David you got lucky to get married with a beautiful Romanian lady and you made the move to ROMANIA in 2019 I am happy for you Moving now to ROMANIA is very difficult for the former EU country like the UK Yes technically GB is considered in the EUROPEAN UNION as a third country like Romania was before we enter in the EU 2007 Imagine if France or others countries decided to live the EU they will be considered third countries Nothing to do with the level of the economy of that country. David is right
Most of the people at that office on Strada Amaradia are good people. Good luck! As for switching drivers licenses - yes on the IDP, the rules in the USA are a little different. USA drivers licenses are not accepted in Romania. The USA IDP is purchased from AAA and covers 1 year.
Interesting to find out you can choose between 36 or 50 pages in your passport! I haven't heard about that possibility for a Romanian passport unfortunately
Just a small point i'd like to make for brits, when he reffers to UK as a third country,it's about the EU EMIR system which is about trading and so on,it's not about the standard of living :))
Exactly, but we are now classed by EU countries as a third country. Check out those passport queues in Greece and Spain! Nothing to do with wealth. All to do with politics and the madness that is Brexit.
@@livinginromania Indeed, just wanted to make it clear since the term ,,3rd country,, is often used as a standard of living metric, which in UK's case is not like that :)
Are you 100% from UK? I don't understand why your English pronunciation is so good, I would say it is almost an academic one. Does this depend on a particular region of the UK or maybe you worked as a teacher?
Mersi frumos !!

I am 100% from the UK and you are very perceptive. I was a lecturer and a teacher in a previous existence. I worked in the South of England.
@@livinginromania Thank you, man You are a great person.
How on earth you are asking this silly question and is a bit unpolite to do this.
