Me! I was raised on all this contemporary Christian music growing up in the 80s. When I saw his name it instantly all came back. I still remember all the words. I cried with him watching the SWU episode. He gave himself & his talent so freely to us, all while suffering from so much shame. 💔 I hope he knows what his music has meant to so many❤

After a vicious gang rape in 1982 and the church judging me for the crime that was perpetrated against me, it was this song....this song that got me through! It still drops me to my knees in praise and thanksgiving.....I will praise Him!

Cynthia Ashley The fucking church is ridiculous...that pisses me off. I'm an atheist...but I don't think believing in God or spirituality is wrong. The church though, is definitely wrong. They cause so much undue pain and suffering for so many.

I had a friend who was gang raped and it is horrible the way churches sometimes push people right back out the door, Cynthia. It happened to me as well when I was told I should stay with my abusive ex-husband and fled from him. I was not welcome in the church because I left my husband.
Thankfully...God heals all wounds and thank God you looked to Him (Who loves you and is perfect) rather than the church (people) for healing. Through Jesus Christ God surely heals us!

Cynthia, I am sorry that happened to you...they victimized the victim ....they should have circled around you and I ask forgiveness for what the Church sometimes does....I actually had a dream about this type of situation and what would I do as a Pastor.
I would circle the wagons and protect.....The Church today is not necessarily what the Church was supposed to be. There is a lot of history but there are those who are willing to love. I am so sorry

When God took our youngest daughter home at the age of 39, this song sung by Russ Taff, ministered to my heart like not other song. Knowing she was in His presence, helped me to praise even though it was the most painful time in my life.

I just wanted to respond to this quote although it was six years ago. edcasselles said' "He can't sing. He spends most of the song 'talking' the words and when he tries to sing, his tone is all over the place. Just goes to show the wonders that a modern studio can do for recordings. The first minute of the song he spends more time talking about Satan than the Lord. What's up with that?" Ed, it is obvious that he forgot the words........... did you ever do that? No, cause you probably only sing sitting in your bathtub not in front of recording cameras and with several hundred people listening and watching right in front of you. You obviously have little to no musical ability or you would know that Russ Taff has one of the most incredible vocal mechanisms given by God in modern times and it is amazing what he has done with it. By the way how many Grammys do YOU have. Let me guess. 0. Did I get it right. This was me being controlled by the way.

    • @DanteStar7
      @DanteStar7 9 років тому +7

He also sang the first verse in a different key than usual
and in the midst of the concert he started the verse melody line a third higher
because it felt wrong in his throat. He then freaked and forgot the words. Now,
the case can be closed and Russ T. still stands as one of the greatest vocalist
in the history of the modern church. Deal with it “Jealous Ed.” Do you even sing, Ed? Throw some of it out here and let's have a listen. I just get fed up with people with lesser talent criticizing the real deal. I'm done now.

the great thing about singing and praising the lord is -
when the person singing has the anointing -
they do not have to be the best singer
the do not necessarily have to be in tune -
God will use that person's obedience and
      their praise/worship
      to touch his people
and to reach the lost -
      .
see these two lines from the song -
1 - Praise the Lord, He will work through those who praise Him
2 - Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise"
      .
it's too bad that "edcasselles" missed it....
      .

Doesn't it also say in Deut that is a woman is touched while bleeding then she is put to death? and the man to be punished? Do you follow that as well? How many women have you put to death because of that? BTW, pants weren't invented until way after Christ died on the cross. Jesus died for our sins so we wouldn't have to continue to make sacrifices and go by the Old Testament. The New Testament is the law of God that we go by. Men didn't wear pants during the time that the Bible was prophesized
