Where do I go to school? I am a graduate from the University of Oregon with a major in Human Physiology with a minor in Media Studies. I just graduated nursing school in Portland, OR and work in Pediatric Oncology.

I have a lot of health issues. It can be very depressing. One of the things I do is mail cards to friends and family. And I put in butterfly magnets, cute post its or pocket hugs. I also take some in when I have doctors appt and give them to reception, nurses, phlebotomist, doctors etc. I make myself feel better by giving someone a smile. Even if it is a tiny thing. It makes me feel better.
Aww I love this so so much! These are the little things that make us slow down in life and appreciate all the good. One of my resolutions this year was to send more cards and tell people I appreciate them and it has been so fun and meaningful to do so!

I genuinely would love to hear what you have to say about what you do for a living and what you’ve experienced in words you feel best describing it. My dad had two different spans of his life where he fought cancer and recently the last three years were the hardest him and my family had to go through. This time around the age I’m at (23) I saw a lot more and also was there to hear all the information from any doctor he had. It was an incredibly hard time to go through and so heavy. He passed away this past December and it’s been the hardest time of my life, but being able to have understood from doctors who explained in the easiest of ways to tell my family and him what steps were going to be made anytime he had an appointment was the breath of fresh air through these years.
Thank you for doing what you do. 💛 I can’t express what it means to have people like you in this world.
YES! I’m in nursing school and I journal after clinicals every week. I just want to remember, plus it helps get things off me 💕
I'm grateful for my entire family, but more specifically I'll mention my 4 nieces. I'm just obsessed with everything they do & they bring me so much joy. I'm also grateful to have a stable roof over my head & the fact that I know I can always go pick up a good book to read.

It’s really valuable when nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals really care about their patients. Of course, it shouldn’t go beyond you in a way that will hurt you, but the fact that you really care already changes your approach and intentions toward patients. ❤️ I think they appreciate and benefit from that care more than you will ever know.
Hi, Kiara. I started following you recently because I’m about to start my LPN program and I was looking for some nursing student videos in my city (PDX). I found you and I’ve been watching all your videos 😅 and just getting myself filled with all your joy and optimism during your journey in nursing. Literally you’re giving me so much hope and confidence about starting my own experience with school.
My respect for you working with pediatric patients on the oncology department. As a HL survivor, I can tell you that I keep my best memories of the nurses that took care of me during that battle. I know that I’ll not be the right candidate for that position, just because I’ve so many feelings involved and I don’t feel capable of staying mentally stable. So much respect for nurses like you who work so hard and give the kids all the care and support they need. Have a nice week. ❤

Awesome vlog as always, Kiara! Hope you have an amazing & awesome Memorial Day long weekend this weekend! Canadians like me had our long weekend last weekend, Victoria Day long weekend, that is! And it was just last Saturday my nephew Noah proposed to Victoria, his girlfriend of 4 years & she said yes! We had a little celebration at his parents' place in honor of their engagement! Wedding is scheduled for next year, my guessing in the summer!
