As a woman who followed Pearl's "ideal path," (years before I ever knew who she was): having one boyfriend before marrying, being a virgin for my husband, getting married at 21... Men should be just as guarded with their intimacy as women, and stepping out on your wife is in no way traditional or conservative. She advises everyone to walk the same path, prescribing what women SHOULD be instead of recognizing who we are. My point is that I don't expect every girl to do as I have done. My own path has its own cons it is never perfect. Plus, if you can't even practice what you preach, your position is worthless.

When they diminish men's cheating it really means that if a man is married to a woman and he has sex with another woman it's not nearly a big deal compared to a woman doing it, but the betrayal part of the cheating still stands the same, and right here it depends on how much the man values betrayal. Some men will value betrayal in an absolute way like a sin (any kind of betrayal is equally bad), and some will value it subjectively based on what was done (men's cheating is not so bad, but scamming someone to out all of their money is very bad). In my opinion if you are a man of integrity you'd value all betrayal equally as bad, so you wouldn't cheat on your woman even if it isn't "so bad". The thing is that men naturally want variety, but most men also can't really afford to lose a woman by telling her about it upfront because most women will not like it, so the guy will value betrayal subjectively and will never tell the girl about him wanting variety and when she it'll be an "oopsie" that he hopes the girl will not make a big deal out of. This is what the cheating conversation is all about, cheating is bad but women should also be aware of what is going on in men's head when dealing with the topic.
Now about the "ideal path". If a girl is looking for marriage then your path is indeed the best one, all stats and history proves it. If a girl is not looking for marriage then she doesn't have to follow that path, but the problem is that modern women starts out looking for the modern hedonistic/consumer lifestyle and then after it is way too late (not just age but everything else too) now they suddenly want a marriage and a family, and men that also want a marriage and family have to tell the truth which is we don't want to commit women like that compared to women that were looking for marriage and did all of the right things towards it since the start, just like a woman that wants to form a family would not want a guy that is 30 and barely has a job and still plays videogames for 6h a day.
