So many people suffer from Fatty Pancreas but have never been checked for it, or told they have it by their doctor.
The bad news is that your diet caused your Fatty Pancreas, and your doctor can't fix it with a pill or an injection. The good news is you can fix your own pancreas by fixing your diet!

Another Excellent Video! Thanks Doc! You remind me of my Dad. I might be biased but he was the best physician I have ever known. Now I can say there is another and it is You.
Educating a doctor is normally an exercise in futility. It has been my experience that many actually believe that M.D. is an abbreviation of "medical deity." Have you ever read Diabetes Solution by Dr. Bernstein? He did provide some very useful information but still is mired in mainstream medicine. Good book though. I tried to get my M.D. in Virginia to read the book but he would not. All of the R.N.s in his office read it so I gave it to them. I no longer use M.D.s. I do have some health challenges but will treat myself. I grew up in a medical family. My access to medical texts was excellent throughout my life. I read them all in my Dad's library. I noticed lots of differences between his medical texts(med school late 1930's) and his father's texts (med school 1900). My Dad was a "country GP" after WWII giving up a surgical residency at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Again..... Doc your videos are excellent and I hope you keep on teaching viewers how to take control of their own health.

They say that God was wandering around Heaven acting rather strangely. Saint Peter got concerned and summoned up the spirit of Sigmund Freud to see if he could figure out the problem. God and Dr. Freud go into a room and talk. After several days, Dr. Freud comes out, looking concerned, and Saint Peter rushes up to him. "Dr. Freud! What's wrong? Do you have a diagnosis?" Freud strokes his beard, and says, "It's a very serious case. He thinks he's a doctor!" (I hasten to add that this is in no way aimed at Dr. Berry.)

Dr. Bernstein helped me 5 years ago from his book. He's not mired in mainstream medicine. He's the best thing that's happened to diabetics and he's living proof. I think Dr. Berry is great and there are other Dr.s as well. Dr. Bozworth,Dr. Fung and others. Not many but a few.

@Redrum no one on a low carb/keto diet misses cheeseburgers. The only difference is no roll but lots of people have bread substitutes. I don't like those so I just skip the bread. I'll have a burger with cheese and bacon and can have pickles on it or Mayo or mustard.

I was having nausea and upper right quadrant stabbing pains off and on about 8 weeks ago. My labs all looked fine except for one slightly elevated liver enzyme. My doc finally ordered a CT and the only thing they could find was fatty liver of one lobe? I think. Now the doc never told me this mind you. I had to log onto My Chart to see the radiologists report. No follow-up even from the doc. The report even says something to the effect of the "upper quadrant pain is not attributable to the fatty liver?" and i was like, well i'm pretty sure it is.
It just so happens that the same doc who never follows up actually referred me to the metabolic clinic at their facilities because of their lifestyle program. I joined it a week later. Within about 2 weeks all my pain disappeared. Now of course i can't say for sure, but I'm convinced the fatty liver is starting to heal itself already. The only thing i'm grateful to that doc for is referring me to the clinic. i truly believe it saved my life. They put me on a keto plan and i haven't looked back. 7th week now and 25 pounds gone, no more pain....

the doctors don't tell you a fatty liver/pancreas can be cured by diet because your another ''crack head' that they enslave to chemical dependency. they get a cut from big pharma. Big Pharma pays the rich men north of Richmond to give Americans food stamps to by junk'' food'' instead of real food. the education systems don't teach us the function of our organs or the symptoms and diseases of failing organs. or better yet.. which micro and macro nutrients help keep organs healthy. You tube/ big tech don't let us tell people that we can cure/ reverse our disease by depositing micro/macro nutrients into our bodies. content creators have to say '' may help reduce'' or ''may help improve''. i have to spend 4 days researching my own health on you tube to find out that all our diseases are reversable and are definitively the symptoms of vitamin and mineral deficiency. wake up people. we are slaves.

I had a gastric band fitted 10 years ago. It did NOTHING to keep me from feeling hungry. I lost no weight. I put weight on. A complete waste of time and it took me many years to stop feeling guilty for going to an extreme to loose weight. Since going keto and following Dr Berry’s advice, I’ve lost 80lbs. This man saved my life.

I did the same thing in 2007. I had the band done with my cousin. We knew 4 other people that had it done. All of us ended up gaining except one. She initially lost and then gained it all back with more.
I did the HCG diet in 2011, I lost 55 pounds, but I was starving! 500 calories a day was so hard. No fat. My hair was coming out in clumps. I ended up gaining it all back and then got my biggest in 2022. On January 2, 2023, I started ketovore. Then after 2 weeks started carnivore. I’m never hungry. I feel satiated all day. I don’t eat after 3 pm. I started out eating 2-3 meals. Now I only want one. I don’t crash. I have steady energy all day. My high BP has been getting lower. I’m down 21 pounds in 5 weeks. I’m also down 3” chest, 5-1/2” waist, 5” hips, 2” thigh. I love this woe. ❤
I wish I had never had lapband. I regretted it immediately after the surgery.

I'm so glad to have stumbled across this video. About 2 years ago, my husband was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis.
He spent 8 days in the hospital having every test performed under the sun to determine the cause without result. The doctors could not believe that he did not consume alcohol given his symptomology and they diagnosed him with non-alcoholic pancreatitis of undetermined cause. Even though his gall bladder was uninflamed and had no visible stones, they wanted to remove it. My husband refused as he did not want to undergo surgery for an unnecessary procedure. All of his blood results, including blood sugars, were within the normal range.
Just a note: My husband is overweight and carries most of his weight in his belly (in fact, from the back, you would not really know he was that overweight) He was eating very poorly (typical North American diet) at the time and in particular, was consuming copious amounts of milk and starchy foods.
Fast forward to today... I have been following a ketogenic diet for the past 2 months and have seen significant improvement in so many areas of my physical and mental health, to say nothing of the loss of 18 lbs (mostly belly fat that I gained in the past few years from stress, poor diet, and perimenopausal hormone fluctuations).
While my husband is not doing keto with me, my health improvements have not gone unnoticed by him. In the past 2 months, he has completely cut out liquid milk and subsequently lost significant inches (and pounds) from his belly. He is a fairly picky eater and as such, is reluctant to go keto because he worries he would find the food boring. He does love to cook and eat meat cooked in butter, so I honestly think the transition would be easier than he thinks.
Just this morning we were talking about how the bread that he consumes in his workday sandwiches tends to make him feel bloated and tired (just like milk used to) and he said he'd like to try cutting it out (one baby step at a time). I mentioned that I firmly believed that his pancreatitis of 2 years ago was most likely related to his diet and the beginning of possible insulin resistance. He dismissed the idea, saying that all his test results were normal.
I'm going to try to get him to watch this video in the hopes of convincing him of the likely link between his pancreatitis and impending issues with blood sugar/insulin resistance/type 2 diabetes.
Thanks again for all the awesome information!

Doc, thanks for your videos. I was a T2 diabetic for around 15 years taking insulin the past 7. Mass quantities of both long and short acting. On January 1 at the encouragement of my son both my wife and I went on Keto. Now, all my siblings were diagnosed T2 when we turned 50 so my thoughts were it's a terrible disease that I'm just going to have to live with. Well, as the months rolled by I started to experience more and more lows. On May 15 I started using the Dexcom G6 CGM and discovered that the powdered creamer I was putting in my coffee was making my BG spike. So I stopped that. Stopped using short acting insulin 3 days later and have been good since. Three days ago I stopped using long acting and am just fine. The last thing I need to cut out is my daily Farxiga pill and I will be MED free! Sorry for going on so long but I just feel the need to shout this from the rooftops! I do have a question; My wife suffers from bouts with diverticulitis - will Keto help control this issue? Thanks for all you do.

Hello from the UK. Thanks for all the great content, it's kept me going thru the early stages of keto. I've been in nutritional ketosis a couple of times and the difference between that and how I've felt all my life is like night and day. If I've got more of that in my future, I'll keep going!
Not sure if you are aware of, or have any control over, the advert content. This particular vid was preceded by an ad for dairy free margarine. I have noticed quite a lot of the ad content is the antithesis of the message you - and other proponents of keto - are communicating. Whilst I'm not swayed by it, others might be. Having those ads makes it appear that those products are safe because they're attached to your content. Was just a little thought I had 😁
In any case, I love your work and your accent. I've shared a few of your vids with family and friends and I really loved your 'apology' video. So wonderfully cheeky and sarcastic, I have to give you my personal approval and grant you 'Honorary Brit' status 😉 that vid had me laughing out loud. Awesome, just awesome. Anyways, quick shout out to the keto family here, how y'all doin'? Have a great day. Cheerio

I love snarky! I had VGS at 296 lbs. Oh how I wish I had done more research and found any ketogenic information then (2014). Right after surgery, the doctor told my husband he didn't like the way my liver looked and we should follow up on that in the next few months. Amazing, I was compliant and went to every appointment for the next year and it was never mentioned again. Well, four years later, I've maintained my over 100 pounds lost but just can't seem to get much further. But, my last blood work showed all levels were excellent. I'm enjoying keto immensely and know that's how I need to be eating. My husband's blood sugars after eating are now consistently below 140. Morning/fasting are still high but waiting to get his next A1c. His last one was 6.3. Thanks for all your great information!!!

Thank you doctor! Good stuff. Scary on the side of what doctors may tell you. I am so grateful for the human body being so incredible. I now know why I’ve craved salt in my life, or even the actual fat on some meats. The body is intelligent, self sustaining, and now 43 years young, I listen. I hate that I’ve been so cruel to my body and well being. I credit bad medical research to some of this though. Thank you for your videos. They aren’t radical to me and I hope others wake up and realize this.

Thank you doctor! Your content is amazing. Thank am just about certain that the young man I consulted last week had this going on. A young athlete with a major sugar habit who had a high A1c, high liver enzymes, and pain in the pancreas area upon waking. He had never been told anything was wrong😢. We had a “come to Jesus” conversation and he is one week free and sober of sugar! 🙌🏽

Another awesome video Dr. Berry. It is a shame more doctors do not take the initiative you take to spread knowledge instead of pills.

Lost my sister in law(at 37!) To "type 2 diabetes!!" Go figure!!! Completely insane...granted her "family" is a whole 'nother kind of "special". Maybe I shouldn't be so disastrously depressed over her brother passing away on me the way he did. He *was* the only thing keeping me tied to that heap of psychopathy!😱

As a person who has idiopathic chronic pancreatitis (possible gallbladder surgery issue, first pancreatitis attack was after emergency surgery after I gave birth constant GB attacks during pregnancy - ouch!), I can only imagine how painful fatty pancreas could be. The pancreas is a sensitive organ and doesn't like to be aggravated.

When I became a diabetic, the only treatment I was given was insulin. I didn’t like the way it made me feel and my two wonderful daughters and I started doing research and ended up changing my diet to exactly what you are talking about! I now control my diabetes with diet only, thank God! I never did find a doctor that gave me this kind of advice, so I’m sharing with several friends who either don’t believe me or are just to stubborn to give up what they consider to be to hard change (all of the sweet treats) and live healthy! I prefer eating the way I do now. I feel so much better!

Everything you are taking about, has happened to me. I’m doing better after a stay in the hospital for pancreatitis. Now 16 days later, I have lost 22 pounds. Sugar is down to 108, bp 110/80, and I’m feeling better. Doing strict Keto for 8 hours, 16 hours of intermittent fasting. Stopped all alcohol and am getting high on life at 57.

I'm looking for one too and haven't found it. I've had pancreatitis and was told by others with it to eat low fat. From what I understand pancreatitis isn't the same as fatty pancreas. No dr even online seems to have any info or they are too afraid to help

I'd love to hear from anyone that actually had pancreatitis and is carnivore. Mine is NOT from alcohol so I guess it's idiopathic

I no longer have gallbladder because of stones. But my MB’s have changed and I started researching why. That’s how I found you (grateful). Should I take pancreas enzymes and eat a keto diet? Yes, I need to loose weight and I have been told I’m pre-diabetic. Never has any doctors told me about the progress you have. Thank you
