Rock was so humble, honest, unpretentious, and naturally suave.
Rock was such a lovely man ,luckily we have all his wonderful movies and tv series that keep his memory alive.We can see his beautiful face and enjoy all his performances he created over his life time.

Hi Rock, I’m just watching ‘Lover, come back’ with you, Doris Day & Tony Randall. I’ve been meaning to watch it for ages but have been so frightened that it wouldn’t be as good as ‘Pillow Talk’ but 20 minutes in and of course it’s perfect. ‘Send me no flowers’ with the three of you again is next on my list and I’m sure that will be amazing too. Thanks so much for all the happiness you bring to us, you really were the best in the business.

I vaguely remember watching this back in 1984. Rock Hudson is a very interesting individual to listen to (some so-called stars are dull and boring to listen to) It would be interesting to see the full-length version of this interview ?
There aren’t enough Rock Hudson interviews.
Don't think he liked them. I heard he would deliberately tell stories to conceal who he really was, which was a homosexual. People should have just left her alone. Wasn't the best actor in the world, but yet you couldn't take your eyes off him.

Hudson looks really healthy here but sadly went into rapid decline shortly afterwards and died one year later in October 1985.
Just my thoughts
He likely had it around this time but it didn’t progress to aids yet.
Actually he looks gaunt and sick
I've just watched another interview of his less than a year after this and the difference is unbelievable... Aids worked fast in the 80s.

I really miss the Wogan show. We just don't have any good talk shows here in the UK anymore. Just Jonathon Dross, and that Norton fella, and their shows are only on for a 5 or 6 week run. Wogan was on 7 nights a week from 7.00pm to 7.30pm.What do we get now? Just miserable soaps, with aweful storylines. Bring back some decent tv. r.i.p Mr Wogan & Mr Hudson.
he was on 3x a week ( Mon, Wed, Fri) Just after a while it seemed like he was on every night!
He probably said to wogan before interview not to ask certain questions!
he kept his HIV diagnosis a secret until a few months after this interview so he could continue to work and travel.

@@jackbrown4120 he was diagnosed in June '84, three months before this interview, so yes he knew. It is said, at this time, that he was travelling around various European clinics to find a cure.

Sad to think that he could have survived just a few years later. He did well to keep his sexuality secret, no chance these days.

Hudson here is modifying everything he said and did: from the way he moved and the way he spoke; as he had stereotypical gay mannerisms and he took "lessons" to move and talk like a stereotypical straight man. And he is also had to be careful on what he was divulging in the interview...lying by omission, basically.
From what I heard he had very traditional mannerisms when he wasn't acting
