Yay!! Anna!! Welcome to the faux bonichi world!! It's addictive and fun to capture the little things in your day. What I love most since I have been doing it since March is my husband and I look back all the time and my hubby always says :Oh yea I remember !" Enjoy the journey!! xoxo
whooop whooop lol. OK so I can so totally see now why you love it so much, I am really enjoying it and it is fun to try and remember your day in that way too isn't it without letting things go past x
For me the appeal is just journalling in little bits. That's a new approach to journalling here in the west in general. There's a pressure to create something that fills a page or a block or something, whereas the whole appeal of this si doing little doodles, little bits of writing and filling the blanks with washi. It's easy to do without much thinking or emotional attachment. I use it for my wind down at the end of the day.
I totally agree with you and I am actually loving this at the moment. I will always use my other journals for different things at different times but then that is why we do it and why it is fun isn't it :D
Glad u joined the Hobo journal for journaling..to much fun and love ur pages!!! u used watercolors never thought of that gotta give that a try :) I do some videos on my channel but then again I'm a beginner art/journal per say TFS :)
I am doing a similar type of journaling in my Fauxdori! I've called it my 'Doodle Diary' planning to take it around with me, if I get time in the day I'll doodle things I can see or things I do, then colour it and write a bit later on in the day :) Lovely video!
It should always be about what you want and what feels good to you! Love your sketches and style. :) it's insane to me the way people go crazy about different journaling/planning books. I've journaled with writing with sketches for years and suddenly people jumped onto this train. The FILO obsession trend is just another example. Kudos for going YOUR WAY, and not folding to the crowd so to say :).
I always do my own thing lolz, I too have been a journaller for years and have always done little sketches with my written journalling. I am a Filofax user though ; )
A lot of us have done it for years. But trying different things and different ways is part of the fun for me. I was using a filofax back in the 90s right through until 2008. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy the fun of re-discovery now.
Great decision. I love the fact that you don't follow the crowd. I tried to get a squared book like that from Paperchase but only managed a smaller spiral bound one. Never mind I can always order one from Amazon. I agree with you about Fauxbonichi being relaxing to do. I missed the fact that I couldn't write long journal entries too so mine is now a real mixture of writing, collage and drawings. Like you say 'it's your journal do what you like!'
oooh no don't like to follow the crowd lol Here is the link for the future but it currently says unavailable :( www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035XENMK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00
Haven't fallen down this well yet 😉but I do love to look at pictures of Hobonichis on tumblr!! Love the look and that plaid cover is a major WANT but trying to curtail my spending right now. My little daily journaling I've been doing on Project Life cards and keeping that in my annual scrapbook(s). Someday I will succumb I am certain!! At least in some fashion!!!
I love the way you said YET lol ; ) oh that is nice using PL cards. I would definitely try the faux route to see if you like it first, that way you can at least justify the spend ; )
Yeah you have joined the hobonichi love :) I love doing mine and I just got my son started on a fauxbonichi. Love the video keep them coming! I would love to see how your hobonichi journy goes!! OMG I ordered one of your foxes pencil cases and I cant wait to get it! I am in Canada though so it will take awhile lol :)
thanks for your thoughts, even i am on the fence about buying a hobo, i do have the Miquel Rius and i use it for work, love the doodling and i do that everywhere, and i cant justify the spending for the hobo, i am thinking that i may order the pages and print on them for my filofax
I think this is a great solution to your dilemma of whether or not to get the Hobonichi. I had an order made with Hobonichi but in the end, I cancelled it because I decided I could do the same style of journalling in my Midori. (And then I may have ordered a HappieDori from HappieScrappie so I could have a fun coloured midori, oops, oh well it's a lot less expensive) :)) Please keep showing your Fauxbonichi, your journalling style is fabulous!
I am loving it and definitely happy with the choice, maybe one day I will treat myself but at least the faux way makes the pennies stretch further. The happiedori is so pretty you will love working in it x
Anna, I so agree with this video! I must admit I jumped on the bandwagon. I've done 2 Hobonichi vids this past summer, if you want to check them out. I usually don't journal daily so the set-up in the Hobo wasn't exactly what I was looking for. BUT, I love the book itself. I JUST won a giveaway and received the MiquelRius book like yours. I think I will try to start my nature journal in it (before the snow flys!) I'll also do a book review on "Keeping a Nature Journal". TFS! Aimee :)
oooh I think I must have missed those but I am very behind on all my subscriptions. I so want to know more about your nature journalling so can't wait for that as a nature journal really appeals to me and I love to look at the on Pinterest x
I bought the same one but here in the States it's avail. at Barnes and Noble for less than 10 bucks. I was inspired to do a Faubonichi based on Ms. Vickie Bee's video but since I am already using a planner and I don't like to go nuts on having to sinc both therefore I used it for my 365 List for this yr. but I won't be doing the same set up for 2015 with the remaining pages bec I find that I have way too many empty spaces so I will just date it as I go along. TY Mrs. B for doing this video but just like you I can't justify the amount it's selling for. But I did find the best use for it. :)
I love my fauxbonichi!! I also include small pictures as well. It tells a great story. But I have to say that I am freaking out because my miquelrius is starting to come apart!!!! eeekk. At least the year is almost over
I'm doing my best to keep it together. As one page got fixed the ones next it it became a problem. BUT it's the end of the year and I can't wait to start a new one for 2015!!
I am the same as you and couldn't justify the cost and as it happens I bought the same journal as you! I haven't used watercolours but it looks like it is coping ok with them, I will have to try using them. I would love it if you shared more of your pages.
I love watching your videos :) I own a spiral bound zombie notebook with square ruled paper in it, but I have no idea what to do in it. Have you got any suggestions for what I could do in this square ruled notebook?
try some of the inktense watercolor pencils from I think its called Derwent. I probably spelled their name wrong. Goes on like a normal coloring pencil and add water and it is so vibrant and a little goes a long way. I have them and I love them.
I feel inspired to start one when I saw your video :) I've looked on Amazon for the note book but I can't find it :( do you have the link, please? I would love to buy one :)
I love the journal! I have one similar with lined paper but would LOVE one with grid paper! I have tried looking on Amazon but can't seem to find any like this. Does it have a particular name? Or should I be typing in a specific name into Amazon. Thanks :) x
I'm way in the dark, never heard of "Hobonichi" . I really like your journal though, the doodling is cute. Would love to see the process you do, when you doodle then watercolour.
Oh yes - process video would be great to watch! I am looking at starting to journal and the idea of decorative journaling appeals to me as I am a visual person. Just found your channel a few days ago; enjoying your videos and look forward to more great content. And...I'd probably be a faux-anything because I tend to be cheap! LOL Looking at following along in 2015 with Documented Life Project --- bought a "planner" that was 2 years old off Amazon for around $3 to use. Figure I can make my own numbers to actually match the dates.....
Late to the party we all know is fashionably late =) I wonder if they sell a faux one in the US. I have been looking for a scripture journal to help with my personal study, to help me keep track of key words and help me get more from my study. I want to get one for Scott too so we can study together. I know what you mean, creative in a simple quick way without having to commit to something huge and time consuming. maybe its just the fact that the hobinichi is freeing b/c it can be whatever you want it to be, it doesn't conform to just one idea of what it should be, its very flexible. Thats why i like it, b/c some will use it to be a planner, some will use it for journaling or doodling or notes, and i will use it for study and all those are ok! Theres no right way to use it and thats freeing in a way, the lack of conformity.
ha ha yes that is true, so fashionale daaaahhhhling. They do it is in Barnes and Noble called miquelrius so hope you find it, if not I could get you a paperchase one if you like but the shipping would probably cheaper your end from b and n. I think a lot of people use them for bible study or at least a daily journal, there must be loads on YT about it, have you looked?
how can i get ahold of that journal you have? is there something i should type into google to access the page? and also, can you do a flip through sometime? love your videos, i am a new subby,,,
Hiya, yes of course I will do a flip :D Here is the link to the book: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035XENMK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

Absolutely! :) it is such a great way to sum up your day in little bits. Might be a cool name... Little Bits journal LOL
I totally agree with you and I am actually loving this at the moment. I will always use my other journals for different things at different times but then that is why we do it and why it is fun isn't it :D
Yay, glad you found one that worked for you. I am looking forward to seeing more of it. Love your drawings!!
it is your fault, yours always looks such fun ; )
Welcome to the obsession!!! :-) It's so much fun!!!! Can't wait to see your flips!!
lol thank you x
Glad u joined the Hobo journal for journaling..to much fun and love ur pages!!! u used watercolors never thought of that gotta give that a try :) I do some videos on my channel but then again I'm a beginner art/journal per say TFS :)
I use watercolour in everything lol! I will come over and take a look x
I am doing a similar type of journaling in my Fauxdori! I've called it my 'Doodle Diary' planning to take it around with me, if I get time in the day I'll doodle things I can see or things I do, then colour it and write a bit later on in the day :) Lovely video!
ahhh doodle diary is nice x
Terrific video!!! Love the Journal myself!!!
Thank you x
Looks like you are a talented artist. Doodling/blogging is your own style anyway. Love to see more.
Glad you found what works for you :) it truly is relaxing to be able to reflect at the end of the day :) cute doodles btw!
yes definitely and I am really enjoying it x

Agreed, love experimenting and trying something new, sometimes it sticks sometimes it doesn't :D

I blame that Anna Brim she's started a flippin' trend now! xx
dinglydellification
ooops sorry lol!
I love how you made it work! I have a hobonichi but still love your journal :D The grid does makes everything goes together :P

I have indeed lol, I am really loving it at the moment and can see why others do and of course I will share. Oh you will love it, it is so cute xx
Love your blogs so interesting and I love your art work.
I just love your journal
Amazing what you can do with a notebook
LOL!!! I think alot about things too! Welcome to Fauxbonichi!!!! :)

Awww thank you x

Yes, and I'll Instagram it, too.

she is great isn't she, I do love her videos. I am not using mine as a planner just as a journal so I don't have to worrying about syncing up x
I love my fauxbonichi!! I also include small pictures as well. It tells a great story. But I have to say that I am freaking out because my miquelrius is starting to come apart!!!! eeekk. At least the year is almost over
oh no :( can you rebind it or stick it together
I'm doing my best to keep it together. As one page got fixed the ones next it it became a problem. BUT it's the end of the year and I can't wait to start a new one for 2015!!
For me it's the paper. As a long term fountain pen user, it's hard to find a planner that suits FPs quite as much as the Hobo.
I can totally understand that x
I am the same as you and couldn't justify the cost and as it happens I bought the same journal as you! I haven't used watercolours but it looks like it is coping ok with them, I will have to try using them. I would love it if you shared more of your pages.
yay we are journal twinsies lol of course I will share more, I will share watercolouring on them too x
Paperchase do the 300 page A5 and 300 page A6. Bought both today as I couldn't make up my mind.
lol that is a good plan x
I love watching your videos :) I own a spiral bound zombie notebook with square ruled paper in it, but I have no idea what to do in it. Have you got any suggestions for what I could do in this square ruled notebook?

I have some of those already and I have to say I am not a fan. I like pencils and I like watercolur but I don't like water colour pencils lol!
I feel inspired to start one when I saw your video :) I've looked on Amazon for the note book but I can't find it :( do you have the link, please? I would love to buy one :)
Anna! I love your channel!!! Weeeeee! :)
Lhey Ralston Thank you! I have just subbed to you too x
I love the journal! I have one similar with lined paper but would LOVE one with grid paper! I have tried looking on Amazon but can't seem to find any like this. Does it have a particular name? Or should I be typing in a specific name into Amazon. Thanks :) x
Hiya Liz, here is the direct link to this for you: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035XENMK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

I would always so go the faux route until you know whether you want to make the jump and spend more, I am all for the saving lol.
Late to the party we all know is fashionably late =) I wonder if they sell a faux one in the US. I haven't but I should! I didn't even think of it! I did look up B&N and its only 10 bucks here so i can go downtown to the store and pick one up!
Is the paper good quality then Anna? It holds up to being wet ok? :D
The paper is lovely and the water colour is absolutely fine x
Anna Brim That's very useful to know, thank you :) x
What make is it please? (old lady brain can't remember if you mentioned it or not, lol)
TwinkleToes2day
no worries it is the paperchase one but if you are in the states is the same book as the miquelrius one from Barnes and Noble
Anna Brim Thanks Anna (Y) I'm from Lancashire, but live in NE Scotland :D :D
Your Mother-in-law could get you a Hobonichi cover for your new 'fauxbonichi' maybe?
To be honest I still think it is expensive so I will just get another A5 cover :D
how can i get ahold of that journal you have? is there something i should type into google to access the page? and also, can you do a flip through sometime? love your videos, i am a new subby,,,
Hiya, yes of course I will do a flip :D Here is the link to the book: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035XENMK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00
Just fyi this is the same book as the miquelrius one from Barnes and Noble.
RhomanysRealm Thank you so much for the information i greatly appreciate it!!!
I'm doing it too !! Look up nancymaewi here on yt I love her flips. I also have a fb group for beginners just search on Facebook. Fauxbonichi
Thanks Cori for the shout out!! I just found your Facebook group! Looking forward to belonging to it!! :-)
Awesome, thanks for that Cori x
