If you recall the pilot, Vaggie mentions that Alastor was able to defeat Overlords who had been reigning in Hell for decades, if not centuries, and did so 'overnight', meaning either Alastor got with the program and EXCELLED the moment he got to Hell, or he had some kind of advantage that ordinary sinners lacked, which catapulted him to the top. He's also VERY old; as I recall, he's older than Angel Dust, but younger than Sir Pentious, who is the oldest Sinner we've been introduced to besides Lucifer, Lilith, and possibly Carmilla. Regardless, Alastor is one of the oldest and most powerful Sinners in Hell, and Valentino says he almost kicked Vox's ass before he left town, and Vox feels genuinely threatened by his presence, sonit stands to reason that Alastor might be the single strongest Overlord active right now.
@@rathraven1313 He's not. Vizie has said Pentious died as a human around the 1800s during the Industrial Revolution, and according to Charlie's story, Lucifer offered the apple to Eve directly, hence apples are his icon throughout Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. There's something I liked about this episode that I haven't seen a lot of focus on. It's only like 2 seconds but I love how when Alastor was stating that he definitely remembers Sir Pentious now, the theme for Sir Pentious that played every other time he was on screen during the pilot played. What I love though is that the theme is obviously goofy and not very serious, which is how we're supposed to percieve Sir Pentious, but it's slightly different when played when Alastor talks to him and it became INSTANTLY sinister. This man didn't just steal Vox's Broadcast AND song but then went and stole this man's entire theme and made it better. XD
13:46 no Valentino is not one of the seven deadly sins, those are in helluva boss. Valentino and velvetee and box are all overlords (basically powerful beings that have so much power they basically control parts of hell)

The important thing to know about Stayed Gone is that it's not Savages from Pocahontas, a rival song, but Hellfire from Hunchback. It's Alastor's villain song
This was my favorite episode out of the 4 so far. I do wana see Charlie use her demonic powers more. But Alastair is just so damn awesome, the ultimate unbothered psychopath who fucks everyone's heads up. N is the most powerful human soul to ever enter hell.
Ah, I see nux also has an unhealthy obsession with emotionally unavailable characters who are incredibly mentally unwell. Alastor is my favorite too, buddy
I haven't seen the hate thankfully, I have just been enjoying the ride and watching the episodes. It really is nice to see this show have that similar feel but just be more polished, I'm having so much fun watching it. Thanks for the video.
Sir pentious is a legendary witticism. It implies he is parsimonious to a sinful degree ( think Ebenezer Scrooge). He's not just a snake but a hoarder and stingy AF and hoarders are punished particularly harshly in depictions of hell and he is a "sir" of their kind. Suffice to say it's bloody clever
I have mixed feelings so far about the show. It has a lot of potential and very interesting plot ideas, but I'm a little worried that it is rushing through them to their own detriment. Stuff like the Adam plot-line seems like it would have fit better later in the show. Who knows, maybe the show will catch up to its own momentum in the following episodes. Thus far though, I'm leaning towards Helluva Boss myself, but I liked the energy of the Pilot enough to stick around with it and see if it can recapture that same atmosphere.
Even sadder is Vox has no idea how powerful letting adversaries live rent free in your head can be, he could turn that L into a W if he was ready to defuse that rage & acquire some of Alastor's strengths instead, instead he is still too immature & insecure to do anything other than play right into Alastor's hands, dude literally got so tilted his station lost power.

If Alastor is the offeree but didn't implement conditions, who do you think implement the conditions? No one, not even Charlie. The "help for as long as you want" doesn't even feel like a condition, Alastor is free to leave whenever he wants. That whole thing wasn't even a fucking deal in the pilot, it's a gratuitous agreement. Charlie is getting help unconditionally from Alastor and it's a damn huge benefit if anything. The only benefit Alastor have in this agreement is his so called "amusement" that he might not get.
Alastor is there for the "entertainment" not to take over. Charlie is the fucking founder and Alastor is the manager. What in the world would Alastor want in a mental center? To rehab? He's a fucking sadistic psychopath that killed tons of people and enjoys seeing people fail and despair, so that's unlikely.
No one in this world just go to other people's business and say "Oh hey, I want to help you guys out unconditionally so that maybe I can take over.." because businesses doesn't just do that, that's not how that works. They have to declare their ownership of their business to end in order to give it to others and that's fucking common sense in the business world or literally to anyone who "owns" something...
He's a investor
No one fits the entire vibe of the show more than you Nux lol
The Vtuber, the energy, the jokes, the whole shabang
I love how Alastor just takes up the lines of the beguinning of Vox song and make it so much more menacing.
Tierlist of Hell Power Rankings:
1. Lucifer is No.1, Prince of Pride, Fallen Angel.
2. Next is Lilith and Charlie, his Family Members.
3. Then there's the other 6 Deadly Sins, Including Asmodeus of Lust, Beelzebub of Gluttony and Mammon of Greed. The others we haven't seen yet are Satan of Wrath, Leviathan of Envy and Belphegor of Sloth.
4. Then there's the Ars Goetia, some Royal Family of Birds or whatever, Stolas is part of it.
5. Then there's the Overlords, like the Vees or Alastor. Very Powerful Sinners.
6. Then the Regular, Boring Sinners.
7. Then Most Hellborn like Succubi.
8. And Finally the Imps and Hellhounds, which are basically Enslaved.
Thats a good explanation
Tho, we have to remember nobody said Overlords couldn't get more powerful than royalty.. Alestor could very well be more powerful than the Goetia since he doesn't seem to be scared of Lucifer. He could be hiding overwhelming power
@@aleksagamemaster5736 That's just him keeping up bravado. We have now seen that he very much could not do that. Even without seeing the final fight, when one of the older overlords show up he gets a bit nervous, I guess there's a reason he only deposed MANY of the overlords overnight.. It's not that he's unafraid of Lucifer because Lucy couldn't kill him, he just knows he WOULDN't kill his daughter's friend right in front of her. It's the same logic that makes most demons openly disrespect Charlie. They know damn well that if serious she could eviscerate any of them, but they know she wouldn't so who cares.
Small correction: Ars Geotia aren't birds, it's a book. It contains a list of 72 demons, Stolas being one of them (an owl with long legs).
Interesting how Alastor was gone for seven years, same as how long it's been since Charlie's seen her mother Lilith
That's a good point, never thought of that tell you pointed it out
I'm watching together with Nux, so I have no spoiler, but You know what I just realize during Alastor singing part, He is right, When he turned off every light in the city the only thing left in the darkness was his voice, you can close your eyes, you can hide, you can stuff your nose, but Sound is loud enough is unavoidable because you can hear the vibrations in your skull, Alastor Is the overlord of Fear, He doesn't care for money, he doesn't care about control, he is the embodiment of boredom and fear

when the guy who doesn’t consider

and now the snake wont try anything dumb to make him remember him, cause the entertainment from that has lost its course
22:50 the idea of Hazbin Hotel doin a rap battle 2 episodes in while the verbalase drama is going on is so funny 😂
I actually really like that they immediately exposed Sir Pentious. Like, they just skipped most of the drama of “Is he on their side, or the V’s?” I always hated that sort of thing and seeing it thrown out so quickly does wonders for my hope for this show. Bravo 👏🏻
I would have died laughing if when Pentious was calling for help Vox said "Pentious? Who the fuck is Pentious?"
Overlords are sinners who have so much power that they can make deals for other sinner's souls. The more souls they have the more powerfull they are (it also depends on who's soul is it). That's why Vox is so concerned with Alastor managing to get Charlie's soul in the future.
I just noticed the 7 year line in Vox's song. There must be a connection between Alastor and Lilith's disappearance.

Is this man implying that he has never been hurt through all the years in hell ?… how powerful is he?!
@@Brutalyte616 Sir Pentious maybe the serpent that tempted Eve.
Charlie is also noted by Vizie to be even older than Pentious.
@@Brutalyte616 Ok. Thought it was an interesting theory that got proven wrong. Thanks.
@@Brutalyte616 that is both terrifying and amazing… but would really make sense. Interesting. Is that out of everyone who could’ve done “damage” to him to *Al* of all people… it was Pentious. And while , and hear me out on this, it’s small and I mean extremely small and comparison to anything he managed to do so and despite you still being a washed up hazbin of a scientist (no pun intended) He actually got Allister to acknowledge him
The very beginning of Vox's song reminds me of "I'm the bad guy" from Wander over Yonder.
YES. And later on, it has a few bits that sound like "Stronger Than You"
I FOUND MY PEOPLE
32:22 Nux... You just don't get it. Serpentious tore Alastor's coat, and he takes that VERY PERSONALLY.
NEVER MESS WITH THE COAT!!
Interesting thought is that Charlie hasn’t heard from her mother in 7 years, we just leave that Alistor also left 7 years ago. Could be a coincidence or a connection between the two
Basic human psychology, TV has to constantly snap it's fingers for you to pay attention. Radio you will always listen to weather you know you are or not.
Thats right, the way I think about it is that you can always block out the visual stimulation but it’s extremely difficult to completely block out sound
God I love this show and every episode just seems to be better than the last. The songs actually slap so fucking hard and actually go a long way to giving more depths to the characters it just feels so good to finally have this show after all these years and so far it hasn't disappointed.
XD
its kinda funny this is the first time i even heard their were critics complaining about this show! I've really only heard positive things!🥰
I want to be your side of the internet. This show is very good!
Wow I envy you, yeah the just massive amount of hate is so ridiculous
Ep 3 and 4 hit really hard! I cannot wait to iewatch them with you :D
The overlord song in episode 3 is SO awesome
I guess Overlords offer safehouses during the extermination... with a price of course.
Explains why Alastor is helping Charlie besides the Lilith angle, he needed a safehouse to use.
13:46 no Valentino is not one of the seven deadly sins, those are in helluva boss. Valentino and velvetee and box are all overlords (basically powerful beings that have so much power they basically control parts of hell)
Overlords are sinners who have so much power that they can make deals for other sinner's souls. The more souls they have the more powerfull they are (it also depends on who's soul is it). That's why Vox is so concerned with Alastor managing to get Charlie's soul in the future.

- Alastor is voiced by Amir Talai who also voices Tom Trench (Hazbin Hotel series), Crane & others (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), Naveed & Terry (Hailey's On It!), Skidmark, Tito, & others (Turbo F.A.S.T.), & many more
- Vox is voiced by Christian Borle who played as Black (Peter & the Starcatcher) & William Shakespeare (Something Rotten!)

The important thing to know about Stayed Gone is that it's not Savages from Pocahontas, a rival song, but Hellfire from Hunchback. It's Alastor's villain song

I AM HAPPY YOU REACTING TO EPISODE 2

@@Hephaestus_Godbest episode so far in my opinion, with both the story in it and the songs.
I bet Sir Pentious will be the surprise hero of the season.

Vox's entire song is "Alaster lives rent free in my head."
