I found that for a comfortable, long distance camping solution I looked a bit outside the box to the tent/ cot combination contraptions that river fishermen use. They don't compromise on comfort in the way that backpackers do so the tents are very capacious.
Thanks Simon…lighter is better, but I don’t scrimp on tent size. A 5-person 1.85m height tent is perfect for my needs, 2.5kgs in total weight. Cheers and ride safe! 🏍️🍺😎🇿🇦

Do you have any examples? Sounds interesting!

I don’t mind a few days motorcycle camping but never sleep that well in a tent which is fatiguing. I have mixed my solo tours up with hotel stays too.
The motorbike can probably carry more. Hope this helps.
Obviously! It was just a fun exercise in seeing how light I could go
Just wondered what off bike clothing and wash kit you took ? And did it fit in the same rucksack?
No off-bike clothing. Very lightweight!
