Interestingly enough, beast claw left hand and bloodhound's fang in right lets you actually fight like the bloodhound fang knights since you now have that claw leap, you can also swap sides if you want more leaps
I love beast claws. It reminds me of Bloodborne and it rocks as an offhand weapon for a heavy weapon. The way in which you can combo and stagger opponents is extremely surprising to me. It’s stronger than I expected. And I knew about the feint attack. Great Katana has one too.
I love the weapons in the dlc. Personally I've taken to the smithscript daggers. I use em cold with endure, leap attack bonuses. They also have a better than average guard counter. Somehow this was able to cheese the scadu tree avatar, Gaius and messmer. =)
Wait, the smithscript dagger of all things has a good guard counter? Surprising. Do you pair it with the smithscript shield or do you just toss on a towershield for that? I only ever found good results powerstancing them, because the light combo with cold basically prints frostbite procs with six daggers per chain. Could toss on Fire's Deadly Sin for the reset cheese too. Or blood with Lord of Blood. I always knew they were good despite how hard people have been dunking on the ninja knives though. Possibly one of the best mounted weapons in the game, basically has slightly more reach than a pike with like three times the status buildup, gets 100% uptime from the smithing talisman, lightning quick recovery frames... My favorite smithscript weapon by far, with Messmer's firework launcher as a close second.
@@FelisImpurrator you can use the deflecting tear from physick for guard counters while powerstancing. The actual guard counter attack is basically the "piercing throw" ash of war after a short backstep, it's been doing something like 1.2k after a deflect for me. Very fun and very cool
Hi, I really appreciate your videos on these weapons. I have not seen many videos going in-depth on the stats and frame data of weapons. I might not use these on my DEX builds, but videos like these always interest me nonetheless.
Mans pretty much has a Ph.D in Armored Core VI and Elden Ring stats. Super impressive. I always wonder how my stats affect my infusions and whatnot, how effective things are vs X or Y enemy. I’ve so many questions as to how it all works and what the formulas are behind infusions…..
These gave me the win against Rellana with Bloodflame Blade, which you can imbue on your claws, and Mimic Tear. She wants to be aggressive? I can be aggressive too.
I've been using the running attacks to chase down people, it's hilarious how a lot of people seem to underestimate the kind of ground you can cover with them
I coincidentally wanted to try a dragon lightning build with the claws and just so happen to learn lightning is the way to go anyway lol Thanks cright, love you!
Something very notable to add is that the Raging Beast AoW has I-frames on its initial dash in. While it doesn't have hyper armor, you can time it like a roll to dodge through then end of an enemy's combo and then quickly follow up with the attack portion of the AoW.
another thing i like to do with beast claw on my dex-int melee mage is put up a greatblade phalanx, and then rush people down with the claw moveset! the Raging Beast AoW can mix up the timing the blades fire off, or even combo into it. and the feint attack works nice with them, too
While savage beast I think is better because all it takes is one well timed click, I still find raging beast very good for pvp. It isn't as reliable as blind spot but it's chasing and pressure are really strong if the other player isn't used to the moveset. Sadly....does lose hard to a hyper armor player who doesn't panic. Still love them though, they gave me something I wanted for a long time. To play and feel like an actual beast in a game.
Thanks for the guides! One thing that looked really interesting in the DLC is the new teleporting sorcery, especially in a super tanky, heavy rolling build that can use it instead of dodging. The fact that it's a dodge that can be chained into other spells makes me think it could be a combo machine!
Im running these as a dex faith build with lightning infusion. You buff yourself with golden vow and run electrocute. With the lightning scorpion talisman, it does a surprising amount of damage with electrocute proximity where you dont even need to hit them to deal constant electric damage. Samething with the hand to hand weapons
The Smithscript weapons (like the lone Throwing Blades weapon we got) are going to be interesting to cover; even setting aside the whole no-FP ranged attacks, the innate Int and Faith scalings that boost physical damage do funny things when Magic/Cold/Flame Art/Sacred infused.
Beast Claw? BEST Claw. A really, really fun combo I've been running is off-hand beast claw/ main-hand martial art. Between the shmovement of beast claw, the poise damage of MA kicks, and Palm Blast? Tarnished-sized enemies don't stand a chance. Hell, they took Mesmer down with relative ease, and I was on NG+!
I'm glad that the Red Bear's Claw isn't just an inferior version (out of fashion) of even Heavy Beast Claws, and that the Ash of War is actually quite strong.
I quite like the DLC overall. The majority of the new weapons added are fun. I think some broken weapon arts will be fixed for sure. I'll probably give it a 9/10 really.
I wonder how sky high your expectation was. I think it's better than base game. 9/10 only issues are performance and how ridiculously broken some new things are (they obviously never playtested the tracking bow with status arrows on pvp). They also fixed my gripe that was scadutree blessing balance
Now that Glintblades have been super nerfed, do you think you could do an update video for the best poise breaker? Especially with all the new weapons now introduced.
@@ChrighttThey should be allowed to multihit, just not to the absolutely insane degree rolling sparks does. Otherwise they'd be nerfed into the ground. Like... Their whole thing is being the Wing of Astel ash and that thing can do multi hitbox damage, which is the main use of the ash in PVE.
I might do both actually. I'm thinking about covering the smithscript weapons together first because they might be bugged atm, and if it is indeed a bug and not a feature, I will elaborate on it individually during their own weapon type videos.
Danes footwork is my absolute favorite weapon and I wish it will be a standard weapon category for the next souls like games from fromsoft. I stun locked malenia with running r2, r1 and weapon art combos nonstop until poise break. Dmg is a bit low but hell of fun.
Been having lots of fun using offbclaw with great katana, nobody expects the near instant gk windup right after the L1, although it hardly ever stuns on the first hit it somehow still works(likely cause to get priority the opponent would need to be starting their own attack while they ate being hit by the claw, meaning only HA weapons users would have the guts to do that)
My only complain about the beastclaw is the lack of armor on your lefthand when using a seal 🤣 When you use full armor, it looks kinda silly when your left hand is naked 🙈
These suck against some bosses since the way it attacks can conflict with bosses' hitboxes making you hit nothing due to this these bosses can only be hit by one side.
Hey which weapon would be good to stunlock enemys ? There is a lot of info about PVP poise but not too much vs PVE. For example it is possible to stunlock bosses ? or even perma stun them ?
I’m kinda sad these weapons seem to scale primarily wit Str. For Dex-Arc builds. Bleed/poison isn’t really an optimal option. Thankfully my bleed build is Str/Arc.
stagger just flinches them. Poise break means you can do a critical hit on them with the special animation. Yeah, some enemies just can't be staggered.

Claws are fun but so many harder dlc enemies have hyper armor and just ruin your day
Fun in PVP
The H2H deals with poise knights really well imo.
Worthy risk, stance breaks, fast, infinite poise ash... yea the claws seemed sub par wen compared
Works on pvp at least
If they can be bled, Beast Claw with Raging Beast is still a great option to dodge and counter their attack at once and can be spammed
Yea. I've been finding that the black steel great hammer is the way to go due to the fact that all these Claws and stuff don't stagger
