I own a Gen 1 1200 Diavel. Mine had a service and new tyres, whilst mine was in i was lucky enough to have a day on the new Diavel V4. What a machine, absolutely fantastic.
Muscle Bike fits the thing well… if your tach gets sudden surges of pixelization it’s definitely NOT a cruiser! 😅 Nice ride, a niche bike but well executed. Great video! Cheers, Lupo
Yup I think it fits the description well! Haha yup this is more superbike than cruiser, however is surprisingly comfortable. Cheers, glad you enjoyed it 👍
What a wonderful bick , the mixture between sporty design and cruiser style, and this particular fiery red color gave the design more splendor. Thanks for the review 👌
I have a Speedmaster similar to your Speedy. If you were to get a second bike and had to choose between the Diavel v4 and the Rocket 3 GT (assume the same price), which would you choose (also assuming you kept Speedy!)?
Test rode the original when I had a1050 tiger. Blew me away. Would have had one in a heart beat except for the maintenance. I am a diyer and ducatis are for experts and special tools but what a machine. I remember riding home a hundred miles thinking want want want. 100 miles later i came to my senses ££££££
I did a test ride on the L twin Diavel years ago. If I was to swap out my Speedmaster, the Diavel is what I would swap to. But I just really like my Speedmaster. Glad to see you review this one. You Street Triple review really got me considering a second bike lol.
This new Diavel is mighty impressive! Never liked them too much but this has changed my mind. Haha for second bike I would get the Street Triple personally. Cheers
So glad I watched your vid! Interested in your comment about it potentially being a useful tourer, I’ve got a red one in order with the tour pack! Can’t wait!! Keep up the good work
@@redangrevival I'm heading to Normandy for 5 days touring the D-Day sites in June, so I'll see if it works as a tourer. I'm thinking it will but not quite like a GS!
Nicely done - good, thorough review. I think Ducati stepped it up on this version - mechanics and technology, with a more favourable maintenance schedule. Still spicy in terms of price, but lovely machine.
Love my Multi V2S, looking at the Multi V4 next time but if I won the lottery I’d have one in the garage but then they are similarly priced, expensive🤣
Funny you should mention the mirrors. On the demo V4, the mirrors were not set to the correct factory marks and when I received my V4 it had the same thing. Giuseppe is not wearing his specs at the end of the production line where they fit the mirrors. BTW, my dealer fixed the mirrors before handing the bike over to me, so it's all ok now.
Thanks I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the review 👍 It is a fantastic top quality bike, but at 23k is out of reach for most! The KTM 1290 R certainly won't leave you wanting for excitement
Would love to make a video on that 👍 This is much more of a dynamically better ride, handling/brakes etc... The Rocket feels like more of a muscle bike
I don't know, the Yamaha V-Max has been out almost 40 years and it still looks a bit better..... not so cartoonish. It would be fun to have a side by side comparison between the two.
@@redangrevival You are absolutely correct about the Diavel wiping the floor with it.... however, I was referring not just to power but to styling that's almost 40 years old.
I want to meet the person that would be a pillion on that, they would be Awesome! Too much power for me, don't recon the rear cylinders would ever come on with me riding. 😊
Ay up Red now that's some bike wow I find myself liking this but jeez it's not a cheap prospect and man if something goes wrong I reckon it's gonna rinse your bank account 😉 it looks a really complex piece of kit . £23,000 for a nice day toy is quite a lot although if you have a spare 23 in your account and a very understanding wife/partner why not go for it 😊👌👍
If the Triumph Rocket 3 had an Italian girlfriend it would be the Diavel V4. I prefer the look of this Ducati to the Panigale which I don't like at all. Sorry TMF about that but there it is. The egg box exhaust is a bit odd tho. And the other thing I thought is the engine loox more like a bike engine than the Rocket does.
Definitely catches the eye.. first thought, a quick ride to work, especially if your a late riser. Expected a deeper roar.. let's the bike down there. And the price.. I could have two really good bikes to muck around on. Looking at getting Triumph America front footrests, no luck so far. Great video Cheers Angus
It is a weapon! haha But yes very expensive and reserved for only the few unfortunately. Recommend experiencing one if you get the chance 👍 Nice, get that laid back riding style Cheers
Really like what I'm hearing about the Diavel v4, not keen on the price, am I the only one who finds the 4 pipes a bit tacky looking and the rear wheel doesn't match the front - looks like a car rim. Come the lottery win it might well be in the garage !
Would love to throw a leg over that one and take it out for a run,...the price converts to nearly $44k Aussie, wOw....superb bit of machinery with a gattling gun exhaust..lol
What a wonderful bick , the mixture between sporty design and cruiser style, and this particular fiery red color gave the design more splendor. Thanks for the review 👌

It is a great design 👍 Rides like a super bike but comfortable as well.

Great review. I agree with Gregory comparing it to the Yamaha Vmax, also a V4 "muscle bike". Unlike it, this one looks like it can handle ! Cheers.
👍 Think this would take the edge dynamically!
Between this and the Triumph Rocket 3, I'd say "Muscle Bike" is a new category. The Boss Hoss may be the original muscle bike.
I'd put it in the "streetfighter" category, Ducati already has a model with that name though lol. This one just has slightly less power than that one
Didn’t Yamaha start that genre with their V-MAX?
@@jmlupoludowicy1239 Yes, you're right, I forgot the V-Max came first!

What a different between Naked bike and Cruiser bike? If it's mid control foot pegs like a naked bike.
It is a tricky bike to place. I think its more of a muscle bike
What a bike!! 😍
This and the Niken 😉
Love my Multi V2S, looking at the Multi V4 next time but if I won the lottery I’d have one in the garage but then they are similarly priced, expensive🤣
The V2 is a brilliant bike and all one needs for the road really. However the V4 is a special engine and I wouldn't turn it down!

Classic Italian, there has to be something wrong or it wouldn't be a Ducati! Nice to hear the dealer can fix them easily enough. Enjoy your bike 😎
It was comfy then?
Yes I hope that came across in the video!
Nice review of a spectacular bike, which reminds me of the Yamaha V-Max..
Yes it is quite similar in ways. I think this might have the edge with technology and riding dynamics though!

Buy a used Diavel instead of the KTM.

I need to check this bike out. I test rode the 2023 Rocket 3 and fell in love with it. So, you would buy this Ducati over the Rocket 3?
Although similar bikes they are very different in ways as well! But yes, I would have this Diavel over the Rocket 👍
Several review videos out comparing those two and everyone agrees the Diavel is the one to get.

Trust Ducati to come up with a bike that looks like it's come out of a computer game but actually works as a riding machine.

paying for 4 cylinders but only getting 2 half the time...
A strange concept but I like it. You really don’t need all for cylinders for slow riding!
