Another great video. I really enjoy your content because you are "the complete" car guy, can do it all and know your stuff. Then again, that has to come with the willingness to learn or teach yourself and I suspect the later. Can't wait to see your new shop and the adventure of you setting it all up.
I use the HF/CT hydraulic knock out punch kit with the Vevor expander from AZN (a 'bitza' version of what you are using basically) Like you have had mixed results, especially with smaller pipe, 2". I found that a sharp blow from a hard object on the exhaust pipe itself would let the wedges release after the cylinder was retracted. Also keeping it well lubed helps, I used silicone spray. Just FYI, glad to see the shop progressing and all the best to the Halfass Clan.
I can’t wait until the new shop is all done new lifts. A lot of guys are buying the regular two post lift, also they’re buying these wild fire lifts those look like they would come in real handy for different kinds of car work. Also, you can park a car under and one on top. I think the new shops gonna be awesome.
Brent, if you grease the wedge on the expander it shouldnt stick so bad. Otherwise looks like a decent tool. Still need to bring you a big hyd cylinder for the bender For the wood block, drill crosswise pilot holes and 2 deck screws to make it less fiddly. I use a similar style block to clamp hydraulic flaring tool in vise.
the piece that was screwed into the hydraulic part was for shipping , it is used for putting a socket on your impact and expanding it without the hydraulics . The set i have is only with an impact and its much faster that way . the hydraulic may be better in certain situations . Lube everything generously .
Just a tip to bleed your clutch with everything installed. You fill the reservior then use a pry bar or a long screw driver through the bell housing and depress the throw-out bearing toward the bearing retainer a few times and it bleeds out nice. Nice build.....😎😎
With that swedging tool, if you expand the pipe a little less before rotating the tool, it works better. It also helps to spray it down with WD-40. I have a manual version of that that I have used since the 90s when I worked at a muffler shop.
Synchromesh gear oil works best in the nv3500 I had to replace the ax15 in my 97 tj it had regular 90 weight gear oil which contains sulphur it eventually eats the brass synchronizes I had use redline oil in my new to me transmission.
If you put a small hinge on one end of that 2x4 with the holes in it, it would keep them together and make it easier to use. Love your content, keep sharing with us.🥸
If you mount it on your old machine, you would be able to riggal the pipe off then you only need a bender to mount with it, then you will have another bending and spreading machine, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
It's always a good day when you get to buy a new tool. Good progress today. Watching you under the truck I'm thinking you will be really happy to get a 2 post again.
I noticed your drill bit set because I just bought the same one. I have a lot of drill bits but the set was $100 off. Couldn't resist after walking past it 3 times debating. Good ole Canadian Tire/Crappy Tire/Newfie Speed and Custom.
🗿love them square bodies 👍 You have probably built a dependable pick-up thats not hard to find parts for. Enjoy seeing you get other shop going too Thanks for sharing Brent
i just had to make a plastic 3/8 fuel line with the factory gm ends like you use for my wifes 04 blazer feed line. i read to use a metal fuel line flaring tool clamp to hold the plastic line like you do with the wood block you use. i seen you make lines a while ago with the wood block so your video was very helpful for me. 👍
Excellent video Brent :) get Clutch fix up , is sensor button like brake pedal to say got Clutch ingaged for shift transmission and when out ! Plus start engine okay too and like security devices! Plus fuel pump and fuel filter want heat shield them from hot exhaust agree to that ! Plus orgnail fuel filter looks need be changed too on old one! Pablo & Buddy Supervisor Dogs 🐕 your work and keep you safe too!
Another stellar video from Brent !! , Thank you for taking us step by step through another stage in the 5.3 build . Till the next time , Stuart in Ontario ..
You’re an artist and so is Brent that’s what probably draws you to watch him do his thing. Takes rust and makes something low and rad. Pure art. Hope to see your stuff one day, keep making that dream come true. We all have something to give. Like, share and create a dream.
Another great educational video. That was cool new tool you have to make your exhaust pipes bigger. Old Pablo looked like he had been working all day by his mannerism in hte truck ride. Still waiting on the new shop, going to be a big learning curve, but things worth having are worth having brand new. With all your new tool gifts, and the new ones going into the new shop, things are going to be so much better, easier, cleaner, faster and that makes Brent happier. GOD BLESS
Brent, I have had some experience with pipe expanders on very nearly the same machine you have that burnt and I would say expand the pipe just enough to get the next size die into the pipe to keep it more round. Or get one of those cheapie impact wrench expanders, they don't work so well to expand a pipe alone, but could be faster to make the pipe round again w/ out all the sticking. Great job fabbing up that hydro clutch. I hope it works a good as it looks. Q: Who hates it more? The Chevy guy having a Ford fuel pump on a Chevy or the Ford guy having a Ford fuel pump on a Chevy? That's like reversing the polarity on a pair of jumper cables; Sparks are guaranteed to fly. Great video, very interesting to hear the strategy and then see the execution. I think it helps me stay in tune with crossing breeding the stuff I'm always fixing. THANK YOU for showing all the tricks and trade secrets and presenting it so well. More! ben/ michigan
For the fuel hose on barb, I have used a heat gun to soften the hose, slip it on and it hardens up as it cools. Don't overheat the tube and you're gold. Worked for me, no leaks for the rest of it's life.
Last couple videos have had audio only on the left channel. This one started on the left, at the pipe bit it went back to balanced. Good video though as usual.
I have the same slave cylinder in my 95 Chevy SS 305 pickup, I have to push it very far in order for it to release the clutch all the way. I have a 77 Chevy 350 4 bolt main engine in the truck with a 77 flywheel and a 95 pressure plate. I still have not broken the slave cylinder, if I do not push the clutch far enough the clutch will get hot and not want to work. Even though my slave cylinder was a pre-bled system from Car Quest, I still had to re-blead it on the truck like you would blead the brakes.
GM 12551708 or Standard Motor Products TX111 3 wire coolant temp sensor. Easy oe application is a 98 F body with an LS1. I haven't found an old GM temperature guage it isn't accurate with yet. Works on any year square body all the way back to 73!
Those dang headers look so cool. I had hydraulic clutch experience with my 93, and 98 Corvettes, It was not great. The 98 had other issues that requires a lot moving things around for headers etc, the line broke once after a new clutch was installed, i had to take all back apart to get to the line and replace it. It got to the point I missed the old 64 Vette with its mechanical clutch linkage that looks exactly like the linkage on Dad's 1957 Chevy 2 ton grain truck. Reliable! But a dog if the clutch pressure plate was the old three finger heavy duty job. Your making great progress when can we see some frame work going up??? Take care Thank You, D
If your interested in the Hydraulic Exhaust Pipe Expander check out the video description for more info.
Brent, on my 2011 silverado 5.3ls motor, the oil sending unit is on top of the motor in the back. good to see Cool Pablo and Buddy..
SKF is a swedish company svenska kullager fabriken 🙂 hello from sweden 👋
I chuckle every time I hear you say, "It'll be fine."
I really dig watching your videos, you’re very good at explaining what you’re doing. Thanks.
As soon as you showed the fuel fittings, I thought ‘oh no, his wooden block is toast’!
After your new shop is done you should turn that shop into your new paint booth that way you got more room in your new shop for projects
Awesome. Going to be a super reliable truck.
Hi Brent. Great burnout in the napco at end of summer. 😂😂

Congrats Brent on 150k subs!
Awesome job Brent. This was really cool
Hello Brent, good to see the LS swap moving along well. Anxious to see the 54 back in the shop. Always enjoy your program, take care and be safe. 👍

Pablo is in the house……and waiting for Brent to give me some snacks before we go for a boot in some kool wheels!✌🏻👍🏻😂😬

I love the first fires. specially the ones where it starts.😀 Be well
😎👍 Glad vevor could help. 😏 Remember to mask up when welding. Aluminized Stainless is next to Galvanized. Hexavalent Chromium.
Mr. You got a lot of bits done getting closer to see it rip nice work as always great watch 👍👋🇨🇦
i was waiting for that wooden fuel line tool fabrication ... " free " 😁👍
Coming along nicely , love watching your videos, enjoy your attitude and always enjoy your euphemisms
The one channel audio makes using headphones difficult. Keep up the great videos.
Yeah I should be able to fix going forward
Im watching this video ( knowing hiw fast you work) thinking its running by now lol Godspeed

Kool watching like always .. haven’t missed a show in bout 3 yrs or so
Thanks man!
Beautiful vice on the workbench at the beginning @3:00
Done well again Brent, digging that hydraulic exhaust pipe flaring tool from vevor. 👍
The only animal more excited than Pablo to go for a ride is my 90 year old mother.😂. Keep on trucking Brent.
Thanks for re-showing the block of wood tool
Hey Brent, I bet you can't wait to have a regular lift to work on your projects. Soon enough you'll have one...Ralph
It's all about the details! Getting closer to a burnout! take care!
You have all the toys 😂😂 coming along nicely Brent
Progress is going well. Keep up your great work

that was a lot of work done ,Great progress Brent, vroom, vroom soon, don't forget to order the trans. mount ...👍🍺🍺
I haven't had a squarebody in 20 years, but I would buy this one in a heartbeat (I'm a 3 pedal guy)...
🇦🇺great work on the truck again
Exhaust “mint”
If you put a small hinge on one end of that 2x4 with the holes in it, it would keep them together and make it easier to use. Love your content, keep sharing with us.🥸
I use the 3 wire 2000 camaro temp sensor on my 83 square body with stock gauge in it worked pretty accurate
Hey Bret! The truck looks like it will be a win. Your friend should be very happy. Nice work. 😀😀
I'm a Vevor fan, everything i've got from them has been good..
I like that little pipe expander. For a guy like me who might make one or two exhausts a year, it would be more than plenty.
If you mount it on your old machine, you would be able to riggal the pipe off then you only need a bender to mount with it, then you will have another bending and spreading machine, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

How weird, you working on a vehicle with paint. Love the adaptation of parts integration.
it is coming along great very creative process, The man is gaining a great LS swap
Keep teaching thank you for what you do
i just had to make a plastic 3/8 fuel line with the factory gm ends like you use for my wifes 04 blazer feed line.

Coming along well Brent
I had a '74 Jimmy from '81-'83. Great truck but rusted really bad over here in salty Ontario
So many eyes helping your hands!
Brent you definitely have some mic pic up issues. Fades in and out on my TV. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your new shop.
ICT Billet is a great source for ls adapters, i used them on my 79 gmc ls swap. All my factory gauges work with the 5.3.
Nice truck, love the classics. Brent you are a genius 😊
Brent, I have had some experience with pipe expanders on very nearly the same machine you have that burnt and I would say expand the pipe just enough to get the next size die into the pipe to keep it more round. I have the same kit but with my impact...it works way better
I've never had luck with those type of expanders
I made a block to fix line on my 2014 silverado brake booster thanks Brent !!
I just love watching your videos
Last couple videos have had audio only on the left channel. This one started on the left, at the pipe bit it went back to balanced. Good video though as usual.
Vevor has a 210 tig welder for $ 245.00 that's 👍 I watched 3 different video,reviews. Everyone was vary satisfied.. need a regulater,is al.

staggering ingenuity
Nice job on that clutch.
A thought on the exhaust pipe expander, maybe use some lube on the expander die before inserting onto pipe?
Nice work again Brent, pleased it’s going so well !!
Cool truck
I love watching your show and I enjoyed it
Nice going, Brent
maybe a little soap or wax or lube on that pipe expansion tool parts. Happy Hump Day!
I thought anti seize, but I like your idea better
Pretty cool Brent.nice job
Looks like the LS grew there Brent!😆
Very cool, I want to do this one day!!
EPIC progress!!!
it'S YOUR MICROPHONE.there is no sound, sorry.I like to listen as well and watching what you are doing.thanks
Volume is fine here.. do you have it on mute?
It’s only recording on the left channel.
Its not like he knows the mic is out. Alot of work goes into these videos. With or without sound i still enjoy Brents videos.
Sound is fine here
Looks like a win Brent!
I heard everything I think . Anyway- nice swap- clutch looked
Like a nightmare
hi the new shop is looking good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😄
Brent, another informative video. Thank you.!
GM 12551708 or Standard Motor Products TX111 3 wire coolant temp sensor. Easy oe application is a 98 F body with an LS1. I haven't found an old GM temperature guage it isn't accurate with yet. Works on any year square body all the way back to 73!
Good to see progress on your project . How’s the new shop progressing and will there be update videos !
I sure hope ya can I bent the new clutch slave an bent it up an well went with the 97 from junk yard pedal
You must have goods knees; you had to do a lot of crawling around. Nice neat job on the exhaust
Those dang headers look so cool. I had hydraulic clutch experience with my 93, and 98 Corvettes, It was not great. There is also a spin on adapter between the block and the spin on filter but it is obviously more expensive than the metric to NPT.
Hi My Friend Very Good Job ❤❤❤❤❤
Fuel system thank you!
