no one was even shooting at you, lack of troops on the beach, no explosions, nothing cinimatic, looks like a game from 15 years ago.
Easy difficulty...
MOW1 is somehow better than the sequel.
Even the deaths look stupid. Like flying back like they were hit by a marvel hero.

These guys have been using the same antique engine for 20 years and they have released the same game over and over with asset flips under different names.
Faces of war, call to arms, 6 different men of war releases all looking the same almost.
And the game looks so liveless. No wind effects, no light effects, no moving grass or plants, the infantry are statues pointing their gun like these old army men toys without idle animation. If no units move the screen looks like its frozen
Compared for CoH a much older game that did the Omaha beach landing so much better, cinematic, bloody, so much mayhem, explosions and bullets while this looks like a walk in the park.

Men Of War Assault Squad 2 which came out several years ago seems to be still far better.

@@newstodaytommorrow because the thing people love about Men Of War Assault Squad 2 is the endless amount of mods ranging from medieval to ACW to Iraq, and there doesn't really seem to be much innovation in Men Of War 2 compared to Assault Squad 2 the gameplay seems almost exactly the same with a different HUD, I haven't played the game but that's just what it looks like to me. and with maps there are tons of detailed mods developed over the past 10 years with huge realistic maps like seen in Men Of War 2, I agree with you I didn't like the narrow vertical maps in MoW AS 2 but mods easily fixed that issue for me.
I feel like Men Of War 2 2024 will only be amazing due mods, Men Of War AS 2 also has GEM Editor where you can create your own missions, maps, scenarios etc.

Disappointed in what I’m seeing.
Units are still basically statues when stationary, it feels more like you’re controlling mobile turrets than people.
Units still have the same voice lines from 2008
Units still pivot like they’re on a rotating platform
Units still bunch up and conga-line when under fire
Still no panic/moral feature
Units still don’t path through trenches, they just walk through them.
Still using the dated GEM engine
UI Elements somehow look worse
If you’re interested in this game, just play the old ones until this goes on sale lol

This game looks like GOHs little brother who was dropped on his head.the graphics are worse, the voice dialog is just awful, and the whole experience of D-Day was so under whelming, no artillary or planes flying over barely any resistance this was like tge worst representation of this battle ive ever seen. "I got grass all over my pants from sitting here doing nothing" just terrible...

I don't think the graphics are any worse than GOH. The mission reminds me of a similar tutorial from company of heroes, it would be difficult to make a tutorial style mission that would do the landings justice

I played this exact same mission 5+ years ago as a MOWAS 2 mod by Sir Hinkel. He now works for this games devs. Shockingly little improvement to this game over MOWAS 2 from 13 years ago.
They released the same game like 6 times and 2 copies with different names Faces of War and the 2015 one. The devs are cashgrabbers not interested in improving their game and just put in the minimal work to charge another full price
CtA: GoH - Ostfront is the better game. And it's still improving.
This is even less intense than that Omaha mission from Medal of Honor Allied Assault.

They also made Call to Arms (2015) but Men of War 2 will release tomorrow.
They are releasing the game again with a few tweaks. Squeezing the juice out of that orange 😅

That voice acting and dialogue is absolute cheese. No seriousness at all. Its like a really bad comedy show you went to for cheap drinks and salad bar. the first CoH has better lines than this. Imagine getting shot at by an mg42 and you just stand up and yell "for freedom," before charging into machine gun fire.

This absolutely poor effort of a decent normandy beaches landing has literally just stopped me from buying the game right. That has got to be the worse looking Normandy landing ever no mass landing with tons of boats dropping troops it llooks shit sorry but they really screwed up here in my opinion this should have been much more explosive theirs bo german air support, artillery fire, no naval offshore bombardments its just to empty no men storming the beaches jist your four sappers and a handful of ncp allies i get its a tuturial but they couls have made it look how poeple would expect in a brand new game

Nah get MoWAssualtSquad2 this is just a downgraded carbon copy with old voice lines with worse UI with the same graphics for quadruple the price.
The only good thing about this would be the updated mod support.
The co-op campaign is equal to the other versions though and there are some new mechanics that make microing less troublesome

@@cassu6 Yes GoH has a lot of mods, from Vietnam to cold war to star wars to Iron harvest or even just simple missions for the base game. There's a lot!
@@cassu6 their modding community is very small mainly because it's newer but it will eventually be equal to the MoW community
I've been playing Men of War Assault Squad 2 the last week or so. It's one of my favourites. I'm so glad they are coming out with another MOW game.

Its insane how lazy this dev is re using the same tired ass voicelines from fucking 2008, units just stand around when under fire, units still cant figure out how to enter a trench or that they have to back up when they throw a dynamite etc moreover how does the UI look worse then it did 10 years ago. lmfao

I mean the vehicles don't even make tracks in the dirt while moving, the soldiers are stiff and everything just looks bland :/ Such a shame

Pretty lame Normandy beach landing mission, for how intense and horrific the actual event was, this looks like it was designed for a toddler. I understand it's a tutorial mission. A) pick a different tutorial setting, similar games used "basic training" themed tutorials. B) even tutorial missions can offer an intense experiences. The map is just dead, empty beach, ai that just runs aimlessly around the map, where's the enemy? No artillery? Mortars? MG's resistance? This is lame AF.
Don't want to be mean or something, but the game looks like a time travel back to 2010. Why don't they use EU5 or Unity? Instead of reinveting the shovel and wheel, spend your time and money on the game and its mechanic.

Idk I’m not a fan.. At first glance it seems to unlock newer more advanced units you have to win and gain essentially research points to unlock later units, and the game modes are confusing. I miss MoWAS2 where you had to capture enemy points but you could use points to buy whatever units you wanted and pursue the enemies.. here you basically only get what the game starts you off with. For me a waste of $45
Oh big issue: enemy AI can lob grenades at you from farrrr away and even on easy they spam it and one grenade has killed 5 of my people and they weren’t even close together. Infantry are useless.. and if you try to lob grenades your soldier runs basically right up to the enemy and doesn’t get the same range

Long time fan of the series. I’ve said this before. This game has an identity crisis and does not faithfully carry as a sequel. I won’t list my grievances again. Disappointed and saddened by the absolute state of the game.

It plays smoother then goh, but Graphics and sounds a little bit of a back step. That was also kinda bs AI when your whole squad got wiped out in the bunker. I'd like to know what happened cause the camera wasn't facing on the troops when they all got annihilated. At least you could call in more.

@@Timoruz I guess not everyone finds the same things fun. For me and my friends like half the fun is playing this game tired or drunk and just shouting the nonsensical voice lines. Even my usermane (not the @ one on yt) is a mishearing of a german voice line. Personally i find them to be the most charming part of the game lol
@@cassu6 I wouldn’t mind a refresh of the same voice lines with modern recording equipment. I think the reason I get annoyed with them is because I make a lot of custom missions and I constantly hear these lines over and over.
