I owned a 2016 Ducati XDiavel S and loved riding that bike, that 1262cc Testarretta L-twin engine was awesome. I hope the new V4 in the Diavel is as nice.
I am the proud owner of a 2014 1st Gen Diavel Carbon in White, and I must say, this bike is an absolute beast. The raw power it generates is unmatched, and every time I twist the throttle and feel it zooming out, it gives me an exhilarating rush that I doubt any V4 engine could replicate. The L-Twin 1260 engine truly delivers an unforgettable experience, and I find it hard to believe that any other bike could give me the same kick. I am thoroughly impressed with the performance of my Diavel Carbon and can confidently say that it's one of the best rides I've ever had.
Ive got a 2013 carbon that ive had from new and was wondering how much better the new V4 is. Having already changed the exhaust, handlebars, installed tuneboy with cruise control and up and down quick shifter plus custom map , put on the later seat from the 2014 carbon also changed some other plastics for carbon, Im inclined to think this would be a massive upgrade taking into account the extra money I would have to pay. Plus my bike only has about 10k miles on it (shame on me)
It's only money and look what you get for it. The only negative comment about this bike from Neevsy was , "it's expensive" You get what you pay for and this diamond is worth it.
Almost traded my 2022 Harley Davidson, Lowrider S for this bike. That was earlier today now I watch the review and I’m scratching my head. Highly probable I pull the trigger. This is one hell of a machine.
Awesome video! The excitement in Neeves voice is infectious. He doesn’t dole out superlatives if they are not warranted, ever. My new dream bike. Best!
Always appreciate Neeves' thoughts. I recently bought a gently used Ducati red '14 Monster 1200 for $7.5K USD. Is this worth another $20K. Maybe for some, not for me.
Neevsy is the best reviewer worldwide...I appreciate a racers POV, it shows his depth of understanding of how a bike functions and performs. Well done!
I have just watched a few of the main competitors reviewers and this was by far the most informative. Also noticed some put their B team up. Wonder if that an acceptance they just don’t compete with Neevsey?
Superb review of a superb bike, but I am keeping my Multi V4S 😁 Neevsey, you are the ultimate in conveying information about whatever you review in the best, simplest and yet most complete and effective manner. Thank you!
Dream bike. My one year old V65 Magna (V4 1150cc) was $3200 in 1984. Outstanding but heavy. Still my favorite bike. Now I'm on a two wheel Lazy Boy recliner (Triumph America - Road King clone).
Great review neevsey,as always, that sounded like a dream bike to ride and a nice trip too👍 not a bad gig😃you deserve it for all the hard work you put in,well done again 👍
oh and this gets cruise control...just put it on the other models as well! People with bad wrists or that live some boring roads away from the twisties need it! Would love it on the Streetfighters or maybe a new Monster V4?
Sir, you make us eat from a extremely tasty menu. Most informative! Most enjoyable! Only thing better is to be there myself! Thank you and blessings to you!
I watched the 44 Teeth video first and noticed they gave you a shout out... "got me old mate Neevsey ahead of me, oh ya...Classic style, can't buy that style."
Great review, I wish he did more reviews on bikes, i always get a little disappointed when i click on a MCN link and find its not him, but appreciate that he cant review everything. I also like that chap that does off road bikes.
Insane sport cruiser that doesn’t want a V-twin. About time. To me, this competes with the BMW S1000XR with the insane S1000RR engine…which I own. This bike has me thinking.
I had an S1000XR and currently ride a V4s multistrada. The V4 on both is amazing and if they took that engine into the Diavel, I am excited to ride it. The biggest drawback for me for the XR was the height as I am blessed with a 29 inch inseam, and riding the XR could be challenging. This bike sits low and people like me can ride it easily.
Excellent production quality on this video 👏👏 Interesting to listen to your comments Michael, very articulate considered opinions as is your very professional norm, but somehow you sound more “ surprised “ by the bike than “ impressed “ with it, I have no doubt it’s a lovely piece of kit, some of the details and finishes look fantastic, but…..£23 grand is really salty for that 😳,……. I can think of lots of bikes I’d rather have costing less than that. I really want Ducati to make a nice sleek sexy sports tourer using this engine, something along the lines of a VFR800 but really sexed up 😍! That’s what I want to buy, but for £18 - £20 grand ish?….you listening Ducati 🙏??
Enjoyed that thorough review. Top drawer cheers. Any actually got me thinking that I'd like to own one of these beasts. Got a new Street Triple R at mo but I tell you what I like the look of these. Cheers Scott
I was torn between the SFV4 and multi V4, now I know which one I shall get. The perfect bike for me, comfy, fast if I want, looks amazing and 20lt tank, also, the woman likes it, which had nothing to do with my decision, I might add.😁 Great review.
I trust Nevesy and that guy with the long hair from Bike World. Best presenters bar none. I'm sold on this beauty, my only concern is, knowing ducati, there is gonna be a Diavel V4S at some point. Should I wait for adaptive suspension or no?
So it’s a Twin and a V4 that has every electronic feature you can throw at it ? Sounds so freaking awesome to me, now I want one.. - WAIT!! - HOW MUCH??
Get a piece of 2x4 long 6feet. Mount 2 bicycle wheels on it, spin then both same direction and try to pivot thee 2x4 side to side..... Now try the same excercise except spin 1 of the wheels opposite direction of the other and try to nidge the. 2x4 side to side... The spin of 1 wheel sort of immunized the force with the other and the 2x4 gets a little more nimble to nudge. That's the. Effect of the crankshaft spinning opposite thee 2 bike wheels. Capisci🤌
@DJT champ don't think so. Take one of your wheel and spin it one way. Try to move the 2x4. Stop the wheel and spin the other wheel the other way. Equally heavy. Now spin both but in different directions. Heavy + heavy does not equal zero.
Great valve and oil service intervals but what about the belt change. Most of my riding in the lower rev range would make this a very expensive parallel twin to own.
He does state that when running below 4000 rpm the rear two cylinders are deactivated therefore the bike is only running on the front two cylinders (ie a parallel twin.) Since Ducati ceased using bevel gear driven cams they went over to belts. Haven't seen anything to say this engine has a cam chain but if so that would be a welcome overdue change along with the dropping of Desmo valves and the increased service intervals.
Love the diavel, such a beautiful bike....I nearly bought one of the V2 version instead of my Niken. Apart from the front end grip issue, I thought the maintenance would be much easier/cheaper...... now I find the frame of my nearly new Niken is rusting from the inside.
I also went to the unveil of this bike, a few days later I Dubai. Being a Rocket 3 owner I was disappointed at the looks and the sound in particular. I appreciate that it rides well and looks are subjective, but it's just not a bad ass muscle cruiser like the Rocket.
If every manufacturer did the same thing there wouldn’t be any point . Ducati has a sport heritage and it goes through there different models . This is there take on a “power cruiser” and I think the majority of the people that are in to Ducati want that .
Probably not the bike for me, but I'd absolutely love an oppprtunity to throw a leg over one and take it out for a spin. And of course, brilliant review by Neevesy as always.
Very brave from Ducati to throw another awfully expensive bike on the market whilst the economic environment is not exactly favourable to spend money on luxury extravagance. However, I am sure Ducati did their homework to find out if there are enough lucky ones among us who can afford this Italian beauty.
Lovely bike but hideously expensive. For this price I would expect full Ohlins suspension, nothing less. A bit overpriced I think. 18-19 grand in todays market would be more realistic. Great review as usual from Neevsy.
Great bike I can only imagine owning one. However there is a reason everytime I have ever been in a ducati garage its dead. Out of the percentage of bikers in the uk there is another alot of percentage left who could afford one unfortunately. Price points are too high for real world riders and will be suited to middle aged bankers.. shame but what a bike
Neevsy is the reason I watch these. Always appreciate your articulate, well informed words, man!
Same reason too
Agree, the dude is peerless.
I like it that he just speaks normally without all the typical hype and bravado. Very comfortable to listen to.
And all from a position of genuine experience, knowledge and riding ability.
Eh, buy a Tmax.😂
Neevsy, the best road tester there is!!

I think this is best-looking bike in Ducati's lineup.
Always appreciate Neeves' thoughts. I recently bought a gently used Ducati red '14 Monster 1200 for $7.5K USD. Is this worth another $20K. Maybe for some, not for me.

I’ve watch two other reviews of this bike but I’ll always still tune in to watch the MCN reviews when it’s out!
I have just watched a few of the main competitors reviewers and this was by far the most informative. Also noticed some put their B team up. Wonder if that an acceptance they just don’t compete with Neevsey?
Diavel simply has a super small audience.
Hats off to you sir. Another cracking article.
Superb review of a superb bike, but I am keeping my Multi V4S 😁
Neevsey, you are the ultimate in conveying information about whatever you review in the best, simplest and yet most complete and effective manner.

Top of the day CHAMP. NOT A CRUISER. MORE OF A NAKED BIKE, STREET FIGHTER, STREET BIKE, MUSCLE BIKE. LIKE THE VMAX. BUT I LOVE IT!!! THANKS
Great review neevsey,as always, that sounded like a dream bike to ride and a nice trip too👍 not a bad gig😃you deserve it for all the hard work you put in,well done again 👍
All that money and heated handlebar grips are an option!
This bike is targeting Hollywood pretenders. California is a warm state.
oh and this gets cruise control...just put it on the other models as well! People with bad wrists or that live some boring roads away from the twisties need it!
Would love it on the Streetfighters or maybe a new Monster V4?
What a good smart review. Well done.
Amazing no dislikes, I can't remember another bike with such a glowing review, great video as usual, cheers
UA-cam removed Dislikes across the board. Thanks to Joe Biden
A sporty, cruiser, tourer - just what I've been waiting for - do you think Ducati have created another motorcycle segment!
If I ever get a V4 Diavel it will be the S. So I wait. 8:23 still Footpeg issue needs different Footpegs again. Noted!
quite the recomendation. Neeves has spoken.
that is one beautiful machine! I do wonder how the long term reliability will be with the cylinder deactivation.
Greetings from the States. That road looks fantastic!! Great review. I still want the Twin with that iconic trellis frame.
Sir, you make us eat from a extremely tasty menu. Most informative! Most enjoyable! Only thing better is to be there myself! Thank you and blessings to you!
That intro was 🔥🔥🔥 5 ⭐️ for that.
I watched the 44 Teeth video first and noticed they gave you a shout out... "got me old mate Neevsey ahead of me, oh ya...Classic style, can't buy that style."

BTW Nevs, what DO YOU use or pick as an all arounder??
Insane sport cruiser that doesn’t want a V-twin. About time. To me, this competes with the BMW S1000XR with the insane S1000RR engine…which I own. This bike has me thinking.

I think this is the fourth gen, isn't it? Wow this bike exhaust sounds amazing.
I enjoy your reviews more than anyone.
Enjoyed that thorough review. Top drawer cheers. Any actually got me thinking that I'd like to own one of these beasts. Got a new Street Triple R at mo but I tell you what I like the look of these. Cheers Scott
Wow what an amazing motorcycle, great video!
Dream garage stuff for most, which is a shame coz i really like it.
Neevsy is MCN. It should be called Motor Cycles by Neevsy.
This was a great review neeves! Love this new diavel. If i could swing it, i wouldn't mind trading my street rs in and get one. Great job ducati!
Greta very informative review, thank you! How’s the sitting position compared to the 1260 Diavel?
Love these reviews . Is it me or is the sound not sync with the visual
Great review , as always 👍
love your work

Absolutely love and want this absolutely cannot afford it but dream big you never know
Great review mate

Neevesy, this bike is answering questions that nobody was asking..
Hi Neevsy. Which would get your money...Diavel or Hayabusa for a few grand less?
How can the counter rotation help with the gyroscopic forces? I understand that it prevents wheelies but the gyroscopic forces is still there.
Get a piece of 2x4 long 6feet. Mount 2 bicycle wheels on it, spin then both same direction and try to pivot thee 2x4 side to side..... Well worded brother. Cheers!!!!
Nice!
Did the suspension get a mention? Active?
No active suspension.
Most likely on the S model in a year or two, which seems to be how Ducati does things at the moment.
£23k! I bought a new gen 2 for £13.5k Woohoo! I guess the V4 engine is worth a few bob extra.
got a v4 pp,is it drive like one that only change the look
I thought about applying for the job. But I figured I could never do the job half as good as Neevsy, so let a better man than me get the job.
Making me want one! Should chop in my Multi 1260
But how does it handle damp curvy backroads with potholes? Every bike is nice in these conditions 🤷
New dream bike identified
Where do I sign. 👍
Top review!
The V2 attracted me to this bike. Well, buy a used one I guess!
I wouldn't want to touch this monstrosity of a bike outside of a warranty. The repair bill will be horrendous
Great valve and oil service intervals but what about the belt change. Most of my riding in the lower rev range would make this a very expensive parallel twin to own.
It's a v4
It has a timing chain so no belt to change.

Yeah maybe. I just hoped it was a bit more outrageous
@@chrisindubai its probably outrageous enough ;)
Just got back from a V4 demo and I can confirm that it has a deep, rich, loud rumble... it sounds brilliant.
I think they f’ed up the design! The previous was spot on
Probably not the bike for me, but I'd absolutely love an oppprtunity to throw a leg over one and take it out for a spin.
And of course, brilliant review by Neevesy as always.
Great bike, the only issue is the old one looks much better specifically xdiavel s. Imo anyway.
Wow look how far Ducati have come since first 851 fabulous shame Triumph didn't go same way instead of of old man route retro stuff.
Was that some peg scraping I heard?
“creamy midrange” really sells it. was there anything moist about idk the seat or anything?
I have to talk my wife into a $600 a month bike payment.
I wanna trade in my Ducati Monster with this one when it is available.
Diavel or MT10SP??? Oh the choices...
Very brave from Ducati to throw another awfully expensive bike on the market whilst the economic environment is not exactly favourable to spend money on luxury extravagance. However, I am sure Ducati did their homework to find out if there are enough lucky ones among us who can afford this Italian beauty.
Your next long-term test bike? 😉
Cool! If you want a 90's VMAX with non of the excitement, pickup the Audi sponsored red flag 2023 Ducati Diavel!
is that an fpv drone? NICE
Love to see a more affordable v2
The 1260 is a v twin....
Rear lights will be a pig to clean. Tooth brushes at the ready.
Mike is that a cheapy watch strap from amazon place..
I’ll stick to my Z 💪🏻
Lovely bike but hideously expensive. For this price I would expect full Ohlins suspension, nothing less. A bit overpriced I think. 18-19 grand in todays market would be more realistic. Great review as usual from Neevsy.
There is only a lack of money that right now stands in the way between me and this bike. Stay away from it y'all, its niche, its mine!
我就是在等這台車~~~~~
That 4-muffler cluster looks horrible. They should change it to a twin muffler like on the Diavel V2.
멋지네요... 타보고싶네요..
'We are in Abu Dhabi'............ (proceeds to show video of Burj Khalifa in Dubai!!!). 🤣😜
1:06 what? Looks nothing like the previous gen
Nobody is going to confuse this for a facelift, bike looks totally different
Not that keen on the looks. Preferred the earlier one. Needs to sound a bit meaner. They should make a V4 monster like this.
This pretty much is the V4 Monster, that's why it was referred to as the Mega Monster.
What is the point of v4 if it sounds and feels like v2 lol
To grab some of the existing V2 owners and also, in a lot of bikers' opinions, a V2 is the best-sounding engine.
Ah, now I see why Ducati are branding themselves as Luxury.
Test the new Harley davidson breakout.
??????
Stole the styling of the vmax, the last gen was more unique
