    Carol, thank you so much for sharing these very personal experiences. I cannot believe the very people who are supposed to be helping people make healthy decisions are allowing such things to take place. Our hormones are a crucial part of our bodily health systems and they are playing Frankenstein with vulnerable people because they truly care only about creating constant customers and continuous money flow to their detriment. This is infuriating to me. I will continue to share your message where I can. ♥

    Hey Carol. It’s Ami. I was on Twitter for some time, but haven’t been very active cause I needed time to process my detransition. Everything you’re saying is so so important and correct. For me, I ended up developing high blood pressure and am working on regulating that now. I also developed a panic disorder. I also developed an over active bladder, which I’m also working on treating. None of that is ever really discussed as part of informed consent. I wish it was :(

    When I was on T for almost 2 years my hair thinned out very much and I got a small bald spot at the front of my head. I wasn't prepaired for this because there are absolutely no bald men in my family at all. So my hairloss wasn't genetic. Also was the standard dose of T too much for my body. The T stayed very long in my system. I wasn't prepaired for this either. It isn't normal that T stayes in your body for more than a year after quitting. I was using Nebido every 12 weeks. Also my belly became full of water retention after 1,5 years of T and the side were my liver is, became thicker. This side is still thicker. It still looks as a lump. Although my liver was okay at the bloodwork. So I still don't known what was going on during that time. The doctors couldn't give me an explanation. Now I think in retrospective that maybe the standard dose Nebido was too much for my age. I was almost in menopause when I started my transition. The first year on T was great. I lost a lot of fat and I got muscles very easily. My body improved significantly. But after my mastectomy and after 1,5 year on T I got the vage problems described above. So I stopped my transition. Although mentally it wasn't easy for me to stop with my transition because living as a transgender man was easier for me than living as a masculine woman to be honest. Socially and mentally I experienced so many problems as a masculine gay woman. For example going to the hairdresser was always an obstacle. I always wanted a masculine quiff but I never got one. The hairdressers always gave me the pixie hairstyle I didn't want and on top of that charged me double the price as for men. Shopping for clothes was also a struggle. I could never find the clothes I wanted at the women's department. So shopping as a transman at the men's department was so much easier and more fun. Also dating became easier for me because when you love masculinity you can identify yourself as a gay transman who prefers dating other transmen. When dating as a gay masculine woman who loves other gay masculine women was always impossible because the majority of masculine gay women want a femmine girlfriend. When I was dating a masculine woman she always tried to change me in a femme, which I was not. Long story short; as a gay woman my masculinity was never appreciated in society, not even by other gay women.

    Hey Carol,
    First off, I fully support you speaking your story. I’m only partway into this video but just wanted to add something:
    I’ve been on testosterone for about 10y - a decision I was able to make carefully and soberly in my mid-20s, with a great physician and therapist who had no agendas. So, what’s happening today to young people makes me sad.
    The thing I wanted to add though is that, while I may be in a small minority, I actually haven’t experienced any vaginal changes. I’m mostly attracted to men and mostly prefer the standard “option” of interaction (trying to not get censored by YT lol), so I’ve had plenty of opportunities to confirm with my partner(s). No loss of moisture or self lubrication, and no atrophy as far as I can tell (no pain, tearing, bleeding, and no abnormalities spotted by my dr during wellness checks).
    Again, I’m glad you’re shining a light on this issue and your experience, and I’m sure I’m in the minority. I was also in the minority before transitioning though, as I can count on one hand the times I’ve ever needed additional moisture added, so maybe that starting point made a difference.
    Anyways - keep speaking on your experiences! Although I’m sure you get your share of hate and negativity, just know there are people who are happy with their transitions who support you having a voice.

    • @SourPatches2077
      @SourPatches2077  Рік тому +7

      You very much are a unique case. There are whole ftm subreddits talking about this issue. And since atrophy is caused by low levels of estrogen this would mean that atrophy is a “normal” side effect of ftm transition. So why aren’t doctors upfront about it and have treatments available?

      @DannyD-lr5yg well, it makes no sense that u have no estrogen as a woman, and ur not experiencing what she said. Well, I was on estrogen as a man I had ed, and I could never get off at all. It was awful. How are u so lucky? Ru intersex and don't function like the rest of us?

    • @DannyD-lr5yg
      @DannyD-lr5yg 2 місяці тому +1

      @@JordansSpears I didn’t say I “have no estrogen.” While my menstrual cycle has stopped, I do still continue to have some amount of estrogen and progesterone in my system. I haven’t had a hysterectomy, and I don’t take any blockers for female hormones.
      People born male who want to transition DO have to “block” their dominant natal hormone (testosterone), but people born female typically don’t need to block estrogen/progesterone because testosterone is much stronger.
      Anyways, maybe the fact I don’t have super low estrogen IS why I haven’t had those issues. I’m not sure. All I know is I pay ~$200-300 per year without insurance, pass fully as a man, and have a great and healthy sex life. I’m now aware that’s not the case for many, and I do feel for them.
      As for whether I’m intersex: I don’t know, actually. Maybe. I’ve never gotten tested, or checked my chromosomes.

    No offence: but a lot of these Trans stories seem like the people have Munchausen Syndrome. They love visiting doctors frequently and being centre of attention and studied by medical experts and provided with weekly data on their blood-work and hormone levels. They enjoy the medical attention.

    Great point on the female bodybuilders competitors which btw take pretty much the same amount as an FTM , usually 100mg of propionate per week or less , but it must be said that they use on top of testosterone other anabolic androgenic steroids that causes virilisation too , like Anavar , and loop diuretics and Clenbuterol , DNP and a number of compounds that literally shaves years of life off these females , it isn't only due to Test .
    Just out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking , how much T did you use to take? Was it enanthate , cypionate or gels , patches ? Did you inject once a week only ? Some side effects can be mitigated through administration frequency management. Thank you for this video .

    If I were ever interested in testosterone it would be in to have the qualities that males have that generally women don't have.
    For example, confidence in just about everything, an emotional detachment and willingness to take risks. What about taking low doses of t, but not to transition?

    • @SourPatches2077
      @SourPatches2077  Місяць тому +4

      What makes you think testosterone gives men that? Those attributes are found in both sexes. The difference is girls and women get shamed for them and men get praised for them.

    • @j.j.l.
      @j.j.l. Місяць тому +1

      Re emotional detachment, I had forgotten what it was like to feel-deeply feel-my feelings over the 13 years I was on T. Now that I can cry again and really feel my feelings, you couldn’t pay me a million dollars to go back. Looking back, it was hell. I didn’t see it, though, until now. I’ve never before been grateful to be a woman until now. What started out as a dream ended up being a betrayal-a betrayal of myself and of my womanhood.

    So you don´t believe nor see clear evidence BIBLE BEING TRUE AND ACCURETE about our lives?
    Proverbs 3:5chapter context similar meaning copy save Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
    We do the opposite, we, the mankind do lean on our own understanding and we all see clear consequences of it.
    People believing all kinds of lies, the most popular ones:
    - having gendered brain, as the "trans" believe, male brain in female`s body and the other way. Here i ask, since when and how so that a brain can have a gender? Are gender not between one`s legs. For being gendered being = having reproducing tools.
    - being home. (gay, lesbian and all other labels).
    - living in a globe,
    - GOD ain´t real. (DO WE LIKE IT OR NOT GOD IS REAL and we are HIS creation).
    - That this world ain´t gonna end. For reminding logic here: Everything that had a beginning shall have also an end.
    - The earth had a beginning and therefore shall have an end also,
    - Mankind had a beginning, and had an end, then had another beginning and now, in this age and time, shall have and permanent end. On this fallen earth, for mankind, no 3th chance found no longer. For we had our 2nd chance, what we did? - we blow it up. We became evil and sick again.
    And now, all that we see, hear and witness, are all the consequences of our evil doings.
    Psalms 145:18chapter context similar meaning copy save The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Psalms 55:16chapter context similar meaning copy save As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Psalms 18:3chapter context similar meaning copy save I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Isaiah 55:6chapter context similar meaning copy save Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
    AND:
    1 Corinthians 6:18chapter context similar meaning copy save Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Acts 15:29chapter context similar meaning copy save That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. 1 Corinthians 5:1chapter context similar meaning copy save It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. Acts 15:20chapter context similar meaning copy save But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. Acts 21:25chapter context similar meaning copy save As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. 1 Thessalonians 4:3chapter context similar meaning copy save For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: Revelation 17:2chapter context similar meaning copy save With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
    Care about your OWN SOUL, and get it saved. Heavenly Home awaits and ye are more then your flesh, YE ARE SPIRIT BEING. And you`r HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO IS ALSO SPIRIT, awaits you back HOME.

    All these side effects and things you are talking about are on the Informed consent paper. No offense but how did you not know this stuff would happen? It's all on the Informed consent and if you researched hrt Testosterone side effects you would have read all of these. Did you do any research prior to transitioning? Look I'm not trying to be mean, but it seems like you didn't do a lot of research. Also you were obviously not fully informed by your doctor and that's not cool, so the doc failed you too. I’m not trans, I just have had multiple misdiagnosis and medical mistakes. I have rarely had enough information to give informed consent, yet they have many papers with my signature saying I understand. Half the time the paperwork in on a computer and the computer doesn’t even have the information, it says ask the doctor for a copy and of course the doctor says oh we’ll bring a copy by later we don’t actually have any right now…these are “normal” procedures and treatments. I’m not surprised people suffering from body dysmorphia aren’t getting this information.
