Spent many a happy hour in those rest areas and Continental rain, have a great trip. I’ve moved over to layering this year too, like you say no more heavy laminated suits and with a light weight semi vented jacket I can control my body temperature so much easier. Big Scott fan too, I have their trousers and a Revit waterproof jacket.
Completely agree . Having just splashed 💦 out on an expensive laminated touring suit - I never take it with me - I always end up going with comfortable layers and good packable waterproofs. 👍
Hi Simon... Firstly thanks for all your videos. I enjoy them and have also found them very useful. You're absolutely spot on about getting in the groove when on a bike trip.. Takes a few days but is a wonderful place when you find it... It would appear that great minds think alike as I too have a T140v and a 1200 scrambler! I've not the scrambler long and it's about that I would like to ask a question if I may. Mines a first generation one similar to yours.. I'm finding the suspension ever so hard and no matter what I do with it in terms of adjustment I can't seem to soften it much.. I'm 100kg. Just wondered how you got on with it and if you'd managed to find a sweet spot in the settings.. Thanks in advance.. R
Just found your channel and enjoy your pace of video, your musings amongst the raindrops and your thoughts on travelling. Hoping to start doing a few more adventures myself so good inspiration time :) Have a great ride wherever you end up and look forward to hearing more soon!
I travelled a lot with tent. When you roll the wet tent at once...the next day in and outside are soaking wet?? I decided to buy 2 compres bags. when it rains in the mornin you can take out the inner tent dry and put it in 1 bag. Second the outer in a seperate bag. But the plan I have never used so far...because I travel with Booking, the last 2 years🤘🏽

Same here, layering is the way despite having used laminated suits for years…same as walking.
Rain? Not a huge problem when you've good layers and plenty of time and good humour. Go you mate..
You are a glutton for the Vertical Water Torture Simon, respect mate!

Ah nice, I was doing around 1000km near La Bresse at the beginning of the week. We also had a lot of rain, but also some beautiful hours.
Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the video.
👍 awesome, love France
Enjoyed that, thanks for sharing! Those Scrambler 1200's are tempting, good to see you doing big miles on it. Not jealous(much)!
Thanks for posting. Looks like a great trip 👍

Thanks for dropping by my channel. It's just me getting on with doing my thing.
Enjoy Brother see you in September, stay safe George
Scrambler is about 160 miles per tank. How do you plan for petrol fill up’s?
I use a TomTom Rider GPS which indicates fuel stops along your route and shows how far away they are. I start looking for fuel at about 130 miles.

Don't you like our nice geoengineering french rain?
It's beautiful, but perhaps a little too much?
Geoengineering is always a little too much.
Hi Simon, it’s got to do with global warming, apparently! 🤷♂️😂😂👍🇬🇧🇿🇦🏍️👍🍺🍺
Has anyone ever said you look like Demis Roussos?
No!
@@SongsFromTheSaddle he was a great singer, if your hair was black you would be a spitting image
