I am not a Mormon, but my mother was. She was excommunicated because my dad was a professional boxer and the LDS did not approve. Two men came to our house, in suits, asked my mom if she was ever going to leave the marriage, she said no. They said she can continue to tithe but to consider herself excommunicated. She did not continue to tithe.
😂😂😂So they never wanted to see her face again but she can send them her money! 😂😂😂

My son and his wife, both had problems with fertility.
They did IVF. Got pregnant the first time. They feel lucky to have him.
My daughter also had problems. Her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Had our granddaughter an are glad to have her. She inherited a. Stepson. He’s is grown and there dad has passed. He still treats us all as family.
He loves us an we love him. He doesn’t remember us never being in his like. He’s our bonus grandson.

Kody was pissed off on this trip because Robyn choose to ride with Mari and not Kody.
I was raised Mormom LDS we always referred to Joseph Smith as just that never heard anyone call him Joe. Also, I remember being taught that his wife Emma did not want him to do polygamy so he didn't. So all these years later with all this information coming people kept journals (we were always taught to keep journals) the church LDS released these documents and essays that told all about all these wives Joseph Smith had. I feel it's a sad part of the pioneer history especially that he married girls as young as 14. I agree 100% with you Nikki to watch documentaries would be so much better than listening to the Browns. Or there is always Mormon stories on UA-cam. Thanks for being so awesome just love you guys you make these recaps so fun to listen to. Merry Chirstmas.
the interesting thing about mormonism is that they have a very curated official history. You could talk to mormons in different parts of the country and they might not know Joseph smith was a polygamist at all. Watch the mormon stories podcast!!

You are spot on absolutely right! I was raised in the religion and was told polygamy was so all the widows could have a man and it started out west with Brigham Young. I didn't even know Joseph Smith was a polygamist until I was 24 and already deep in the church!
Good these people always bring me back to something my son said when he was under 5 years old lol. We showed him a picture of Bill nye the science guy and said who is this he said "ohh that's bill". Ohhh just bill like he lived next for and we see him every day lol.
Joseph Smith was called Joe by those who hated and persecuted him from all I've learned, so I was surprised they said they revered him and called him Joe. It seemed disrespectful!
Watching the Brown family pack and go on a trip was always so entertaining .... They had no clue how to prepare (check the tires) or plan (what is reasonable length to travel with small kids) or pack for a trip.

I'd love to see you find the one-on-one where Kody actually explains to Suki why he married Christine. "Ego, Baby - I'm a polygamist" after calling her polygamy royalty because of her connection to some very powerful bloodlines. I guess it was enough to force him to marry the chubby girl sitting in his car scarfing down chilli cheese nachos and turning his stomach.
Remember Kody’s repulsive crepes over Christmas. (He shouldn’t talk about others food favorites.)

Both Christine and Meri have Mormon ancestors that they refer to on their trip to Nauvoo if I remember correctly.

This family has bees copying all the storylines from the HBO series Big Love They also took a trip to Nuevo Illinois.
Not copying as much as Big Love was following the CULTure playbook.
My take on the Meri/ Kody fight about driving is that Kody wanted alone time with Robin. So he wanted to drive with Robin. Meri, in turn, did NOT want them to have alone time, so she wasn't leaving that driver's seat.
Mykelty was the nanny in SLC. Catfish...Meri had an affair and was leaving...who knows this family lied so much is hard to know.
True but Meri was emotionally abandoned and emotionally abused by Kody. I wish it turned out to be a happy ending for Meri instead of a catfish. I remember wanting her to leave Kody so bad back then. He had started being so mean to her.

I grew up with only a handful of mormon kids in my neighborhood in oakland california where the majority of the population here is catholic or baptist or muslim, there is a huge mormon temple on the hill where us non-mormon kids convinced eachother it was the view of disneyland from afar. Mormon kids were pretty nice but i dont know much about that religion either

Nobody, but nobody called or calls him “Joe.” Im exmormon with lots of Mormon family. Also, Joseph died in a shootout as he also had a gun.
Nauvoo is a big historical site for those Mormon.

I was a member of the Mormon church for 30 years and no one ever called him Jo Smith here in Scotland! In my experience with the church they are very frugal with the history they give you of the church as a matter of course. You actually have to go into the history yourself to find out a lot of things. Whether that’s any different within priesthood I don’t know but certainly as a woman it was kept basic.

Joe Smith did have many polyamorous wives, a few that he met as children and then married later, and some were children. A lot was hidden so that is why it was unclear.
Mormons are not taught much about the true history of the church and Joseph Smith. Most find out and it is one of the things that starts their process of researching and their exit from the religion. And no, I have never heard anyone call him Ol'Joe!!😂😂

The Mormon pioneers had more women members in the Church than men, plus more men were dying as they migrated West (from doing the dangerous things) than women, so polygamy made sense at the time. Women needed a man's protection in the early 1800s.
