My son helped me buy my first gun in my 60s . I now own six and want more. My only regret is that I didn't start buying guns sooner. I love going to the range.
Same here, only it was my daughter that got me hooked. And i’ll tell you what. I love revolvers. 22’s once a week. With an occasional bigger caliber in the mix
When i lived in NJ i owned a 22lr, a 9mm and a 45acp. And i once thought like you. But when i moved to FL i learned there's no such thing as too many guns. What you should do is invest in a quality safe that will support your current and future inventory.
Feel sorry for you bud.Your punishing yourself and cant see the joy in the design and function of different guns.Ever look at a nice quality stainless revolver? Works of art.Ever see a 40 yr old beretta with perfect blued finish? Ever pick up a hundred year old colt and be amazed how it still works perfectly? You can still train with your tactical go to ,carry, gun and enjoy the others for the mechanical wonders that they are.Its not always about money.
I rarely get to go the shooting range much as I like because the ones close to me closed up and to go shooting I have to drive a lot further than I want but I get a lot of enjoyment just by taking some of my older guns out to admire their quality of build, beauty of the finish and so on, I have a few handguns that are blued while wiping them down as it makes a rainbow of colors from the light shining on bluing think to myself Man look at that deep blue finish, They sure dont make them like this anymore! Have a few Military surplus rifles like that will rack the bolt a few times and feel the weight of the rifle and think I bet to make a rifle of this quality today it would cost thousands of dollars, even a SKS that was once considered a 100 dollar gun is better in quality that most semi auto rifles you can buy today
And how can you decide between a pump action or a semi auto shotgun... or double barrel coach gun just for fun? And no one should be forced to decide between an AR and an AK
I am a “collector” I’m 55 and I have collected firearms since I was 16, I live in Alabama, one of the best places to live to purchase firearms, I go in fill out the paperwork, sometimes I’m out with my firearm in 30 minutes sometimes a couple of days, if I haven’t heard anything by 5 days by law I can pick it up! I have calibers from 22 to 45 in pistols and 22 to 308 in rifles, I don’t accessorize my firearms, I’ve stocked ammo for years, when we shoot we do it at someone’s property and we bring everything we have and shoot for hours! I have 0 regrets about anything I’ve purchased, I love my 2nd amendment right to bear arms!
@@timpowell8689 Alabama is the eighth poorest state in the US. I guess if the residents aren't earning compounded interest on their money, they might as well buy more guns.
Whatever. I have 40 guns because I collect them and I can pass them down to my kid, I like the craftsmanship, I like the Innovation over the years. Not like looking at them. So what
There are a variety of strategies different individuals employ considering this issue. I wasn't going to buy any more because I had reached what I wanted. Then someone called offering a basically new rifle at 2/3rds the price. Now I have all my requirements, plus 1.
I’ve lived on a farm for the last several decades. Have my own range ( pretty elaborate) and have shot tens of thousands of rds through multiple guns, and I reload. Frequently I’ve hosted new acquaintances and 98% of the time they’ll show up with their entire (or majority) collection and proceed to shoot them all badly. On one occasion I met two guys at a gun store I frequent and when the owner mentioned that I had a range hinting, I extended them an invitation and the next Saturday they showed up with one gun each. One with a Glock 19 and the other with an extremely worn 1911 in 9 mm. ( this was pre 2011s). I, of course showed up with my top 5 favorites. They suggested that we do some drills, and in short order I realized that they were both highly skilled competitive shooters. At the end of our shooting session I thanked them for the training and asked what I needed to work on. One of them suggested a couple of technical things, the older guy looked down at my five prized possessions, smiled and said “BEWARE OF THE MAN WITH ONE GUN”. Fast forward 15/yrs. I still have too many but I only regularly shoot three, my 15 yr old Sig P 238 (EDC), my CZ Shadow 2 range practice, home defense and friendly competition, and finally my Colt 1911 converted to 460 Rowland for my hunting personal protection. Good video, very sound advice!
How about this. Stop buying into a bunch of gimmicks that were formed around Hollywood movies. It’s such an enormous waste of resources. I have an ar7, Glock 34, Glock 26, keltec ksg 12, and Springfield saint victor 5.56. Silencers for every single one except the Glock 26. If you tell me that’s not good enough you really need to get a serious reality check.
I dont regret buying too many guns, I regret not buying certain ones when the prices were low , I remember being able to buy WW-2 German KAR 98K Mauser rifles with the nazi mark for pretty cheap along with a lot of other military surplus rifles and handguns that were almost in collector grade condition at gun shows, Used to see Russian SKS rifles for 150 dollars or Makarov pistols , Swedish Mausers , But I was more focused on the AR 15 or AK47 craze 20 years ago, I used to also see plenty of nice Smith and Wesson revolvers for a steal during that time ,because everybody wanted the Glocks and other semi auto pistols with large magazine capacity and the revolvers were overlooked, I should have bought those guns, but at the time I thought, I have seen those old guns everywhere cheap for years and the prices never move, I can always buy any of those guns, But its like the world went insane over night, all of sudden all those old guns that were worthless for decades became better investments than a gun that costs a thousand dollars! For example years ago I bought a stainless steel Taurus PT92 years ago for 400 dollars, it a beautiful pistol that is reliable and accurate, but today it is has not gained in value at all and I would be lucky to get 400 for it and a gun shop would probaly only give me 250 in trade in value, But If I had bought a 100 dollar Mosin Nagant at the same time that I bought my PT92, that 100 dollar Mosin today would have appreciated in value 300% or more
I agree with most of this. I would say at least 2 AR's. You have to have a backup. Also a full size handgun and a compact. I wish I would have spent more on training and ammo instead of more guns.
Thank you for putting g this out. I just bought my first pistol and instantly realized what you were talking about was exactly where my head was going. Will be focusing on becoming a master of one before taking on any new ones. 👍
Man, you hit it dead on. This is my 3rd go-around collecting guns. I find that I like to shoot my guns rather than just collecting them. I can really identify with all the points you have made. You really just need to spend the time and money on practicing with just a few guns. It can really get complicated if you don't simplify the process.
I think this was the video I needed. I'm sitting here waiting for my FFID to come through with my two pistol permits. Watching guntube, browsing deal sites. Getting myself all frothy. This is a good reality check.
I would say buy just one 9mm compact handgun for home defense, one slim subcompact 9mm handgun for EDC, one 22lr pistol or revolver for training at the range and one AR-15 rifle in 5.56 will full accessories and red dot for SHTF. Just those 4 guns. Just those 3 types of ammo (9mm, 22lr, and 5.56). . That's the most basic set of tools that you need. It's not worth it to go beyond that if you don't live in rural areas. If you do, then I would add theee more firearms: Only one full size 10mm handgun for beasts protection, one shotgun and one .308 rifle. That's it.
This video translates to so many hobbies! Literally every hobby becomes overkill spending if you let it. So whatever that hobby is, buy with purpose, not for quantity. You’re allowed to do whatever you want though.
And buying only one or even a few is dumb bro. Its like anything else, why do you like more then one kind of food, one kind of drink or one kind of anything. NEVER stop buying as much as your heart desires! In the beginning concentrate on LOTS of ammo & training with your EDC yes BUT once you have thousands of rounds or more for your EDC/EDC’s per caliber, BUY BUY BUY MORE GUNS!
Intended to rewatch the video cuz I think you mentioned something to the effect that you should buy guns that are all chambered in the same caliber. If I have that right, I would challenge you on that, only for this reason: I have a lot of guns (cuz I caught the same illness as you when I first started shooting lol) but the gun I carry is a 9mm Sig Sauer 229 Legion. However during the pandemic, when it was really hard to get 9mm, I was still able to buy .44 magnum, .357, and .38. Not that I was regularly carrying any guns chambered in those calibers, but I still had those options if necessary. Just my thoughts.
First off he lives in a bullshyt state . Second he’s talks about anxiety over choosing which gun to take to the range already sounds like a man that didn’t mature enough lol
Yep, that makes a lot of sense. I have a 9mm and all that was said is true, but I have a 45 and it’s the most fun to shoot, and I just love the round. I have a 357 snub nose too that’s cool that I reload for. They all serve different purposes, so it makes sense to me. However, if you can keep your guns secure and you can afford it, there shouldn’t really be a limit. You might feel crazy about it sometimes but we should take advantage of our freedom to own what we want. Some people don’t have that choice.
People will hate on this take but it makes good sense. You only have 2 hands and a certain amount of ammo. Never understood buying a bunch of similar handguns you won't shoot regularly or even close.
Am I the only one slogging a case of 12+ pistols and 3-4 rifles every range trip? I personally need a rifle for every pistol and a pistol for every rifle which means if I buy one, I buy two. Sometimes it's two pistols but then I have to buy 2 rifles. It's a sickness.
Great advice. It is so easy to think "wow, if I could just get that one..." The truth of the matter is that the gun(s) you have now are probably just fine and focussing down on one ammo type (I am at three with 9mm, 357/38, and 45, so that ship has sailed) is sensible. I would add that spending money on a solid laser dry fire product is a good idea. A big issue for most of us is the flinch. I have not gotten rid of it totally but having the dry fire with the laser ammo has helped tremendously.
A lot of hobbies are like this. People start small, realize they are in to it, and start moving up the ladder. The best advice is to make sure you are in to it FIRST. Then get the model you really want FIRST. The money spent moving up the ladder will add up quickly and you will be stuck with a collection that is inferior. Selling BOTL and MOTL items is a pain and almost always result in lost money.
NJ stepped it up decently & recently, i waited only 3 weeks exactly for my none resident CCL. Now you NJ residents need to work on the astronomical costs they charge! One of the absolute most expensive by far.
Honestly, I have to say most handguns are pretty straightforward. Once you learn how to use one it’s pretty simple to learn how to use the others. I don’t think that’s a valid argument for “don’t waste your money because you’ll have to learn each handgun Because you don’t know how to use it. it’s nice to have a array of tools to choose from. if that’s what people wanna do then that’s no problem. Honestly, this video just kept making the same point over and over again which was don’t buy them because they’re expensive. Firearms are a hobby and passion for many of us
Hey Jay, live in new jersey as well. I completely agree with you. Made the same mistake. I always recommend one or two guns. Then invest in ammo and training. Especially a stop the bleed course, basic first aid and cpr. Let's be honest. Chances are you will use that knowledge before any firearm skills. Keep the videos coming. Stay safe. God bless
I like the warm & fuzzy feeling of trying to decide which weapon am I in the MOOD to take out today. I do agree to your 9MM ammo falling into the affordability dept! But on the other hand I can’t leave out the FUN I get by using a 22LR either in a AR-15-22, or with my FN502 handgun. On a more friendly basses you reside in NJ, and I reside in a solid Red state, with many Public outdoors ranges so there are so many more options to have fun, we are not restricted to an indoor gun ranges only like in your state.🤝 You should really take a deeper look into the new trend that is taking hold, PC9Carbine Rifles. They are amazing, they all are making them now. Ruger, Black Rain, Springfield, S&W etc…
I agree with your first two firearm choices, BUT i think you should get the third gun- a .22 LR pistol. It's easy to shoot and can help you build on your marksmanship skills for a lot less cost than 9mm ammo.
Totally agree with you. I made the same mistake. Fortunately I realized that before it got much worse. When I buy a gun, I have a specific purpose for it: this one is for my bedroom, this is my EDC, that one is for my wife, and that's for a SHTF situation etc. I don't buy accessories for every gun. For example, my EDC has no red dot or light because I think they will hinder its concealability, and I don't think a red dot will make a huge difference in a gun fight that happens within a few yards. Still, I would have bought fewer guns if I could go back in time
👍Well said I agree with that ! No red dot on an EDC either..( too bulky) Also having a "back up/ alternate EDC is very important and often overlooked..for example it will be taken for evidence in a self defense situation
I completely agree with you. I felt the market made me feel I needed to have a collection and 1 type of every style type of gun. In the end, after I spent too much money I've learned my lesson and kept it simple. An expensive lesson I need to say. Now I've shorten my collection to the basics and spend my money on ammo and lessons. I also contribute to 2A membership as well. I appreciate the firearms I have now and kept most of my money doing so.
Spot on. When I wanted my first gun, I wanted an HKP30SK. It was out of my budget. All I could get was just the gun. I ended up with a Taurus G3c, 1 training lesson, NJ CCW permit class , ammo, holster, and a lock box. Still have the G3c and love it. A year later, I bought a Bodyguard 2.0 for deep carry. Love it too. I rotate between them. Soon a AR15. Need to save up😊
He's really telling the truth because I have been told by many collective and normal people at the end of the day you need one or two handgun . I suggest 2 to3 handguns , your favorite shotgun, 4:52 what specialty gun and long rifle. Cause too many guns create a lot of problems like ammunition, magazines, etc. Another thing I noticed is that older people who got a ton of guns carry only one gun that they favor or master. And with the new laws coming out if a kid get their hands on a gun and shoot somebody you're reliable
You my friend are missing the point. You logic is flawed and you misguided. People who buy multiple guns are in the same category of people who have 3 or more vehicles. We buy because we like the engineering and purposeful use and then it becomes an “ n+1” situation. We follow trends verses needs. We only need one gun is a deceptive truth. One gun for self protection is true but what about everything outside of self defense. If you have a gun for hunting deer, one for ducks and birds , one for large game, one for concealed carry, one for my spouse, and one to practice cheaply. Putting all those things together under one gun does not compute. We also buy from what we saw on tv or in movies. I watched bonanza, the rifleman, combat, and all the assorted media that glorified certain guns. Buying guns , In my experience is about idenity and recognition. I don’t know any guy that owned guns that doesn’t want or have a lever action rifle , Walter PPk ( the James Bond pistol.) a series 70 1911 , Ruger ranch rifle with folding stock, bond derringer,a Thompson ( Chicago typewriter) an AR -15, and double barrel shotgun, a western single action revolver and a 12 gauge shotgun, just to name a few deep felt desires most gunners have as a collection that spans man’s journey through the history of firearms. I have yet to get to the home self defense weapon or large game or distance weapons. Guns, it is not about what we need , it’s more about the influences we have deep deep in our brains. I call it “subliminal persuasion”. You did speak the truth our left side of the brain understands and agrees with you but the right hand side of our brains don’t see you as one of us. We are irrational and driven by desires, we love the old guns and are drawn to the next great new firearm. It’s the way we are, enjoyed your vid and agree one gun is all you need but what fun is that?
Very well stated- he’s been in New Jersey too long maybe and should move to a free state. Guns are like tools- and the more variety of tools you have the greater the odds that you will have the one you need
Great video on an overlooked topic! I had to slim down my options based on what felt right to me. I felt fatigued on buying a new based on accessories and holsters. I've been approving my skill on the pistol with a okay trigger. I'm glad I stopped switching pistols and just focused on training. The benefits are wonderful!
So I kind of like this, just putting out my two cents on the topic, I personally have three rolls to fill when it comes to firearms: (in no specific order) concealed carry, plinker/training gun, and home defense, that's it. Good point on the training aspect, all three of my guns (two 9mm's and a .22lr) have 1000+ round through them (my .22 has goodness knows how many thousands of rounds through it) all that to say, with each one of these firearms I am very proficient with them.......however, the two 9mm's I have were not the first guns I used to fill those roles, and wouldn't you know it, when I got the replacement gun for said roles, I had to essentially start from scratch when it came to training. All that to say, loved the video, excellent points
Thank you. Some people are thinking about bit too hard when watching this video. Not trying to stop people from buying guns, just to train with what you have first before getting more. Thanks for watching.
In NJ you can technically apply for as many permits as you want at one time when you fill out the paperwork. 25 bucks a pop now. They are valid for 90 days but auto-renew at the 90 day mark for another 90 days, so they are essentially good for 180 days. One handgun per 30 days means you can get at most 6 handguns within that time frame. Realistically 5 handguns is more doable with the 30 day restriction. I am a fan of having a few different style of handguns and rifles like carry, competition, revolver, da/sa, 22lr, etc.... Everyone is different. I enjoy introducing people to 2A and i can introduce them to a bunch of different firearms so they can make an informed decision when it is time to buy without having to spend a ton on renting. Take that money aspect away and you can open the door for a lot of people to join our community. If you already have the firearms in the safe considering dusting them off, join a 2A club and get involved.
Yea, I miss the days when they were 2 or 3 dollars each! I just dont like the feeling of picking up one of my guns and being "surprised" by how it feels and shoots. I would rather consistency and repetition for the sake of training. Thanks for commenting and tuning in!
@@JayCostaUSA I get that. Don't get me wrong I still have my main for carry and competition, and then the side pieces some out once in a while. Enjoy the content....maybe I will catch you on a range someday.
Other than real estate , guns are one of the very few assets that appreciate in value over time. Quality firearms are an investment that the owner can enjoy and increases in value.
One, you're in a subjugated state. Two, money must be an issue to you for you to be complaining about how many guns you have. Three, we have private land out here where we at, so we train all the time, FOR FREE! As far as the children? We train our children down here to shoot and to know and abide by all of the safety rules concerning all factions of gun ownership and safety!
Got a 9mm micro-compact pistol for concealed carry... Got my Foldable MandP 9mm carbine for bedside ... Got my 556 Ar15 for if "shit hits the fan" for medium to long range. Got my big scary AR Shotgun for shit hits the fan close-medium range. All I will ever need. 100% locked in and plan on mastering them. Each has their separate place, and each has their separate use. Easy.😎
This guy lives in New Jersey, so his opinion is not valuable to those of us who live in Free States, LMAO. The only point he made that was worthwhile is that training and ammo are super important.
Jersey is not as bad as he makes it sound. We have many many ranges, and in south jersey we have acres we live on, so we have our own ranges. And yes we can also purchase ammo on line. Pawn shops dont sell weapons but i have at least 4 gun shops within 20 mile radius
@@Brandi6666sorry bud but Newjerseyslovakia IS as bad or worse....WHY on earth do I need references on a permit to purchase while I'm wearing a carry gun? ...and we also have a DUTY to retreat from violent CRIMINALS....leaving this shitpile soon and can't wait
True, I reached such a conclusion a few years back. I know the gun manufacturers do not like to hear this. It is bad for business. Beware of the guy with only one gun because he knows who to use it!
I'd rather have 5 sick high end guns than 20 low or mid range. Buy once cry once. Spent 1300 on a pistol today for the house. I'll probably buy a sick ar15 and a carry gun next and be done unless I get a shotty way down the line.
I own 2. My first one was a Glock 22 Gen 5. Shoot almost 2500 rounds. The second one is a Beretta A300 Ultima 12 gauge (I haven't fired any rounds yet). To me, how I looked at this: 1- Do not buy too many firearms (Unless you are not going to use them in range) 2- Stick to one framework 3- 9mm is best, but my first caliber was .40 S&W Wishlist: 1- AR-15 or Rugr 10/22 2- Glock 19 or Sig Sauer P320
i’ve bought, traded and sold so many guns there’s no way i can remember how many. now that i’m getting older, i take 2 pistols to the range and training classes. my edc and nightstand pistols. the rest collect dust in the safe.
Thank you so much for this video. My mind has exactly been thinking about all the points recently. With each new gun I purchase, I'm less happier as I feel I don't have enough ammo to keep up or that I can't afford to buy accessories for all of them to effectively train and protect myself , and also other things you mentioned.
Sorry what? Too many guns? No such thing!!! Summer carry is different to winter carry. Competition shooting is optic or open or classic or standard? I’m on 6 and that’s not even close. I’m in South Africa and not even in America. I was born in the wrong country.🤣🤣🤣
lol I have two open permits in dirty Jersey that expire in a few months ….do I let the 25 dollar permit expire or spend 650-1500 on a handgun just so I don’t waste the 25…wasting 25 bucks would be a shame
Totally agree! Finally, someone said it. Theres so many vids out there on upgrades and reviews. Scaled down to a minimalist approach, you need a primary (carbine), a full size seconday and a carry (pistol), and a tertiary (shotgun) weapon system. Four guns - Three calibers - Thats it. If you have just one choice for each system its based on reliability, user friendliness, and capable and plentiful ammo. Thats your guage for making those choices.
I totally agree with you! I Currently own 5 handguns getting ready to purchase another. I don't live in a free state such like yourself. But I am allowed up to 8 handguns coming from former law enforcement. One of my firearms is an m&p compact 9mm as well which I shoot pretty accurately. That is the one I am very comfortable with carrying everywhere! But after listening and agreeing with your content here I am going to concentrate and really focus on training. It is more important than talking about how many guns one may have. It means absolutely nothing if you don't train with them! I'm pretty certain that I will include my next purchase choice in rotation. But the others basically sit in the safe as you stated. I will clean them from time to time. But I really don't do any modifications to any of them. Great video and content. I'm sure many can identify!
I hear you. For a beginner or someone with a limited budget, it is important to strategize and prioritize. Something like this for example, 1. Home defense firearm 2. 556 Rifle 3. CC 4. Plinker 5. Hunting rifle The less calibers and brands the better. Also aware of training and accessories. People can do what they want and what they can afford, but it's seems to me like a lot of people just buy buy and buy aimlessly and I prefer to be more strategic and intentional
I feel like you made this video specifically for me. Thank you for that! My wife said I could have 1 gun. That was 3 months ago. Now I have 4. And I sure wish I didn’t. Excellent video, thanks for expressing my regret and letting me know that I’m not the only one. ❤
I have 33 firearms and he’s absolutely right! I’m a collector but this economy has taken away the fun of buying. I have TTIs, Nighthawks, Atlas, and Staccato’s. It’s definitely an expensive hobby
Cool feedback man. Question as a newly registered NJ FID holder and already 1 AR and 3 handguns in what range do you think is best in NJ (Sussex county area) thanks in advanced
Part 2 I'm a retired correctional officer and one thing I always remember from the academy was my shooting instructor, he always used to say that if you can't take a treat down with two slugs a gun is not for you.
honestly after i turned 21 i kept buying a ton of strike-fire 9mms I really couldn't afford. Prolly gonna get some hate but how many strike-fire 9mms does a fella really need?
To hunt, you want the versatility of multiple firearms and shotguns. They are also an investment that gets better with age and make a great inheritance too. Instead of going smaller for summertime, go bigger and rock the fanny-pack/shoulder bag. Great content and well said for your situation.
Honestly I think 10 really good quality guns is all you’ll ever actually need, put the rest into ammo, gold and supplies for when SHTF. 1. Handgun for the wife 2. Bedside gun 3. EDC 4. Semi auto Hunting Shotgun 5. 16 inch AR-15 6. SBR or 14.5 pin and weld AR-15 7. 308 Rifle 8. 22 LR 9. Another EDC Incase ur one gets taken 10. Either another EDC or bedside handgun or a pump action.
Quality content Jay. I have my home defense and im waiting now for my next permit to get my carry weapon. Question... Did you say each permit in NJ will allow you 3 handgun purchases?
I see your point. I caught myself, bought 4 guns several shotguns and a lever rifle. They’re just sitting there. I just maybe 3 out of all the ones I have.
these are all terrible and subjective reasons, I question your credibility as gun guy, let alone a guntuber if youre gonna say "they all shoot the same". The only thing you said worth while is ammo and training, other than that you just sound like some sort of double agent trying to get people not to buy guns
I started when I turned 50, and had the money at the time, knowing that I would not have the money later, bought a variety of handguns, rifles, shotguns. I knew that I would end up trading to get what I would end up with over next several years after trying and trading. 13 years later, I have what I want and love to carry or have strategically located in my house. Life us good as one of my favorite gunners (Hickok 45) says.
The more guns I have the more happy I am.
Lol me and you BOTH MY GUY 😊
Absolutely 💯

My son helped me buy my first gun in my 60s . I now own six and want more. My only regret is that I didn't start buying guns sooner. I love going to the range.
Same here, only it was my daughter that got me hooked. And i’ll tell you what. I love revolvers. 22’s once a week. With an occasional bigger caliber in the mix
Started at 18 I have 0 regret. We'll maybe one my first was 450 bushmaster and now poor 😆
No shit. For the price of a box of cartridges. You can't have that much fun at the bar if you spent twice that. Deals on ammo are popping up.
Theyre a good investment. Surplus prices have sky rocketed. A once undesirable firearm is now saught after by nearly everyone.
True especially older guns from militaries. A case of grands back in the day $100s now one is $1000.
Only 7? Those are rookie numbers kid. Gotta step it up. 😂😂

*LMAO!!!!!!*
Each permit to purchase in NJ is 25 dollars, absolute horse shit so it adds up
That's more than enough weirdo 🙄

If they buy less than more for us at a cheaper price.

I have calibers from 22 to 45 in pistols and 22 to 308 in rifles, I don’t accessorize my firearms, I’ve stocked ammo for years, when we shoot we do it at someone’s property and we bring everything we have and shoot for hours!
Beware the man with many guns, because he can arm more people

How about this. Stop buying into a bunch of gimmicks that were formed around Hollywood movies. It’s such an enormous waste of resources. I have an ar7, Glock 34, Glock 26, keltec ksg 12, and Springfield saint victor 5.56. Silencers for every single one except the Glock 26. If you tell me that’s not good enough you really need to get a serious reality check.
😆 🤣
For example years ago I bought a stainless steel Taurus PT92 years ago for 400 dollars, it a beautiful pistol that is reliable and accurate, but today it is has not gained in value at all and I would be lucky to get 400 for it and a gun shop would probaly only give me 250 in trade in value, But If I had bought a 100 dollar Mosin Nagant at the same time that I bought my PT92, that 100 dollar Mosin today would have appreciated in value 300% or more
Yes indeed. I remember when the M14 was 600 dollars. Should have bought one then.
No shotgun? That’s crazy. No micro nine that fits in your pocket? Nuts.
I do need a shotgun
I agree with most of this. I would say at least 2 AR's. You have to have a backup. Also a full size handgun and a compact. I wish I would have spent more on training and ammo instead of more guns.
Trust me that's all you need. Trust me I need more.

Sooo... how many are you going to buy and which ones?
So What did you get?
That's it.
Good advice 👍🏽

As long as your training sufficiently, I agree!
2 pistols 1 shotgun and 1 rifle is perfect
That’s not enough
@@yourmajesty7592in what exact realistic scenario is that not enough?

Yep, that makes a lot of sense. I have a 9mm and all that was said is true, but I have a 45 and it’s the most fun to shoot, and I just love the round. I have a 357 snub nose too that’s cool that I reload for. They all serve different purposes, so it makes sense to me. However, if you can keep your guns secure and you can afford it, there shouldn’t really be a limit. You might feel crazy about it sometimes but we should take advantage of our freedom to own what we want. Some people don’t have that choice.
He has a great point, I should have been buying more ammo.
Thanks for being a sensible gun owner and not making all of us look like nuts
He's right I only have like 2ish and I'm perfectly happy with all of them. Now I'm not counting all the cordless hole punchers😁
You are so correct. Addictions are ridiculous and expensive. Own more guns than I’ll ever use. Just one more Gun Show this weekend😂
Too many guns is like saying that I'm too sexy.
You already have a collection; however, you need to add a 1911, and a revolver. A Wilson Combat or Ed brown 1911. A Smith &Wesson 686 Revolver.
NJ stepped it up decently & recently, i waited only 3 weeks exactly for my none resident CCL. Now you NJ residents need to work on the astronomical costs they charge! One of the absolute most expensive by far.
It is unreal, I have made videos in the past on it. Hopefully it is fixed eventually.

@@JayCostaUSAwe have become accustomed to high fees in NJ.
Stay safe. God bless
Thank you Nick, God Bless you as well. And I agree 100%
I enjoyed your presentation!
On a more friendly basses you reside in NJ, and I reside in a solid Red state, with many Public outdoors ranges so there are so many more options to have fun, we are not restricted to an indoor gun ranges only like in your state.🤝
You should really take a deeper look into the new trend that is taking hold, PC9Carbine Rifles.
Variety is the spice of life.

How come? I have other guns but what’s wrong with Glock?
Deffinitly
Glocks are over priced and over rated.
Glocks are like Toyota Camrys everybody got one!
Glocks give you tunnel vision.
Need to save up😊
Keep it going and train train train!
Or train and going and going 😂
Dude get the HK too, those aren’t that much lol
You forgot Dirty Harry’s 44 mag smith and Wesson 29.
Great video on an overlooked topic! I had to slim down my options based on what felt right to me. I felt fatigued on buying a new based on accessories and holsters. I've been approving my skill on the pistol with a okay trigger. I'm glad I stopped switching pistols and just focused on training. The benefits are wonderful!
this guy is ridiculous😂😂😂

To me, how I looked at this:
1- Do not buy too many firearms (Unless you are not going to use them in range)
2- Stick to one framework
3- 9mm is best, but my first caliber was .40 S&W
Wishlist:
1- AR-15 or Rugr 10/22
2- Glock 19 or Sig Sauer P320
i’ve bought, traded and sold so many guns there’s no way i can remember how many.
now that i’m getting older, i take 2 pistols to the range and training classes. my edc and nightstand pistols. the rest collect dust in the safe.
I agree completely with all of your points!
thanks for watching
Totally agree! Finally, someone said it. Theres so many vids out there on upgrades and reviews. Scaled down to a minimalist approach, you need a primary (carbine), a full size seconday and a carry (pistol), and a tertiary (shotgun) weapon system. Four guns - Three calibers - Thats it. If you have just one choice for each system its based on reliability, user friendliness, and capable and plentiful ammo. Thats your guage for making those choices.
Sorry, I just build what I want not buy only what is made lol.
Nice try. Not gonna do it, though.
Don't beat yourself up dude, it's ok to enjoy life and its pleasures!
I hear you. For a beginner or someone with a limited budget, it is important to strategize and prioritize. Something like this for example,
1. Home defense firearm
2. 556 Rifle
3. CC
4. Plinker
5. Hunting rifle
The less calibers and brands the better.

How many guns do you think you can carry when shit hits the fan? 40?
Do you have a militia ready to carry all of those guns when shit hits the fan?
I have 33 firearms and he’s absolutely right! I’m a collector but this economy has taken away the fun of buying. I have TTIs, Nighthawks, Atlas, and Staccato’s. It’s definitely an expensive hobby

I have a few they all have a very similar manual of arms and I rotate from week to week which one I carry, you might want to try that
Honestly I think 10 really good quality guns is all you’ll ever actually need, put the rest into ammo, gold and supplies for when SHTF.
1. Handgun for the wife
2. Bedside gun
3. EDC
4. Semi auto Hunting Shotgun
5. 16 inch AR-15
6. SBR or 14.5 pin and weld AR-15
7. 308 Rifle
8. 22 LR
9. Another EDC Incase ur one gets taken
10. Either another EDC or bedside handgun or a pump action.
You know only the old saying - “ You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too many guns.”
Quality content Jay. I have my home defense and im waiting now for my next permit to get my carry weapon. Question... Did you say each permit in NJ will allow you 3 handgun purchases?
I permit allows 1 gun but when you apply for permits you can ask for three. It prompts you for the number.
@@Bowguy67 Ahh ok. Thank you
I see your point.
Excellent video. Thank you
thanks for watching
I started when I turned 50, and had the money at the time, knowing that I would not have the money later, bought a variety of handguns, rifles, shotguns. I knew that I would end up trading to get what I would end up with over next several years after trying and trading. 13 years later, I have what I want and love to carry or have strategically located in my house. Life us good as one of my favorite gunners (Hickok 45) says.
