Yes, that is definitely true. I'm a long time martial artist and it basically uses the same "memorizing" principle, just called "form" which is always the foundation of every further developed exercise. However, the good thing about getting the hang of it in a faster speed/normal speed is that if that works it's easier (at least for me) to alter the speed to my liking. When I first tried to transfer Darbuka/Doumbek rhythms to the Cajon at slow speed I failed miserably, original speed worked fine
I can get the first part easy but is their any chance you tabbing this up for cajon as I cant get my head around the way you playthe second part compared to the drum tab.
Hi Ross. I don't hear the syncopated snare beats in the second halves of the 3rs and 4th measures. Is that deliberate? I hear them in the original, just. Cheers.
That's the weird thing, I have less of a problem with complex patterns when I first get the beat in my head with an imagined metronome and then actually speed that up a little and start playing it as compared to slowly constructing things. I don't know why but the really slow stuff makes me mess up more than anything fast.
Awesome idea! Very original approach.
I practised this on my desk this evening. It was awesome.

Quick Question: I was wondering if I could record part of this video, sample the Cajon and its sounds as a sample pack?

I feel kinda incompetent for having quite a hard time playing this slow but somewhat being able to play it faster way more easily.
