  • This video will show you how to drain and refill the cooling system on the 2011-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Make sure you use the correct coolant when refilling the 2011-2012 years use the HOAT (Orange) coolant and the 2013-2020 use the OAT (Purple) coolant and make sure you mix it 50/50 with distilled water only. Coolant was purchased from Amazon. I will provide a link for both concentrate and premixed OAT and HOAT coolant below. This procedure may also work on similar years of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Durango, Ram 1500, Dodge Journey, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Gladiator.

    Mopar 2013-2020 OAT 50/50 Premixed: amzn.to/3yy4nbJ

Here in my country (Morocco), the local dealer, who is directly run by FCA, has something wrong in execution performance, it is not a lack of skills or knowledge, but something to deeply fix with the employees’ motivation or their customer care acumen… when you bring your car to them, there are high chances you take it in a more broken down state than before.

      You can buy premixed which is already diluted 50/50 with water or you can buy the concentrate which is what I used in the video and that needs to be mixed with water. I prefer the concentrate because you get more coolant for the money.

    Hi accidentally put washer fluid in the coolent tank.. i have a 2014 and the coolent tank and washer tank look simalar (with the yellow cap and everything) it doesn't looked like it mixed yet cause the top fuild is blue and the bottom is orange still (when i use a flashlight i can see the line from where its coolant and washer fluid). I put about a half gallon in. Im not sure what i should do, if i should try siphoning put the windshield fluid or just let it be.

      If you can just try to extract it out with a turkey baster or a fluid extractor like this amzn.to/3OQEsW9 but if you don’t get it all out you should be fine because washer fluid is mainly water with a little bit of alcohol. The alcohol will most likely vaporize once it warms up.

    Got a question, just replaced my coolant reservoir and AC/ condenser as well as radiator. I was having a small leak somewhere. I changed upper and lower radiator hoses as well and still have a leak only when driving for a long period of time. I think I found a leak at the bottom of the coolant reservoir, there is a black rigged hose that is at the bottom. Do you know what the purpose of that hose is ?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  6 місяців тому

      That hose is there for when the coolant reservoir gets to full especially while driving long distances your coolant will start to get very hot and expand in your reservoir and eventually can leak out of that hose if there’s to much coolant in the system. Did you fill the coolant reservoir to full after you replaced it?

      Just squeezing the upper radiator hose while filling will help get the air out and whatever is left in the system will eventually work its way out of the coolant reservoir.

      No bleeder screw just keep squeezing the upper radiator hose to get the air bubbles out. Then start it with the cap off and turn heater on high then check your level and add any if it needs it then replace cap take it for a drive or let it idle until the thermostat opens up or when your upper radiator hose is hot then let it cool overnight and recheck level and top off if needed. By they way I didn’t have time to check my daughters car I will try and do that this evening to see what the egr valve sounds like.

      @@Orchidstep Dex-cool is a HOAT coolant, not an OAT coolant. Jeep/Chrysler was using HOAT before 2000 then switched to OAT. HOAT is good for 5 years or 100K OAT is good for 10 years or 150K. BTW, HOAT stands for Hybrid Organic Acid Technology and OAT is Organic Acid Technology.
