Bobby cox stood up for his players that’s why everyone loved him
I'm a lifelong Mets fan & I love Bobby Cox. You're absolutely right in what you say, I don't I've ever seen a manager who stuck up for his players more than Bobby did.
Jason Heyward was the very last one and the biggest prime example.
I am watching braves beating the marlins in game 3 NLDS right now and they brought up Bobby cox which then got me looking up this video. As soon as I read your comment, Adam Wainwright says on fox sports "nobody stood up for his players more than Bobby cox." Lol very weird.
Especially with bill Han
The goat in total ejections
Bobby Cox having to defend his players
“Ah shit, here we go again”
When current manager Brian Snitker stood up for Ronald Acuña Jr. as a rookie, when an umpire was treating him like garbage, Snitker put that umpire in his place and made that ump look like a fool and he is now Snitker's bitch.
@@jamesb.9472 unfortunately what they used to do 😤
@@jamesb.9472 no one did it like Bobby, top one in my book
Judging on Bobby Cox's track record, this video is about 500 hours too short.
Bobby Cox and his beautiful record that will never be broken. I hope he has recovered from his stroke. Top 2 managers of all time.
mike taylor He’s definitely one of my favorite managers ever. And he’s got that fighting spirit, so I am hopeful for his recovery. Glad he’s walking again.
Ah shit, Cox gets irritated!!
holds the record for most career ejections for a reason. I always loved bobby cox. old school manager that never hesitated to stick up for his players.
And the call of Grissom out at 2nd makes me remember just how much I hated playing the Yankees in new York. They had a tough team to beat but throw in the home team friendly umps and they became nearly unbeatable.
We got robbed on that grissom slide.
Highway robbery man
Henry Hill was on the Howard Stern show a few days prior to the start of the series. He said,"It's a fix. The Yanks in 6."
We got screwed on every close call in that series. Every one of them.
Bobby Cox was a wonderful manager who always had his players back and protect them no matter what. I wish him all the best in his recovery.
That call at second base with Marquis Grissom was egregious.
I know I am biased as a braves fan. But this is why Bobby was beloved, because he had his players back 100%. When he got tossed. It was for a legit reason.
Bobby Cox was awesome. Miss those 90's Braves. I remember he sometimes stayed in hidden and didn't leave like he was supposed to.
Would have been awesome if he pulled a Bobby Valentine
14 years ago I went to the pro ump school run by the Wendelstedts. During the classes on ejections, one of my classmates asked Hunter which manager he hated dealing with the most. It was Bobby Cox. He said "If he came out to argue, I just walked in the opposite direction into the outfield. Most of the time he would give up so he didn't have to hobble his ass all the way out there."
I watched a lot of Braves baseball during the Bobby Cox years. He was such a pro at getting ejected. The umps knew he had an eagle eye. He always stood up for his guys and got his money’s worth without looking like a jackass.
That’s also why I lived him so much. My granny got me into the Braves when I was super young n they’ve always been the only team I pull for essentially lol. I know I miss the days of sitting up and watching baseball games with her no matter how long they lasted lol. That was my favorite thing to do other than go to football games with my grandpa on the other side of the family lol.
But yeah, Bobby was always so professional even when he could’ve went out there and blew a gasket like everyone else.
I have much love and respect for Bobby Cox, he was a great one. Growing up in the 80s and early 90s, WTBS showed more Braves games than the local channel showed Indians games. So I grew to be big fans of the Braves and many of their players over the years.
A huge reason in why the Braves have such a massive following everywhere. TBS. In Atlanta we knew it as channel 17. We got Andy Griffith reruns, wrestling and the Braves and it was awesome
god i hated the braves in the 90's. i was an Expos fan. looking back, i'm glad this guy got a world series. one of the best coach in the history of the game.
I wish there was a heart option instead of like for this vid. I loved going to Turner Field as a kid and watching that legendary Braves team mid 90s - early 00's in person was awesome.
PS, I knew this was going to be a long video lol.
THIS IS THE ONE WEVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!
Legend right here! Gotta love having the record for ejections. This probably could’ve been an hour long video. Chop on!
I love Bobby Cox! That was a man who would pay a fine if it meant standing up for his guys.
Old school Braves fans love this. Keep it up WesleyApex
Ah yes finally! Thank you for posting this. I watched him and the Braves for so many years. Sad day when he retired.
The way Bobby steps in for Grissom at 2:14 is such a legendary moment. Guy always had his player's backs
4:02 those 2 Yankee coaches without a doubt knew he was safe 😂
Awesome video! It shows ole’ Bobby had plenty of reasons to be pissed off throughout his coaching career!
There's needs a part 2 and 3 with Bobby Cox.
Finally-
Let’s hope his health improves more than it has. That was a horrible scare.
Bobby Cox was my favorite TV dad.
I love how he uses his hands to prove to the umpire that he's right.
I love the ejection at Fenway at the 5:00 mark because Bobby just predicts which way Chipper was gonna try to get around him until Terry can come in and get Chipper.
The 🐐! I miss Bobby managing the Bravos!
Holy crap... Joe West looks so young!! He's been getting his wittle feelings hurt for so long...
Hahaha I loved when both Bobby Cox and the umpire put the bat out and pulled it back in 😂
Man I miss watching the braves on Peachtree TV
Legendary ....Bobby Cox knew the game and went for it all.....
I miss Bobby Cox as the manager of my Braves
Best manager of all time not even close
Late to the party but thanks for this video been so excited to see it. Bobby and the Braves were my childhood
One thing you gotta admit he definitely had a valid argument on all of these
Brian mccanns smile in the first clip is great!
Notification squad, love the "____ getting pissed off" vids
I guess bringing the entire bat across the plate isn't a swing. I'm glad that announcer isn't an umpire.
The *general* idea is that it's a swing if the batter breaks his wrists, which the batter didn't do which is probably why the announcers thought it wasn't a swing. I had to look this up because I didn't know it, if the bat goes over the plate it's a swing even if the wrists don't break. I played/watched baseball from when I was 5 until I was 18 and I didn't know that, so I'm willing to bet most people don't as well.
If the announcer was an umpire he'd know that, but he's not, so try not to be too had on him lmao. Props to you for knowing
Right. That was totally a swing
@@tylermuzzy1527 Yeah I'm sorry for being overly hostile because it's not exactly a common occurrence in baseball, but I feel like announcers should be more impartial and well-versed in the rules of baseball than 1) A guy from England (me) who didn't even grow up watching the sport and 2) A guy who doesn't get paid to commentate like they do.
I can understand an average fan not knowing that rule but it seems like announcers protesting the call should know that.
Lol the fan in the background @ 11:20 getting his food knocked out of his hands
I’ve been waiting for this one
Bobby Cox has been 65 years old for 25 years
Bobby was great ! Loved watching the Braves back then . What a team
Carlos Zambrano getting pissed off !!

WesleyAPEX thnx bro lol
2:06 one of the few times Tim McCarver was actually right about something
Pirates fans in the 90s loved watching Cox getting thrown out. He barely missed an entire 162 game season for being thrown out lol. Also Cox is pretty much right about all of these bad calls, lol. I wish Cox managed during replay to show these umpires up.
Bobby Cox was the best MLB manager ever. Long live #6.
Bobby Cox....Legend
That is all
Best quote in the video: "Bobby Cox is tossed and he gets the hook just to stay in shape." Hahaha
My favorite part is when he was shaking his head and said fuck and then ashamed that he's ejected for the game that was funny as fuck 😂 🤣 😆
he probably wouldnt have had as much ejections if there was instant replay when he was coaching
Tom Glavine has said he felt sick that he had to hit Dale Murphy, who was a good friend and former Braves teammate, and didn’t want to do it. But Cox thought Phillies pitchers had been throwing at Braves batters and told him to hit the first guy up in the 9th inning, which was Murphy. So Glavine threw some soft stuff inside, which missed him. But the fourth one in a row was so obvious, the ump tossed him. It was the only ejection of Glavine’s career.
Finally you made this
Mcann laughing behind the first one is priceless. Lololol
The umps have always screwed us over in the postseason
Wesley Apex getting pissed off.
Bobby Cox is a G. GOAT status.
Do John Gibson getting pissed off next, btw love you
Best manager in baseball
Don’t piss off Pops! He will protect his boys!
Bobby Cox has been ejected 161 times in his career which is the most ever
There will never be another like him
Fox would be striking a nerve on missed calls
do a compilation of every bobby cox ejection. oh wait, there's an upload size limit.
The greatest Manager of all time
That's nice
Bobby was the best Manager in all of baseball history. Prove me wrong.
Here after Braves lost to the dodgers in game 7 of the 2020 NLCS. Snit needs to fight like Bobby!!! Fight for his guys, and fire up the team!
@10:07 the other Problem, he will not be in the dugout to begin with and just be paying attention to the games that are worried about what people are saying to him.
Could we do Lou Pinella. I laugh when when he kicks dirt. It's laughable.
'What a great call you're doing a fantastic job.'
-Lou Pinella
Aquafina.
Bobby Cox best manager of Atlanta Braves the early 90s era baseball history
The first umpire was not to be messed with.
The Legend
Strong throw by Joe Girardi with quick hands from Derek Jeter. Marquis was safe but that was very close.
I like Snit but he ain't Bobby, there will never be another Bobby. I'm just glad I got to enjoy the Braves having him.
Bobby Cox can manage my team anytime he wants!!!
@1:50 that was such a horseshit call.
Hell he called him out before the tag was ever made.
Joe West had no neck even in 1992
Cox and Davidson. Two angry grandpas. Lol.
Can anyone please tell me what year the RedSoxs Braves game was?
I used to watch the Braves just to see Cox get ejected! He was better than Earl Weaver sparky Anderson billy Martin about getting ejected
The only manager to be ejected in 2 world series games
That was a strike chipper lol
knuckleball nastiness
I love watching Bobby but Don Zimmer was way too funny!
Road his bench to hall of fame
John Gibbons getting pissed off.
I miss ole bobby 😂
Lou Piniella?
ua-cam.com/video/yHwET9gW4PM/v-deo.html
The countless times the Braves get screwed hurts me
Good thing. Bobby isn’t around managing in this day in age. He wouldn’t be arguing as much nowadays.
Brett Gardner getting pissed off
Do Mike oxsmall getting pissed next
The second play is a prime example of how the umpire's are in the Yankees pockets.
Where’s the Jim Leyland video?????
0:55 if he hits it it's a double
You can’t not like Bobby Cox
I wanna see Bruce Bochy
Do MLB hot mics (like stuff we weren’t supposed to hear)
