When my brother-in-law got married the ceremony lasted exactly 7 minutes. My husband is in the video looking at his watch and saying, "That was 7 whole minutes!"

Growing up in an Italian Catholic family, having a wedding reception without a full bar is pretty much sacrilegious.
ya Im from a Baptist household and we would have had family member leaving the reception if we had served any alcohol at all. I had multiple people offended because a guest bought us a bottle of wine and placed it on the gift table.

When my uncle got married he had the full Italian catholic wedding, it was over 3 hours long. But the reception party was epic, 50+ different foods, open bar and most of the adults drunk out of their minds. I was only 11 but I was thoroughly entertained by the fist fight and three of the groomsmen passed outside on the curb.

Hi! I did the sand unity at my wedding and I also had to dye the sand so it was the same colour as the wedding colours plus it was way cheaper then the pre dyed sand from the craft store.
I love that Carol Burnet dress skit.

I feel like this ceremony and mission statement went on for years too, so big relate. No one sane dyes sand, you can just buy it precoloured or at least you could in the 90s when it was trendy to make sand art. It 100% was a wedding, agree. I love you all but I'm with your mom on the pasta thing.

For my wedding the only thing I asked of the DJ is that he play New Kids on the Block, he confirmed he had the music and agreed to play them. During the reception my friends asked him to play it and he said oh I don't have any of their music. I was so upset. Luckily I had a tape/CD in my car and he was able to play one. My DJ was horrible along with the photographer, the only things that the in-laws picked out. I wanted them to be a part of it so asked for their input. Should've stuck with my gut and not involved them. AAAGGGHHH
I went to a wedding that had a unity candle. Lovely thought, but no one thought matches or a lighter would be nice…with fewer people that smoke these days, that was a scramble!
I found out a couple days before daughter’s wedding that no candles in LA County 😳 I bought battery ones for the remembrance candles for missing parents/grandparents. People asked me later how we got them to stay lit in the wind (ocean site). 🤣

Devil’s advocate here. Maybe they didn’t realize that their slowly walking out as a family, mixing sand, vows spoken, etc., we’re wedding ceremony acts since they’d only ever experienced their Mormon polygamist ceremonies.

I saw Carole Burnett live and behind me was a drag queen wearing the Gone with the Wind dress. She went up on stage once Carole saw, and it was a riot. So funny! The dress was so good and mich better than the ones in this episode!

Long before the internet. I liked to leave early to a event I've also do a drive buy sometimes before hand .In case I get lost. I arrive early to get a good parking place.and sit in my car. Now with Google maps it's not as necessary .
Have you ever been to a Catholic wedding? They are the worst! Full Mass with a wedding in the middle.
Not having an open bar at a wedding is a mortal sin in my circles. Yes there is always a guest who drinks to much and they have to cut off.
