Great run, but I always thought the normal Fatty GL was the worst of the three for shellspam since it just has high raw which doesn't matter most of the time. I get full burst with White GL will get you killed with the recoil, but Crimson is Wide 5 too and it's blast might have helped more than the tiny bit of dragon, especially when you drop to blue sharpness, not sure though how it would turn out in this long a hunt.

How did you get the gauge to stay locked at orange/red?
By doing a wyvern fire after shelling to near red will increase the gauge heaps and then lock the bar in place for a period of time.

@@arachbae4777 definitely try both if you're getting rise. I mainly used longsword from FU onwards and didn't branch out until end game of 4U. I used gunlance maybe 5 times in that decade and when world changed how gunlance worked and it's motion values....I tried it, and used it for 800+ hunts straight before even going back to using another one hahah. It's so good in rise and the longsword is absolutely bonkers in it as well. Cannot wait for rise to sink another 3-6k hours into the franchise hahahaha 😭😂
@@arachbae4777 other than that I kinda like how GL is in XX but longsword for obvious reasons in XX is god tier alongside hbg, both of which have broken Valor modes.
How do you extend the time of your valor?
Dealing consistent damage is the best way. Certain attacks extend it longer, iirc.
