My man Ricco-should've known! I should have asked in the last post.. but can you name the other cast of characters playing on this track? Thanks again..

I lived in Virgina for 10 years and one of my first concerts I went to was to see Robbin Thompson in the early 80's. I immediately became a huge fan and still have some of his albums. My friend Dave who lives in Suffolk just told me of his passing and I am so sorry. He was Virginia's own and played to so many who loved him. It is a shame he never made it nationally. Rest In Peace Robbin. You are loved and will be missed dearly.
Also remember sweet Virginia breeze , great song to this day it still sounds good, rest in peace because I didn't know that he passed , he was only a couple of years older than me
@DwightWhite78 Yeah I see some people hating on the producers and rap fans for commenting on where the song was used to make a beat. Little do they realize that people using this music to make more music helps keep the original alive! I would have never heard of so many of these artists if it wasn't for me being a producer.
A fav from back in the day. Used to hear Robbin perform this one with Big City at Friday Cheers in downtown RVA near The Coliseum. His talent and songs will be missed. His spirit lives on. R.I.P. Robbin
I only now learned of Robbin's passing. I am so sad. I caught his concerts anytime I could in Richmond when I was attending V.C.U. and then in Charlottesville. His music was so important to me, and whenever this song was played I HAD to be right in front of the stage. The blend of one of the best classic Southern rock guitar solos ever with Robbin's voice made this my favorite song of all times, and it still remains so. Rest in peace, Robbin. You were and will remain one of Virginia's greatest musical ambassadors of all times.
Thompson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, however from age seven he lived in Melbourne, Florida,[6][7] where he graduated from Melbourne High School.[1] Between 1963-67 he was the lead singer and songwriter with several Florida-based bands including The Hanging Five, The Five Gents and The Tasmanians. The latter band even released a couple of singles in 1966. In 1968 he formed Transcontinental Mercy Flight before moving to Richmond, Virginia, initially to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU he formed Mercy Flight in early 1969.[3][8]
I'm from Virginia and had the opportunity to see robin thompson & band in Roanoke va. many times, great song writer ,tight band ,he never really got his due, very talented guy
Damn right, I always listened to hip-hop and rock, but once you go deeper you hear the songs those artists grew up with. I discovered so much Soul, old school RnB and classic rocks songs just because of this. And most of those songs are gold, some of them everybody knows, others... Well yeah, hidden gems I guess.
When I listen to this song I play the guitar break over and over and over...so clean and flowing. I bought this album way back in the day upon on the recommendation of the record shop owner; so glad I listened to the owner!
@213MADA This is a local band. Robbin thompson even played at my high school in 82. So no, you are to incredibly wrong, not everyone came here after listening to Double 07.
Did you guys ever go to the Parties in Churchill back in the good old days with Robin Thompson and Steve Bassett? Remember that year it rained and somebody rolled out a giant role of plastic? Awesome

I grew up in East Ocean View and Robbin was definitely a part of those long summers being a beach bum as a young teen.
