Apparently (according to the wiki, haven't gotten to test it myself) if you call Gabe a specimen instead of burying the guilt, it festers and at the end of the DLC if you get the rest of the Think Tank to stand up to Klein, over wanting to spare you for more experiments and seeing you as another cold hearted colleague, he just wants to protect you: "I, for one, cannot bear to let this continue.-" "I don't see what is to be gained by throwing another body into our labs... especially one that has done us a service, gone where we feared to go." "This Lobotomite doesn't deserve our knives. It deserves our respect. We should care for it. Feed it. Nurture it - give it the life Gabe never had.-"
this part actually almost made me cry at first i hated what he did to his own dog then i heard his side and he really wanted to be with his best friend for the rest of his existence but couldn’t make it happen, the voice acting is amazing too, not perfect but thats what makes it so authentic

Poor Gabe grew so big with love and red with the dried blood of... wait a minute! Clifford is big and red, does that make him a hungry murder doggo too? If only there was a mod, that let players ride Gabe... to freedom and beyond!
