Lizzy's voice is perfect for this. Someone could actually mistake her for Olivia if you didn't know this was a cover.
Had there not been video (and the title not said it was Lizzy) I would have not been able to tell it wasn't just a normal acoustic cover from Olivia
Timbre is super similar, but Olivia doesn’t pronounce the ends of her words quite as much as Lizzy does, so I think that’d tip people off.
@@TheDGomezzi completely agree - better annunciation and there’s a slight difference in Lizzy’s tone. Plus it sounds like this version is in a lower key. But very similar

The storytelling through the picking patterns and dynamics from the guitars are enough to make this an amazing performance. Lizzy is unbelievably good at storytelling through her singing so this is truly a treat to listen to.
The performance ... Lizzy BROUGHT IT, that's all one could EVER ask for.
That is singing. It is not about screaming, reaching impossible highs, destroying your vocal cords. Singing like Lizzy does is reaching a level of total complicity with her fellow musicians and with your listeners. It is about transmitting emotions. His nuanced, intimate, non-spectacular performances are so authentic that they go deep inside you. Bravo Lizzy.

Loved this rendition. But for some constructive criticism, I will say the mixing was a bit top-heavy on the vocals. This song is meant to be belted, and I felt that I couldn't fully enjoy the instrumentation, listening at a reasonable volume.
Totally agree. It's a great performance but the mix is not well balance. Listening to it with headphones was almost painful at higher volume.
I agree. I think my criticism is that the tempo felt too fast and didn’t leave enough time for passion and anger to come through with the lyrics.
I mean this is in a the best way possible, but Lizzy has a very delicate voice. So I think they pumped the vocal volume so that it didn't get overhwlemed by the guitars.
