I agree! You can order the part from any honda dealership or online honda parts dealer. For example hondaautomotiveparts.com or bernardiparts.com (lots of others too). Make sure you get the updated part number (see description for details). Given how common the indicator light failure is, I wouldn't even bother taking out the console to check the wiring. I would just try replacing the indicator. If you are at all handy, you could do it yourself in about 20 minutes with no tools required.

Having the same issue/ code too but it's on my 2016 accord, already ordered the part and plan on replacing it myself soon, but I just had some questions. If I were to replace it myself would you recommend I disconnect the car battery before removing all the electronics to get to the passenger airbag light or is it not necessary, because I noticed you still had the accord in this video connected to its battery and was wondering if it's a risk or not considering the srs light is tied into the airbag system. I also wanted to know if after replacing the part would I need to take the vehicle to a dealership/ shop to have the code wiped after installing the new part or would the car wipe the code by itself and accept the replacement part. Hopefully you can get back to me soon and really appreciate the video, keep up the good work
Thanks for the comment. 1. Yes, you are right, it is always a good idea to disconnect the battery before doing any SRS system electrical work. The service data says to disconnect the 12V battery and wait 3 minutes before doing any SRS system work "except when doing electrical inspections that require 12V power". You are correct that I did not do this in the video but in general, it is the recommended procedure so thanks for mentioning it! 2. No, after replacing the Airbag Cutoff Indicator, you do not need to clear the codes or do anything to "accept the replacement part". The indicator requires no programming. Once you replace it (assuming that was in fact the problem) the code will clear on the next drive cycle. Good luck with the repair and let us know how it goes!
In your case indicator light does not come on but if light is functioning and scanners gives same code 92-22 does that mean assembly is good? In other words airbag indicator light is no proof the assembly is good!!
Yes, I agree, even if the airbag indicator light is on at a particular point, it is not necessarily proof that the assembly is good. When mine failed, it would intermittently go off and on. Once it fails, the DTC is set. The DTC error code will remain there until its clearing condition is met (I think a full dry cycle with no code). So there can be times that the light is on and the code is still there. However, if you pay attention and NEVER see the airbag light off when it should be on, then it would seem unliked that the assembly is bad.

Both cars are kept one has 700 miles the other one has 10,000 and I only had this issue once I upgraded to the color seatbelt and the custom seatbelt. Thank you for your time and help.
You just need a scan tool that reads manufacturer-specific codes. The Autel MS906 shown in the video will do that as will lots of others. However, I think you might need to do more than clear the codes. Normally codes like that will clear by themself if the error condition is no longer there. So I suspect you probably have an issue that is actively generating the error code that you will have to figure out.

Out of curiosity, I reflowed the bad solder joints on the bad airbag SRS indicator and applied power as shown below: i.postimg.cc/d1rPmsNN/schematic-with-markup.png This is how it is powered whenever the headlights are on and the airbag OFF indicator is lit. With power applied, the resistors get really hot (107.7C!) as shown in the following IR image. The two resistors are identified by the green arrows. i.postimg.cc/PJHGSgBX/irwithmarkup.png So if you add to that a hot dash temperature when the heater is on, then those resistors are super toasty when operating which certainly contributes to the observed solder joint failure. Generally, the maximum operating temperature for most automotive electronics is 125C or 150C.

It is not conclusive (could always be the passenger seat weight sensor, wiring, etc.) but given how common the cutoff indicator problem i, I think there's probably pretty good likelihood that it is your problem too.
Out of curiosity, I reflowed the bad solder joints on the bad airbag SRS indicator and applied power as shown below:

This is how it is powered whenever the headlights are on and the airbag OFF indicator is lit. With power applied, the resistors get really hot (107.7C!) as shown in the following IR image. The two resistors are identified by the green arrows.

So if you add to that a hot dash temperature when the heater is on, then those resistors are super toasty when operating which certainly contributes to the observed solder joint failure. Generally, the maximum operating temperature for most automotive electronics is 125C or 150C.
you smart
why not just change part made video confusing noone is going to repair that little switch
Part number??
At least for the 2018 1.5T, the part # is 35510-TVA-A02 which replaces the older part number (35510-TVA-A01). Presumably they made improvements to it to fix this vulnerability.
@JohnsDIY i have 2018 honda accord sport 2.0t, it should be the same part?
@@rubenaguero7342 I would guess so, but why guess? Go to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, put in the details of your model and look it up to know for sure!
@@JohnsDIY thank you!
