A point i neglected to make. Also, I noticed rewatching my video for edits that in the trailer there are ABNORMALLY large corpses poking out from the two giant structures of corpses marika is standing between 👀 Also, there is one of those missing nox statues... in the church of vowes........ (from ahumanjusticars video) PS. If you hear birds you aren't losing it, I am surrounded completely and totally by rainbow lorikeets 😂 They will not be silenced.
I think that what Marika is reaching into in the trailer is not a womb but the eye socket of half of the head of a scaleless snake... I can draw the other half, is definitely a white scaleless snake.

@@louisnguyen6610 god's love reaches you anywhere, and is in everything at all times. It grants forgiveness and a new life of service to god. It's a deconstruction of the christian god, specifically of the christian god's forgiveness and the problem of evil/hell. A jesus who by force denies you hell and cages you in heaven is shown to be tyrannical and necessarily oppressive in almost completely unimaginable ways, including but not limited to the complete replacement of your very desire, the core of your being. @@ScumMageInfa miyazaki even randomly said that in an interview (when asked about the interconnections of the map in bloodborne): "The world itself is a painted world in several respects - like Dark Souls - but essentially each area is still seamlessly connected." Here the full question and answer: Interviewer: I know there are some who prefer the ‘hub’ system from Demon’s Souls but for me, one of the most memorable aspects of your recent work was the extraordinary world-building of Dark Souls - how the game’s locations all linked up like some grand, intricate work of origami. How have you approached Bloodborne’s map design? Miyazaki: I wanted to take the best of both approaches. So every area is linked in one way or another much like the first Dark Souls, but you also have a hub system like Demon’s Souls. The world itself is a painted world in several respects - like Dark Souls - but essentially each area is still seamlessly connected. At the same time, to access each point, there are central hubs that act as warp points, and to reach new points, you still have the hub which also acts as a refuge as well. I wanted to combine the best of these elements so that you’d be able to easily go to areas you’ve already discovered.
Odd that so many are complaining about the sound levels, I'm old and went to many Rock and Metal gigs when I was younger and my hearing isn't great anymore, and yet, I had no problem hearing your voice and rather enjoyed the level. Subbed.
I think it MAY just be people's setup.. I mean, I could hear it fine at 80% on my phone, loud and clear- However some people are saying it is maxed and cannot hear me 😂I'll make sure the next video has the option of louder sound.
@@ScumMageInfa could be, I have an internal sound card linked to an external speaker set up. I have noticed my gaming headset has lower volume settings even at 100%.
I'm listening through an iPad and the volume is at about 50%; it is definitely slightly lower than usual. Also, I don't mind bumping up my volume to 75% (and I definitely have hearing issues). Most people don't wanna touch their volume dials and expect for audio to sound all the same. I don't think the problem is the video lol

The wisdom of stone is referring to the crystalians; from their staff: "Staff fashioned from pure crystal; a deed impossible for a human. Enhances Crystalian sorceries. The Crystalian's faint cognition is know as the "wisdom of stone." This staff can only be wielded by those of intellect high enough to grasp such wisdom." Still significant staff placement though! I really like your theories overall, and I think you're onto something here. Love your explanation for the fossilized despairing people underground.
Yes, Ive mused over that item description too lol Their cognition is the wisdom of stone, in other words, the origin of it. So who crafted them? I would wager a guess that it may have been the obsidian and alabastan lords, but I'm yet to delve into the wisdom of stone properly. I have a video planned for it :P I literally stared at them while they were meditating to see if there was any clue 😅 Thank you for watching and the kind words ♡

Dang, that was pretty compelling. The Crypt Thrones are the most arresting images in all of ER for me and I think about them a lot and I NEVER considered Marika and the Gloam Eyed Queen to have been intended occupants of them. Fascinating idea and I think you might be onto something!
Thankyou :D It was quite a roller-coaster as I was going through in game and "discovering" these things and trying to piece it together- one of the most enjoyable moments I can recall tbh. The next one is even funner. I had a riot making it 😂 I hope you find it as compelling ♡
Wow! Have you just been waiting until the bottom of the ninth before hitting one of the park? I think this is definitely the most complete and coherent account of the timeline for the eternal cities, numen, and Nox that I’ve seen. (And I darest say I’ve seen them all . I’m a lore junky.) Fantastic video!
Thankyou so much! What a generous compliment! I will be making a deeper video on the pre-nox cultures eventually, I will be DEEP diving into Elden John. Funnily enough, this video was originally a couple of paragraph prelude to the next video I am releasing (Marika's Great Escape) lol and it just.. grew.. so I needed to get it out and done with to finally finish the next one. I did NOT expect it to blow up like it did, but its reassuring to feel less crazy with so many positive comments hahaha
Agree I am arguing that is where it also came from, a sort of rott crucible (see the video I just released on crucibles for more context!) It was banished back whence it came.
Alright, you blew me away at the end. I didn't connect as many dots as you did with the ancient races...but I've always had this feeling Miquella is simply being guided by Marika to follow in her footsteps only to be betrayed in the end. All the children she had were just calculated plans and attempts to not only control the board but to pave the way until eventually the perfect child was born. One that npcs in game and players irl had trouble distinguishing between. Miquella. We know Marika has a bloody history and is not shy to use her children for war or banish them entirely. Why would we believe any of her whispers when her history is stained with betrayal. She is Queen Eternal and plans to keep it that way. Perhaps taking over Miquella or sharing a body with him is her way of escaping her current prison and separating herself from Radagon. It makes me wonder if the journey in the lands of shadow is a pilgrimage to becoming one with another. Is this how Marika fused with Radagon in the first place? I made a Reddit post a few days ago about this but it didn't gain traction. I've always been sceptical of Marika's actions and Miquella being so mysterious compared to the attention the other children received felt off to me. Miquella the kindly may be the first truly good Fromsoft character, but that makes his character naive to the fact that his own mother has ill intentions regarding his fate. A sad story in itself. All this really shot off when the preview came out and it was mentioned that Marika sanctioned Miquella to the Land of Shadow...a place where she became a god, and a place where she has her deepest secrets hidden. I also made a joke post that Marika is an ant queen and Elden Ring is just a dark take on 'Honey I shrunk the Kids'....that was better received than my other theory. 🤣🤣🤣 You explaining it all like this reassures me I'm not entirely crazy. Subscribed and liked, I can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on the lore. Thank you for the brain melt. 🤣🤙
Believe it or not, the next video I am releasing is very much along these lines 'Marika's Great Escape' essentially, but the method is what I am focusing on, which involves those.. calculated children- So I would argue you are very near correct :P Apparently that item description was wrong btw, and it was addressed to mersmer, not miquella. However, I would argue this changes nothing, I can let you guess as to why hahaha Thanks so much for the wonderful comment

@@thewhistler6537 the "Queen Eternal" theory of Marika seems most plausible for me. she was the one whom tore lands between into shreds, and wants it to remain this way.
18:02 About the "Wisdom of Stone" I think that's about the Crystalians "Crystal Burst - A sorcery of the Crystal Cadre, a group of sorcerers who pursued the wisdom of stone - the secrets locked in the faint cogitation of the Crystalians."
A very valid point and one I also pondered but instead over the headpiece to their gear which alludes to something similar. However I can't reconcile the staff being under such a uniquely strange crypt throne and not being connected, hence why i took the route of speaking about the alabastans and onyx lords- I think they are tied in with the wisdom one gains when also becoming a stone like creature- like the onyx and alabastan lords, and like lusat and azur.
@@ScumMageInfathe onyx and alabaster lords have always confused me, because one would expect a creature of stone to be very sturdy. but they aren't, they are very easy to stagger and they bleed, which is surprising considering that miners have skin that's actually rock-hard. I've always wondered if their skin is superficial, more stone-looking than actually being anything like stone. I'm going nowhere with this, I just thought it was interesting.
DLC SPOILERS BELOW So, from the base game, we have credible evidence that the Primeval Current is the Greater Will (or at least its location). Lusat (whose staff we find in the Sellia Chair-Crypt) is one of the sorcerers who "saw beyond the wisdom of stone" and glimpsed the Primeval Current/Greater Will, as is Azur. Azur's staff says: "When Azur glimpsed into the primeval current, he saw darkness. He was left both bewitched and fearful of the abyss." The Nox opposed the Greater Will (and were forced underground as a result), and sought an Age of Stars heralded by a Lord of Night. Night was the basis for their whole society/religion (hence 'Nox', Latin for 'night'). They also relied on sorcery instead of incantations, connecting them to glintstone (and to the Dark Moon, connecting them in turn to Carian Royalty, but that's not so important here). The Eternal Darkness sorcery (also found near Sellia) mentions the Eternal City and is referred to as "the despair that brought about its ruin made manifest". I think this is crucial to understanding what happened to the Nox, given the context provided by the DLC. The Metyr questline in the DLC reveals that the Greater Will has been silent for a very, very long time (since long before even Marika's ascension to godhood). The world's primary god has functionally abandoned it, and only darkness - a deep, infinite, _eternal darkness_ - remains. All of this information is the basis for the following speculation: I think the Nox glimpsed the primeval current in their attempts to reach the stars. Instead of stars they found the truest form of the Night they revered - and realized it was either just the Greater Will again or the pitch-black absence of it. In either case, as a civilization defined by their rebellion against the Greater Will, I can't imagine they took this discovery well. Soon after, their civilization collapsed. Inferring further, perhaps in their despair the Nox successfully beckoned the stars to hasten the Age of Stars/Lord of Night - but also successfully summoned Astel in much the same way, which proceeded to destroy them. (also, it's possible this all ties into why Placidusax is Like That. Eternal slumber in a pose reminiscent of the Two Fingers (or Metyr); trying to contact the Greater Will, peering out into eternal darkness...) There's definitely more to this, but this comment is long enough I think.

Volume feels fine to me. Personally, I think the issue is that you seem to just descend into a whisper halfway through every sentence. Like you really eneunciate when you start talking, and then it just tapers off into barely audible whispering the closer you get to that full stop, and then the cycle continues. Banger video other than that, just thought I'd give my 2 cents
@niallmacrae6016 hahahaha thankyou I actually think I have the volume worked out now. My new two videos seem to be getting positive feedback about the change of Audio mixing :P
Amazing video! I agree with most of your theories, aside from the "create messmer" bit, as i believe he may be related colser to the gloam eyed queen due in part to his relation to the godskins via snake-like and elongated features. However, I look forward to the evidence for your theory. That being said, the profane ritual of Rykard being compared to the scene with Marika during the trailer was absolutely brilliant. I subbed, have emailed this video to ratatoskr for review, and am looking forward to more!
In that same regard, concerning Rykard even, isn't it interesting how the snake bois in his area move like the godskin? :P The stretching of heir bodies is like the apostle for example, and they too have tails. Thankyou for the compliment

Love this theory, but the only disagree with is the reason for the lake of rot existing. I don’t remember what it was (i think the map), but an item description says that the blind swordsman who taught Malenia sealed away the Outer God of Rot there, and I’m pretty sure that the lake of rot is that God’s “essence” leaking over, hence the Pests, followers of the Rot.
yes, I know what you mean - The thing is, the blue swordsman may have sealed the god of rott, but where did the god of rott COME from? And WHEN did he seal it? :P I would argue the giant lake of rott underground was created as runoff from this ritual, and the outer god of rott was 'summoned' to the lands between from it, as a sort of rott crucible lol The Blue swordsman sealed this god later, however Malenia was born with the rott as punishment for Marika's involvement with the creation of the rott in the lands bewtween (Just like Morgott and Mogh were born as they are, as a result of her meddling with the erdtree's crucible)
@@ScumMageInfa I recommend a really good video that goes deeper on this than I can called Elden Ring is a Cosmic Horror masterpiece. It talks about a lot of these topics really well, plus others.

Considering how much miquella learned from the underground cities, there's a connection with the "binding" magic you're talking about and the concept of compelling adoration that's ascribed to miquella a lot.
And, fun enough, the pink mist that comes out from the bewitching branches (Miquellas branches that uses his affection compelling) is the same pink as the eyes of the ants in the eternal cities who are being mind controlled, same colour as the fingers with pink jewels, and rannis jewelry.
Amazed that this is your first video. Please make more!! I went to your profile to get another to watch and was amazed to find this was your first. Hell of an entrance.
I did find some of your conclusions in the second half a bit spurious, specifically that the Godskins aren't native to Farum Azula, but you had good reasons to back up your points and it left me thinking your conclusions might be closer to the truth than my preconceived notions. The Godskin and Carian jewels being identical was something I hadn't noticed before that really threw me for a loop.
@@DavidStavis Thankyou so much! :) I have another video half done that I'll be releasing in the next day or two so, stay tuned 😁 I think the remnants of the Godskin are being manipulated by Ranni, who they see as a return of the GEQ and Age of the Stars and Moon, this is why we see them on the bridge to Ranni's castle, and in the windmill village (That will make sense in the next video).

Interesting they use the word "stock" to refer the Numen's relation to Marika. In nature a stock can refer to the trunk or main stem of a tree or another plant, onto which a scion is grafted to produce a stronger plant.

Haven't finished the video--you are the second person, after myself, to believe the Gloam Eyed Queen could have been Marika's sister. That's how I know you're a real one. :) I would never have thought about ghostflame being, originally, or at least in a previous time, purple. This is because you are also the first, after countless other lore works I've seen, to point out the description of the Grave Violet. That was all it took to convince me of the idea that Death's color could have split into red and blue. The only thing I could see being evidence of the contrary, is that if death has already split, why would the Grave Violet itself not have changed color? But otherwise, this idea alone, has monumental implications. Amazing video!
Thankyou very much for the generous comment ❤ I would say the grave violet didnt change because it isnt the flame itself, which is why it is such a compelling piece of evidence. It is something that has remained the same, with a description that gives insight, while the object it refers to (The ghost flame) is now made of composite parts, that are supported by the description of the grave flower (Blue, red = Purple) Makes me wonder what else is similar (Like the ancient dragons smithing stones losing their colour too, presumably after plassy was sealed)
I won’t harp on the volume issue since you’ve gotten enough of that, hahaha! As for the theory itself, I don’t know how much stock I put into it, but it’s a very interesting angle to approach things from. I wouldn’t be surprised if some parts are true, or at least truth-adjacent. Regardless, it’s a very well made video. Congrats on being new and getting something to pop off so early!

A fabulous video from a fabulous creator. Yeah, now that I think about it, I still know next to nothing about the giant figures seated on the thrones of the Eternal Cities.
I really enjoyed this joyride through the underground waterways. Dire dire docks was playing in my head all the way. I absolutely love your reasoning and format. Can't wait to see if you're proven right/wrong by the DLC!
Hahahaha an absolutely haunting tune to have playing as you discover the mounds of corpses in the waterways 😂 Same! I am so excited for it, I was SEETHING with jealousy at the creators who got early access, my god.
This was really interesting and great to follow. With all the new lore in the DLC about Marika's connection to the shamans and their unique properties for melding flesh, I feel like your observations about the piles of bodies being numens make even more sense now. The DLC also seems to imply that Marika was traumatized in some way by the persecution of the shaman people for ritualistic purposes. So I wonder if whatever happened to the Numens (ending up in piles of dead bodies, possibly as a result of going against the Greater Will) might have been a repeat of what happened to the shamans and what might have ultimately broken Marika and turned her against the Greater Will.
Been there done that hahaha my timeline has been broken and rebuilt a million times by now... it's outrageous. The DLC will break me hahaha Thanks for the compliment ❤
@@ScumMageInfa I'd always taken it as it being an outer god, since melania is aflicted by its "blessing" and miquellas needle which blocks the interferences of outer gods stops rot on people's bodies from spreading. So an entity similar to the formless mother or the blood star etc. I kinda doubt it "originates" from the lake of rot since you can tell it used to be a normal lake from its dead greenery. And the fact that you can find rot in the shadowlands that seems to predate most civilizations in the lands between. Plus there's heaps of dead bodies in a bunch of other places that has no correlation to rot

Thanks for sharing your theories! A lot of food for thought in here. I just wanted to point out that in the Japanese version of the Sellia's Secret note, the word for "source" is the same word for the primeval current. That word can in some contexts refer to the "source" of a river or tradition, but given that Lusat's staff and body are hidden in that area it seems likely to me that it's just supposed to reference the primeval current. Apologies if someone's already pointed this out; there were too many comments to read all of them and see if it had already been brought up.
With regard to the finger-slaying blade, I think when it says it was made from a corpse, I think it means literally the whole corpse, just like the Elden Beast turned Radagon into a sword. You can see the same design elements like the arms for the hilt and the vertebrae of the spine. Also, from Wikipedia: 'In the poem, Fjölsviðr describes to the hero Svipdagr that Sinmara keeps the weapon Lævateinn within a chest, locked with nine strong locks.' Lævateinn is the blade that Loki sought to slay the rooster atop Yggdrasil, and Sinmara was the giantess who kept the blade safe in a chest. The name 'Sinmara' has been associated with the word 'nightmare'. The twisted corpses in the Eternal City look very much like the faces in Bloodborne's Nightmare of Mensis area.
Hahaha! Thankyou! NGL I was TRYING to make it short and it ended up as 45mins and I was like eh... I feel like whats in there needs to be in there... and posted it... I didn't expect it to get this much attention 😂 Thanks again!
Great video! So interesting to follow the flow of human evolution through the river of the Eternal Cities. Onyx/Alabaster Lords (maybe) > Marika's People > Numen > Nox > Sellians
This is mostly just my speculation but the coffins that transport you have time magic attached to them. The one going up the waterfall is rewinding but ages to how it fell off the waterfall. This is a thing that’s happened before in fromsoft games. For instance in Bloodbourne after getting an invitation to Cain hurst castle you can find a secret horse and carriage waiting to take you to the castle. Once you are there though you turn around and the horses are dead. But not only are they dead but they have been long dead for ages.
@ScumMageInfa I hope you continue to make lore videos. I'm curious: when do you think Horah Loux shows up in all of this? I sort of picture him to come in sort of after the "Eternal Empire" is shattered, similar to how we do so. Second random thought: I can't get over the feeling that Renalla is of Numen lineage, and possibly of pure numen origin (thus why the Carians are noble). I'm wondering if the term "Empyrean" dates all the way back to this numen empire (maybe back to the ancient dynasty) - IE, a princess with Numen royal blood who would be a candidate to propagate life from a tree. Final random thought: I wonder if there was a fourth eternal city, located where the consecrated snowfield is. We have ordina, we have the petrified trees (I could imagine the area looking similar to Siofra), and we have an astel.
@@ericjensen7580 Hey! I most certainly will be! First - I would wager you are correct Second - I would wager Renalla is a descendent of the Moonfolk - Who are descendance of the Numen (IMO) as shown by the Carian ruins being near the moonfolk ruins, in the area above the albenuric village :D There are also Moonfolk weapons such as the amazing swip (Urumi) which is found in the Carian Manor, and it was wielded by nightfolk. I'll be delving into these ancestries in later videos, for sure - So interesting. I do wonder if Ordina was created at a later date- as it is VERY similar, almost identical, to Sellia :P I think it was made by Marika for Miquella to help hide the Haligtree- Just more evidence of her meddling (For example the Assassin guarding Ordina, and the assassins garbs being found there hidden under a bridge)
@@ScumMageInfa I really look forward to your future videos, this theory has really piqued my curiosity, especially hoe you linked so much to the shadow of the erd tree trailer
@@johnbuxton4484I am so excited to post the next one lol There is a touch more speculation and it's a little different to how things have been looked at so far, but.. nonetheless I can't wait to see what people think lol
I have to disagree with a lot of the speculation part, especially since some bits were straight up explained as something very else in the DLC, especially the speculation about fighting Placidusax, who lost his heads fighting Bayle. Both heads are still stuck onto Bayle's body, after all. BUT, good video otherwise, and I loved how you found the connections between cities above and the missing things in Selia. I'm not sure what that all means, but that, and the Nox, and their size, thus, seem to strangely tie into the Black Knives, who were Numen women, is definitely very interesting and worthy looking into! Also, don't worry about your voice, this one was really good to just peacefully listen to~
@arankirostok5229 I WANTED to make this video BEFORE the DLC to see if I hit anything in the dark :P If I hit every nail on the head I'd be as scared of miyazaki coming for me as a Boeing whistle-blower is of their management. 😂 TY for watching ♡ Glad you enjoyed it
Bro made an entire youtube channel to talk about some chairs. Jk this was very informative and completely shatters my timeline for elden ring you have given me much to think about. I wish we had more lore abour the albaster and onyx lords. Space elves??? Thats wild.
I love your analysis and the speculation that you made. Very compelling. Subbed, I can't wait to hear more. Regarding the comments where people are saying they are having a difficult time hearing you. I have UA-cam at 100%, PC volume at 80%, and TV at 50. Typically I can hear most videos with these values when my tv is at 25-30. I also watched the video on my phone and could hear it fine with my volume set to 80%. When I brought my mids (which is typically in the vocal range) up I was better able to hear you. I think most people use a typical V shaped levels with higher bass and treble higher and mids being lower.
Thankyou for the compliment, I'm nearly finished the new video and hope I can release it tomorrow :D I THINK I have the sound worked out now for the next video, hopefully. I made a louder version of this one in the pinned comment, would you be able to tell me if the volume is much better?
@@ScumMageInfa I'm excited to hear it. This version seems to be the same, perhaps slightly louder. Overall the video is quite a bite quieter than other videos I'm watching on UA-cam where it's primarily someone talking. I watched the video on my TV's UA-cam app and the sound is perfect. Checking settings on my own computer. I have my equalizer levels flat to avoid any issues with that. When I raise the mids on my equalizer the sound is fine. I googled the issue and it seemed like the most useful advice related to the db's that you record and edit at with dialog being at a higher level than the music and sound effects. Apparently UA-cam does some kind of audio metering if one type of audio falls outside the rest. I'm not sure why it would be so different on different on a computer vs TV app and mobile device, but it probably has something to do with how the audio is delivered to those other devices. I'd say it just has to do with my own computer, but the fact that others are seeing it, that I don't have the issue with other videos, and you're trying to republish the video with louder audio makes me think that it's something that UA-cam is doing. Thank you for all of your hard work. 😄
@@T_I_O_T_M Wow thanks for the analysis and checking on multiple! LEGEND. I think youtube changes the sound when you upload? It definitely changes the video quality lol I am messing around with the EQ now, on the new video I just posted I THINK (Hope) I have it under control now... 😂
Some really really good stuff here! Especially on the coffins and dead, I think most people assume the ants are just eating random washed up corspes and some Nox that they pick off... but the density and amount of corpses is absurd for this. I do entirely disagree on the "Marika and GEQ being in line for the throne" but, it doesnt seem to fit basically at all with the Shaman village and how their people were so abused by the Hornsent. Writing that out I realise you made this based on the trailer and not post release! I'm sure you'll have a lot to think about (as we all do now, lmao) post DLC content. PS: I've had loads of fun playing around with freecam on pc and have a 2k monitor... if you want high res screenshots of anything, I'd be happy to take a few!
@IngeniousNinja I WAS thinking the same thing, but then I thought what came AFTER the hornsent? Were the eternal cities the next civilisation, a d since marika and the black knives are said to be numen (perhaps the name used in lieu of shaman after the events if the shadow lands by marika etc) and scions of the eternal cities, it made me wonder if in fact still there was some internal conflict by these respective rulers and one WAS the GEQ. It's so crazy difficult to place the eternal cities now hahahaha Thankyou! That's super generous 😁
My interpretation of the nameless city is that it was the old part of Lyndell between the main gates and the lower part where the dragon is. And after Godwyns death that part of the capital sank deep underground as punishment for that's where the assassins lived. The rest of the capital was built around that older part of the city after Godfrey's reign.
HMMMMmmmm interesting theory, I always thought the old sector was more akin to sellia so maybe it was the INITIAL city there after the eternal cities sunk, and then leyndell was built over it after the age of the crucible to kinda pave over it in way for the age of the erdtree and golden order. Placing events and times of events is so hard lmao
i opened this video while i was driving boy oh boy aint this volume low i had to max out ur video so i could hear and once my google map goes off boy oh boy LOUD SO LOUD
I noticed the other day that the scales on the scale armour of the Exile soldiers in Stormveil are the same as those on the Nox armour. Also, the Exiles' skin looks very dark, like that of the Nox. Also also, there is blue trim on the Exiles' armour, to go with their red hoods. Might be nothing, but I thought the similarity in the scales was noteworthy!

THE MOST IMPORTANT, SUPER CRITICAL point i neglected to mention was rogiers quote referring to the black knife assasins as SCIONS OF THE ETERNAL CITY, thus establishing the numen as the precursors to nox in the eternal cities (when combining this info with numen rune description, and black knife assasin outfit description, as per video)
Twinbird Kiteshield = also blue and red. A point i neglected to make.
Also, I noticed rewatching my video for edits that in the trailer there are ABNORMALLY large corpses poking out from the two giant structures of corpses marika is standing between 👀
Also, there is one of those missing nox statues... in the church of vowes........ (from ahumanjusticars video)
PS. If you hear birds you aren't losing it, I am surrounded completely and totally by rainbow lorikeets 😂 They will not be silenced.

"The world itself is a painted world in several respects - like Dark Souls - but essentially each area is still seamlessly connected."
Here the full question and answer:
Interviewer: I know there are some who prefer the ‘hub’ system from Demon’s Souls but for me, one of the most memorable aspects of your recent work was the extraordinary world-building of Dark Souls - how the game’s locations all linked up like some grand, intricate work of origami.

The wisdom of stone is referring to the crystalians; from their staff:
"Staff fashioned from pure crystal; a deed impossible for a human. Enhances Crystalian sorceries.
The Crystalian's faint cognition is know as the "wisdom of stone." This staff can only be wielded by those of intellect high enough to grasp such wisdom."
Still significant staff placement though! I really like your theories overall, and I think you're onto something here. Love your explanation for the fossilized despairing people underground.
Yes, Ive mused over that item description too lol Their cognition is the wisdom of stone, in other words, the origin of it. So who crafted them? I will be making a deeper video on the pre-nox cultures eventually, I will be DEEP diving into Elden John.
Funnily enough, this video was originally a couple of paragraph prelude to the next video I am releasing (Marika's Great Escape) lol and it just.. grew.. so I needed to get it out and done with to finally finish the next one. I did NOT expect it to blow up like it did, but its reassuring to feel less crazy with so many positive comments hahaha
The god of rot was sealed away somewhere bemeath the lake of rot by the blue swordsman
Agree
I am arguing that is where it also came from, a sort of rott crucible (see the video I just released on crucibles for more context!)
It was banished back whence it came.
You explaining it all like this reassures me I'm not entirely crazy.
Subscribed and liked, I can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on the lore. Thank you for the brain melt. 🤣🤙
Believe it or not, the next video I am releasing is very much along these lines 'Marika's Great Escape' essentially, but the method is what I am focusing on, which involves those.. calculated children- So I would argue you are very near correct :P
Apparently that item description was wrong btw, and it was addressed to mersmer, not miquella. However, I would argue this changes nothing, I can let you guess as to why hahaha

About the "Wisdom of Stone" I think that's about the Crystalians "Crystal Burst - A sorcery of the Crystal Cadre, a group of sorcerers who pursued the wisdom of stone - the secrets locked in the faint cogitation of the Crystalians."
@chilly456 certainly worth further investigating, that's for sure..
DLC SPOILERS BELOW
So, from the base game, we have credible evidence that the Primeval Current is the Greater Will (or at least its location).
He was left both bewitched and fearful of the abyss."
The Nox opposed the Greater Will (and were forced underground as a result), and sought an Age of Stars heralded by a Lord of Night.
All of this information is the basis for the following speculation:
I think the Nox glimpsed the primeval current in their attempts to reach the stars.
Eternal slumber in a pose reminiscent of the Two Fingers (or Metyr); trying to contact the Greater Will, peering out into eternal darkness...)
There's definitely more to this, but this comment is long enough I think.
Good video, if a bit quiet. Takes the 'super quiet, wispering soulslike lore video' thing to the next level.
Thanks :)

I would argue the giant lake of rott underground was created as runoff from this ritual, and the outer god of rott was 'summoned' to the lands between from it, as a sort of rott crucible lol
The Blue swordsman sealed this god later, however Malenia was born with the rott as punishment for Marika's involvement with the creation of the rott in the lands bewtween (Just like Morgott and Mogh were born as they are, as a result of her meddling with the erdtree's crucible)

Pretty compelling stuff here. Great job!
Thankyou very much ^_^
Considering how much miquella learned from the underground cities, there's a connection with the "binding" magic you're talking about and the concept of compelling adoration that's ascribed to miquella a lot.

:) I have another video half done that I'll be releasing in the next day or two so, stay tuned 😁
I think the remnants of the Godskin are being manipulated by Ranni, who they see as a return of the GEQ and Age of the Stars and Moon, this is why we see them on the bridge to Ranni's castle, and in the windmill village (That will make sense in the next video).
Wow, this is great. I appreciate you always staying on point, but able to inject some humor without being obnoxious or distracting.
The editing is smooth and pleasing and your narration is oddly soothing. Not to mention it's easy to follow your train of thought.
However, and this is such a nitpick and unimportant thing, but boy do I not enjoy the font you used for the texts xD
I hope you make more videos, because this is very enjoyable!

Interesting they use the word "stock" to refer the Numen's relation to Marika. In nature a stock can refer to the trunk or main stem of a tree or another plant, onto which a scion is grafted to produce a stronger plant.
The same language is used for godwyn, GOLDEN SCION :P
And the black knives themselves are called scions of the eternal city.
@@ScumMageInfa Often times a plant with desirable fruit or flower will need to be grafted onto another plant in order to thrive in a different environment.
Remember that the original Japanese exists, so I wouldn’t take english so literally.
Phonetically, yes. The “stock” you are thinking of is spelled stalk. In this context it makes me think more like “live stock”.

i LOVE this theory that speak about the suggets with an interesting approch i never seen in any other place. I was a bit tired of always the same theory but i thinks yours is really interesting and original
Haven't finished the video--you are the second person, after myself, to believe the Gloam Eyed Queen could have been Marika's sister. That's how I know you're a real one. :)
I would never have thought about ghostflame being, originally, or at least in a previous time, purple.
Thankyou very much for the generous comment ❤
I would say the grave violet didnt change because it isnt the flame itself, which is why it is such a compelling piece of evidence. It is something that has remained the same, with a description that gives insight, while the object it refers to (The ghost flame) is now made of composite parts, that are supported by the description of the grave flower (Blue, red = Purple)
Makes me wonder what else is similar (Like the ancient dragons smithing stones losing their colour too, presumably after plassy was sealed)

Thankyou :)
Yeah IKR, I am still sifting through DLC content for further connections- Genuinely exciting stuff.

isnt it stated quite directly that the blind swordsman sealed the god of rot beneath a lake?
Absolutely. But where did the god of rot COME from? Perhaps, it was sealed from whence it came.

Now we know where the pink finger magic comes from. From the mother of fingers.
Seeing this reconciled with what we see in the DLC should be exciting.
*Super quiet relaxing video* kamala LEMME JUST YELL THIS ADD
LMAO I am so sorry! There is a louder version in the pinned comment so maybe you won't be so assaulted by ads :'D
@ScumMageInfa nah your part is chilling the ads were just like what if we screamed.
With regard to the finger-slaying blade, I think when it says it was made from a corpse, I think it means literally the whole corpse, just like the Elden Beast turned Radagon into a sword. You can see the same design elements like the arms for the hilt and the vertebrae of the spine.
Also, from Wikipedia:
'In the poem, Fjölsviðr describes to the hero Svipdagr that Sinmara keeps the weapon Lævateinn within a chest, locked with nine strong locks.' Lævateinn is the blade that Loki sought to slay the rooster atop Yggdrasil, and Sinmara was the giantess who kept the blade safe in a chest.
The name 'Sinmara' has been associated with the word 'nightmare'. The twisted corpses in the Eternal City look very much like the faces in Bloodborne's Nightmare of Mensis area.

I can't wait to explore it all more in-depth, there's a rich history ready to be explored
I'll be making a video on it eventually that's for sure
This is mostly just my speculation but the coffins that transport you have time magic attached to them. The one going up the waterfall is rewinding but ages to how it fell off the waterfall. This is a thing that’s happened before in fromsoft games. For instance in Bloodbourne after getting an invitation to Cain hurst castle you can find a secret horse and carriage waiting to take you to the castle. Once you are there though you turn around and the horses are dead. But not only are they dead but they have been long dead for ages.
Really strong video. I never saw the twinbird on the dark moon talisman, so that's a good catch.
Thankyou! :)
It's crazy what you find when you focus in one one aspect of the game and hyperanalyze its assets lol ngl its a very enjoyable process
First - I would wager you are correct
Second - I would wager Renalla is a descendent of the Moonfolk - Who are descendance of the Numen (IMO) as shown by the Carian ruins being near the moonfolk ruins, in the area above the albenuric village :D
There are also Moonfolk weapons such as the amazing swip (Urumi) which is found in the Carian Manor, and it was wielded by nightfolk.
This is phenomenal mate so glad i stimbled across this, love your narration style

🤯 you have impressed me. This is top notch lore. Please keep going!!!
Thankyou! :) ❤ I will strive to make the next video just as compelling 😁
Also, don't worry about your voice, this one was really good to just peacefully listen to~
@arankirostok5229 I WANTED to make this video BEFORE the DLC to see if I hit anything in the dark :P

Thankyou for the compliment, I'm nearly finished the new video and hope I can release it tomorrow :D
I THINK I have the sound worked out now for the next video, hopefully.
LEGEND.

It's so crazy difficult to place the eternal cities now hahahaha
Thankyou!
