstory got me crying 😭
Anyone else notice that the person Moxxie threw off the boat had their horns cut off (they’re hanged next to the portrait) and had the same tail as his mother?
I know it was an imp, but I'm pretty sure the tale has a different pattern on it
Plus his moms horns looked way different and the person pleaded that they had a family, Moxies mom would have propably adressed Moxie directly or said something different
I mean, it’s possible she didn’t think her husband would stoop that low, and she thought a rival mafia gang took her. The line would fit then.
The cut off horns had thick white lines which means it was a male imp
Female imps have super thin white lines
Only exception is Millies older sister who is a trans woman
you can see the person's shoes in one shot, they're not the mom' shoes. the dad killed the mom before that scene
Helluvaboss is top tier animation that youtube needs to get behind
21:05 why am I low key vibin to Nux singing
I love how upset Moxie still is about that comment Luna made about his weight in another episode 😂
Crimsons weak, he just relies on money and intimidation to keep moxie under his thumb.
While we're all appreciating the HB episode (AS WE SHOULD), can we also appreciate how amazing Nux's voice was while singing the NTR song?
If there is one thing i can think of is that, millie being a tough lass comes from her family and they are truly a nice, as nice as a hell family can get, family while moxxie's family, father, taught him "respect" in that I'm your father so you do what i say. Moxxie developing back bone from Millie and her family is one of the reasons why i believe he stood up to his father the way he did. Without millie, his story would have been way more depressing even with blitzo in his life.
I'd like to imagine that all the "bad" accents are completely on purpose, it just makes sense
Did anyone else notice Millie's look at the end just when Nuxx stopped the animation? Could Blitz's "only I will mess with M&M's marriage" be foreshadowing? Will Nuxx get his wish?
17:40 THE FACE😂😂😂 JUST PURE:
:O
Best part about this episode? No matter how much you complain about the pain or how dark this episode is it completely cleanses you from how terrible Velma is
Man this actually hits at the end
24:08 keep in mind Blitzo's track record so far. Celebrities, Demonic Gods.
My last relationship was a Chaz, this episode hit hard
I like that "doing a Shrek" could refer to either of the first 2 movies.
at 17:15 I believe I hear the victim muffle "Moxxie I love you, I love you" before it happens, but other people say it's not his mom or that it's just muffling. Wondering if anyone else notices.
Bro really said in episode 1:"Under what circumstances would we need to kill a family? Maybe a shitty dad, or a mob family, that's understandable"
3:55 Huh, well that's lazy! They just spliced in some live footage from New Jersey! ;D
So glad this was my introduction to your channel-
Millie's rampage is probably the best fight scene in the show, second only to the fight scene with the entirety of I.M.P. when they got captured by the Men In Black (whom I forgot the name of the organization).
Dhorks
Watching this before nux and him hitting on the notes before it happens is great 😂
I love how Millie went full mad dog style on the whole of Crimson's yakuza.
"this ass is MIINE" and slapping it is so damn funny xD
I have never heard this song until today and i hate how it's so amazing. DAMN IT TUX.
I forget Millie is from wrath ring and I love it when she goes slaughter mode
1:50 pov when someone find Nux's furry prawn stash
Millie is so badass, she kicked a bullet in mid air. Let's Go!
Considering he's a shark, wouldn't that mean he has two of those?
Oh I didn’t think about that
when he leaned in to blew the cig smoke into baby moxie's face after his mother left. it looked like a kiss. and somehow its the scene ib this that's haunting my every moment
