It's not a drive by, but I have a clip with a mic attached close to the exhaust during an auto X that I just posted! Sounds great in there, but let me know if you'd rather have a drive by or similar 👍
Did you noticed more tq down low but lost power in the higher gears? From what I read on the forums a free flow down pipe without a turbo upgrade hurts performance in 4th gear but gives you more grunt 1-3rd. What is your take on that?
As far as that goes, I have noticed a great amount of torque in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear, then 4th gear starts to fall off when you get to about 4.5-5k rpm. Horsepower wise, it starts to fall off around 5.5k or so in 3rd and 4th. 5th gear pretty much just gets you to 130-140. 3rd gear is the most solid performance wise out of all of them, but 4th is not as bad as people make it out to be. I have the stock turbo with catted DP, so the torque is going to be significantly higher than HP no matter what. I haven't tested E30 yet cause of my class restrictions, so couldn't tell you much about that either.
As long as you dont over rev it a lot coming out of your driveway/neighborhood, i dont think people will have an issue with you. It is louder, but not annoying or window shattering. Btw sorry for the late response!
@HappyHill's Garage cheers mate, no worries at all and thanks for the advice, main reason I'm worried is because I'm already running a 3" scorpion non res 😂 I need the sports cat to go stage 2 but with 7am starts atm idk if I can risk it
@@Dan-vg1pjI mean, this one does start up kinda loud during cold starts. But if you aren't incredibly close to a neighbors house, I'd say ur good. It is mostly just more burbly
It is just the sound with the upgraded DP and Catback. I had a JST custom e-tune at the time, and never once have had a crackle/pop tune lol. Not a fan of those. I now have a dyno tune, which still has those amazing "natural" burbles and occasional gun shot, haha. And if you want the most out of the car I highly recommend the dyno tune.
Not too sure what you mean by mini cat, but if you are referring to a smaller amount of cells in the cat then I would say it might make it a little louder.
I love the sound of the catted dp from woosh. But I do plan on going hybrid turbo setup. Is the catted dp to restrictive for that? Or is it free flowing enough for the upgrade? Don't want to bottle neck it!
I never swapped my turbo, so I can't give you a conclusive answer. But I know my custom tune saw that the new DP allowed significantly more flow than stock, so I'd personally say it should more than work for the hybrid turbo! I'd send Ron an email at Whoosh if you have in depth questions though.
@@happyhills_garage thank you! Did check the site and said the catted dp is good for 400hp and good with hybrid turbo setups! So definitely the way I'm going to go. Thanks!
Just curious at the time did u swap the inter cooler as well I was debating doing both at the same time cuz I’ve been told I should but ya know money 😂
I didnt do that at the same time lol. I actually swapped the IC months before the downpipe. And I totally understand where you're coming from as far as money goes lol 😅
Do you a have a catted downpipe and the Milltek Non Res Race catback System?, How is the sound, I am about to buy this same set up and I will deeply appreciate if you can give me some reviews about, thank you
I have them both, yeah! The sound is insanely good. Even from just swapping out the catback, the Milltek sounds incredible. You can hear my stock to after sound comparison here ua-cam.com/video/b8jrQ5YhE7Y/v-deo.html on my channel as well 👍. As you can hear in this video, the catted downpipe gives the car a nice deep tone and burbles. Also, you don't need a straight pipe to create gunshots lmao. Not sure if they've turned into fireballs or not, but many times I have created a loud bang from shifting just right into second, third and fourth. If you watch my Autocross view comparison video ua-cam.com/video/_CtAk5onBLE/v-deo.html , I had a mic right next to the exhaust tip and you can hear the awesome tones. As for drone, I don't have any noticeable drone, even at highway speeds. Or it's so little that I just don't care. I took out my symposer and it actually sounds a lot better without the artificial sounds.
@@happyhills_garage excellent, how much did you paid for those, and what other products did you use for Installation, I mean, did you buy poly hangers, adapters, etc?
@@andrew00175 I paid just under $1000 for the DP and Catback from Whoosh Motorsports. I did eventually buy their poly hangers as well. The stock ones are garbage and the exhaust rattles on the body with the stock ones. The Whoosh ones are sturdy and reliable 👌!
after you installed the downpipe did u immediately tune it or did u wait or did u already have it tuned. asking cause i’m looking to get a downpipe but not sure if i wanna wait to where i have enough money to afford a tune with it or if i can run without one and then get it later on

For me there isn't enough to bother me. It gets more noticeable starting around 80-90 mph. My car is fairly stiff already so I don't really get bothered by feeling and hearing everything the car does lmao.
@@happyhills_garage Sup my man... I have the Friedrich Downpipe with the Sports kat lying around and I wonder as well if it will be too much for longer trips. I do longer trips on the weekends with 140kph Autobahn travel. Will it be much louder inside then stock?
@@francisnorthwood7862 honestly not a whole lot. Even with the non-res catback there isn't an abundance of annoying drone. I think 140kph is ~80mph, so around 85 is where the drone may start getting more noticeable. But I don't think it will bother you enough to care
