I had the same thoughts, also worked on several car shapes in 3ds Max. The problem is that GPL cannot simulate a turbo so I think it might stay a dream. Furthermore there not many people out there who have the ability to do such modding work.

1957/58/59/60/61 F1 Season, the Indycars on late 50s and the 60s with the transition to rear engined cars and the british invasion and the 52/53 f1 season.
That Trans-Am sedan mod looked vaguely similar to the BTCC in the 1960's - now that would be worth replicating with a bigger variety of cars, such as the Mini Cooper, the Jaguar Mk 2, the Ford Fairlane and Falcon, maybe a Mustang here and there.
I can't wait for F1 51 season mod (same as 37 mod). But what I would like to see in GPL. For sure (after 68 mod) 70-72 F1 mods because is for me time with most beautiful (Ferrari 312B!!!) and crazy looking (Brabham BT34, March 711, Eiffeland...) cars, 58 F1 mod because battles big Vanwall's and Ferrari's against smaller and lighter Cooper's and Lotuse's and because cool tracks as Ain Diab, 61 mod because of Sharknose Ferrari and hell I want to see 2017 F1 season in GPL 😁. I forgot some mods for sure. Maybe some touring series from 70' but they are probably in GT Legends

As for any other mods on my mind: 1970-71 Sportscars 1938-39 Grand Prix 1938-39 Voiturette (The centerpieces would be the Alfa Romeo 158, Maserati 4CL, ERA E-Type, and Mercedes-Benz W165.) 1956-57 F1 + a few add-ons for 1955 (This would, in theory, include the Lancia-Ferrari D50 streamliner, the Bugatti Type 251, and the Vanwall VW6/VW57 streamliner.) For something less involved than those, a fun one that came to mind would be to do 1970-72 Interserie Group 7 sportscars. Not surprisingly, there's a part of me that would like to see 1955-57 Sportscars, but there is that little, 1,597-km-long obstacle to making that happen.
How about you recreate UA-cam F1? It will run on rFactor, set in the Modern Era (2015-2017), and The drivers will be you (Yannick Verheijen, Netherlands) and me (Ivan Ruzhanovskyi, Ukraine).
UA-cam F1 still exists as a sim racing team now, but you should not talk to me on that matter. I've abandoned it entirely and do not want to return to that either. That stuff is so 5 years ago.
How about F1 1982? Massive ground effects, shrieking turbos, and perhaps the most competitive season of all time.

Yes - the last hurrah for the Cosworth runners, the emergence of the turbos, and theoretically anyone could win anywhere.

Dude, I just want the 1970 Can-am series. I gotta see that Chapparal 2J in action in game.
Personally I am really keen seeing the Porsche 917/30 of the CanAm cars, but yeah, the Chaparral would be very interesting to emulate in GPL, too :)
