By Train Across Japan, Chapter Five: Morioka to the Sanriku Coast on the Yamada and Sanriku Lines.

Just another day abusing a 14 day JR Railpass. Today it's a morning walk in Morioka, then the Yamada Line to Miyako, followed by the Sanriku Line to Kuji, then on to Hachinohe and back to Morioka. Some incredibly scenic trains.

This video was super helpful since I'm trying to take advantage of the JR east tohoku pass and I need a visual to decide which routes are worth taking. The greenery on the yamada line is so lush. Hope it will look even better in autumn.
