TY so much Bobby! I just saw what vid this was posted on. Thank you so much! I never did finish the EP, I ended up touring a bunch. Maybe I'll have to rethink getting it done!
😂. Damn, dude, I think I got in on the ground floor of a new YT phenomenon! Crazy that this vid is eight years old! Sometimes the YT algorithm rhythm works! Loving this! 👍🙏🏻
My 80's all time favourite drummer, never ceases to amaze me!Being an ex drummer I can say that this is made to look pretty effortless but my God.......so technical. Awesome stuff as ever.Still watch Alice Coopers The Nightmare Returns dvd to this day and witnessed it live back in 1986.There may be faster drummers out there today but they don't seem to have the originality, imagination and pure skill that Ken has.Awesome. \m/

@kenkmaryofficial Very well done! It's amazing to see you play. I'm on rewind/replay of YYZ, sent to friends, and all have agreed, "Who is this exceptional dude?!" AND "Please duplicate all the Pratt you can muster!"
@@davidhardinger9411 Ah, thank you so much again David! I have been holding back my favorite... Tom Sawyer... just figuring on when to release. I may wait until the week after Christmas and then do a follow up on what I learned from all this. I do have another song, and it was done differently since there wasn't the original available at the time. I'll see if the original syncs up...
@@perwestermark8920 Yes indeed. I'm am working on some, it's just tough when you have only so many hours in the day!! lol But I am planning on a bunch and hopefully that happens!
@@kenkmaryofficial Well, you have the #1 requirement to manage - the drumming skills. You put some videos up, and we'll show up yo view. Maybe you could do some cross-posting with Ken Tamplin. He has the audience.
I remember learning to play set and hearing an intro Ken did to a song called American Nights by Bonfire. Not the hardest thing ever but it sounded so effin cool. I was (and continue to be) a huge fan of his. He understands that not everything has to be level 10 difficult. At the same time, he can absolutely play the hell out of the really technical stuff. He's one of the rate breed. A drummer who is a musician. He's also been a huge influence. Great work with Fifth Angel, too. Thanks for the years of amazing work, Ken.
Thank you for the kind words Drew! I appreciate what you are saying about being a musician. I do think as a drummer there is so much you can add musically. And sometimes less can be more if it's more musical for sure!!
Good to hear excellent stuff from you! I just realized that 30 years passed since "Raise your fist and yell" record was published. I must admit that "Roses on white lace" is the one and only track I sincerely miss in Alice Cooper today's shows. I would be delighted to hear it again with you behind the drum set ;-)
@@kenkmaryofficial I just heard some of the new songs and was thinking "hell, who is that beastly drummer ?" , so I had to check you out. Impressive stuff 🤘
This is why I love my Rock tour custom's!!!! And Ken... did you record raise your fist and yell on one??? Sonically sounds the Same...and love every song off that Alice Cooper's album!!!!! Thanks
Hi Robert, Raise Your Fist and Yell was actually on a Pearl kit, the black one i used on the first Alice tour. Great kit! Wish I still had it. Birch I believe.
You are so underrated (or at the very least, overlooked by many) as both a drummer and an audio engineer/producer it's not even funny. Oh well...I suppose the people "in the know" are well aware of your work and the awesome talent, skill, and dedication to your craft that it reflects. Anyway, I love your playing with Alice Cooper and House of Lords! Keep on being a badass, Ken! :D
If you remember recording "Under my wheel" (think that was the tune) with Alice Cooper in Vermont - the night before you did the show with Alice and Motorhead was opening, I was a young teenage drummer and my instructor called me and asked if I wanted to go help set up some equipment. This would have been 1987, I believe. Anyway, the studio rented some equipment off of my instructor and so, in a very round-about-way, I ended up setting up your drums for you, at least the ones in the studio that you guys used. I hung around for as long as I could to try and meet you, but someone was late flying in, so I ended up having to leave. I followed your career from Fifth Angel, Alice, Bonfire, House of Lords, anything you played on that I could get my hands on. You really are an incredible drummer and have influenced many, many others, even guys like me who still play by ourselves in our basements and feel like we have accomplished something when we finally nail a Ken Mary chop!!!! Thanks for all the great drumming, Mr. Mary!
......and if you think I am exaggerating how much I listened to you, I heard "Falling" from Bonfire and recognized you from a simple fill you do at the end of it as the same one you do in House of Lords "I just wanna be loved". As soon as I heard it, I said "thought that set sounded like Mr. Mary!"
That was really killer! I’d like to hear more of those songs, that was fucking awesome!
