I had plantar fasciitis and figured out it was from soft cushioned soles, so I started wearing firm cushioned shoes, and I'm fine. The New Balance 847v4 is great. I have very high arches, so my feet were very bouncy in the soft cushioned shoes I used to wear. The 847v4 is firm cushion. None of that injurious bouncing that is so fashionable.

My doctor told me today that I need MORE cushion. Now I don't know what to believe.

    • @BodellsShoes
      @BodellsShoes  2 роки тому +1

No, cushion is not the answer. You want lift. That way weight is distributed proportionally.

You need to support your arch that will balance the pressure that is. Own on your front of the foot and heal. The bands he speaks of will be corrected bringing up a good arch.

You should do a video and title it something like "beware of soft cushioned shoes." People would love to hear you talk about it in more depth. BTW, you convinced me to buy SAS shoes. Thank you!

Great Idea! We will see about making a video for '22 covering this topic. Glad we could help you find yourself a pair of SAS!

ive had planter fasciitis for about a decade now. i buy a new pair of shoes every 90 days. the insole becomes a washboard with pits from pressure points, while the outside still appears brand new. when you said skechers, it caught my attention lol, cause thats what i buy. the UltraGo version. ive been addicted to the super soft cushioning. but even they wear out inside in just a few months. ive recently started tryin these blade sole shoes. theyre a lot firmer, but more cushion. its hard to explain. but where my feet are so flat and been so long, theyre about painful to wear. im a night stocker for a retail store, so on my feet the entire night. 10k to 12k steps each night.

Can you recommend a good golf shoe for plantar fasciitis? I take a cart but there is still a good deal of walking back and forth from the green to the cart. Also if the golf cart is restricted to cart path only due to weather, there is a lot of walking. Thanks

Hi Mr. Bodell, thank you for sharing this video, I found it very informative.
I have flat foot and plantar fasciitis (and also mild scoliosis).. What shoes would you recommend? I've tried foot scanner at Hoka and told I have low arch height, low instep height, and wide heel width.
Thank you so much and hope to visit your store one day!

Have you tried more minimalist shoes?
Zero drop and wide toebox? They come in different cushion levels (altras are cushy).

@@BodellsShoes thanks a lot ...do you recommend Nike airmax?

    • @booyoung8664

I'm no doctor but I can tell you that I suffer from some form of flat foot and plantar fasciitis that for some reason severely effects my left foot (and knee) for some reason and if I'm wearing any type of shoe even with a podiatrist constructed insole It doesnt work.. as a matter of fact it tends to make it worse. The only shoe that I can wear all day with no pain is the nike air max. Problem is for me tho is they do not make them with a safety toe and so I've been in a 3 yr battle trying to find a shoe like it with a steel or safety toe. Everyone is different however whatever works for me may not work for you but I can say that shoe is no less than a miracle and boy do I wish they made it in a safety toe.

@@booyoung8664 Were you born with flat feet or do you have an arch that collapses when you stand? I have the latter -- a flexible flat foot (fallen arch) -- so I need firm support in my shoes. I cannot wear shoes that are overly cushioned and bend a lot. My flexible flat feet (fallen arches) need motion control shoes, like the New Balance 928v3. Nikes ruined my feet. They have no firmness or support. Even if you are using customized orthotics from a podiatrist, that does not mean you can put them in any shoe and expect the orthotic alone to help you. A supportive shoe is essential. That's been my experience, after several years of having good orthotics, but wearing the wrong shoes. You've got to find shoes with right amount of support for your particular condition, based on your arch type. Get a good gait analysis of your foot, then get the shoes appropriate for your type: motion control, stability or neutral. Foot pain is complex, challenging to fix, and no fun. Finding the right shoes is an absolute necessity. They can make a big difference, especially when paired with good orthotics. Good luck to you.

I know this seems very funny but I've had this problem for 6 months, And the only thing that helps 100% whilst in the house is a pair of court shoes with a 2 inch block heel they instantly relieve the pain only thing my wife says I can only wear them indoors but that's ok they help alot. Skechers do not help.

check out Haflinger house slippers with cork midsole; they will relieve the pain and mold to your feet.
