  • In this episode, we dive deep into the extensive restoration of Bill's custom Porsche 930. When we first test drove the car, it was clear that this build needed a lot of love. The engine barely pushed 100 horsepower, the transmission was in poor shape, the suspension was loose, and the brakes were questionable at best.
Upon full disassembly, the real challenges began to surface. We discovered that the body had signs of significant past accidents. After stripping the car to bare metal, the truth was undeniable-the left door post had been severely damaged, pushing the roof up and over by an inch, leaving the car with a "banana" shape.
This meant a long and difficult road to recovery. We had to remove and replace the left side of the frame completely, pull the body square, align the B-pillars, and straighten the body structure. Both quarter panels needed replacement to restore the car's integrity.
Now, after extensive frame and body repairs, the car is in Santana's paint booth, receiving a stunning transformation. The jambs are getting a fresh coat of Grand Prix White, while the underside, front trunk, and engine compartment are finished in a sleek Satin Slate Gray Porsche paint.
Next up, Mike Santana will apply about 4 ½ coats of show clear to the body. The car will then bask in the hot California sun for 10 days, allowing the clear coat to shrink as much as possible. After this, the clear will be block sanded, followed by another 4 coats of clear for that deep, glossy finish.
Our color sanding specialist, Serafin, will then finish the paint after another 10-14 days of curing under the sun. He’ll open the clear coat with 1000 grit wet sandpaper, ensuring that the solvents escape properly, resulting in a flawless finish.
Join us on this incredible journey as we bring this iconic Porsche 930 back to life!

Great video…looking forward to the next one. One question: any footage you can share on the accident damage on b pilar and roof. Interested to see what this looked like pre repair
