How to LIGHT a Gas FIREPLACE

- This video will show you how to light a gas fireplace with a piezo spark ignitor. The first think you want to do is pull the cover off the fireplace. Then turn the gas on to your fireplace. Second turn the pilot valve to pilot and push the button in for about 45 seconds. Then push the piezo igniter button four or have 5 times. Once the pilot light is lit still hold the pilot button down for 20 more seconds. Then turn the pilot knob to ON. Replace the cover on the fireplace and you should be ready to go. If this is the first time you are lighting the fireplace for the season be sure to open a window. Else you will be smelling burning dust.
Easiest of all videos! Now I’m about to start my fireplace after thirteen years

Do you have a video when the igniter switch isn’t working?
This was a very helpful video. Does this fireplace have a flue to open?
You just saved me $125!!!❤️❤️
You saved yourself $125. Great Job!
And how do you turn it off propertly?
THANK YOU... we had some technicians at the house the other day to replace the gas water heater and little did I know that the fireplace pilot flame turned off when they changed the heater tank

Thank you for watching!
Thanks for posting
Holy cow it worked! And I'm the most not good working at things like this.
Glad you got your fireplace working.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY me too man. You da bomb lol
Great video thanks. pilot light wouldn’t stay lit. Little clean of the thermocouple. 🔥 👍🏼🔮
Thanks for the tip.
My fire place is so weird and its hidden right underneath the logs. I have to remove the brick and then all I have is is an on and off switch. That was on. And a red switch that looks like the yellow one in the video. That's all it has. I'm afraid to mess with it. Because its so different. I can't find a video that shows components that look like mine. Nobody has an on and off switch??
Are you supposed to hear gas flowing when you push on the pilot button? I hear nothing when I push on pilot (I checked the gas valve is turned On)
Thanks
You are welcome
When i put it on the on position...pilot light shuts off.....also i cant get the fans to work. Im assuming my fireplace is broke...
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for watching!
Before I vacuum I put the faux logs in the bathtub and rinse them off. I learned that the hard way after we set off all the smoke detectors and got a call from ADT about an alarm the first time we lit it after moving in.
Thanks for sharing!
Exceptional!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
Does that shut off valve need to be closed, every time you turn the pilot light out?
Usually, you close the valve off for the season.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY Thank you!! The reason I ask, we have a 2 year old, and moved into our house 2 years ago, and never used it until yesterday. The valve was on the on position for 2 years and I had no idea, I didn't know if that was bad?
@J Cash If the gas control valve's pilot was set to off the gas is off. If the gas control valve was set to on or pilot you would have had a small amount of gas escaping. Really the valve before the control valve is for isolating the gas so that repairs can be made to the control valve. It's good practice to shut the valve off when the fireplace won't be used for an extended time.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY Thank you!!
This may be a dumb question but.... do you have to do this every time you turn it on? Also.. how do you turn the fireplace off?
Did you ever find out? I don’t have an Alexa or anything to turn mine on and off.
In my case pilot light is working but fire doesnt light on
What if there’s no valve to open the gas in the tray
Yeah me too
How did you connect Alexa to it?
I was thinking the same thing
Thank you in 2021 😉
You are welcome
Thank you ... when you buy a house there's no instruction to anything
Dont have a button but thanks
I just followed your instructions too, but the pilot isn't lighting. 🤔🥺
Same here. I've done it several times now. It was working fine and my brilliant son decided that I didn't need to leave the pilot on because it was summer. Now, nothing.
@@hotironmom I stepped away, I was too frustrated. Went back & it started right up! 🎶 I am woman hear me roar! 👍
@@debk1507 good for you! I've tried a few more times and it won't light. I won't give up!
Typical mine aint starting
I followed the instructions too, but my pilot isn't lighting! 🤔🥺
