- In the first of eight episodes of Porsche Road Trip (Cars Unknown), John Polnik takes us on a journey through the streets of Los Angeles, where classic Porsches are more than just cars-they're a way of life. Like a well-aged wine, LA's car culture is rich, complex, and full of stories waiting to be told.
John kicks off his adventure with a visit to Adam Carolla, a comedian who knows his way around a punchline as well as a race track. Together, they explore the intersection of humor and horsepower. Next, John meets up with Kevin Hunter, the charismatic frontman of an iconic 80's band, who shares his own tale of obsession with these timeless machines. Along the way, John dives deep into the roads, the history, and the people who make LA's classic Porsche scene so vibrant, including the rising tide of women who are carving out their own space in this traditionally male-dominated world.
Join us as we navigate the streets, stories, and souls that make LA a mecca for Porsche enthusiasts. This isn't just about cars-it's about a culture, a community, and a connection to the past that's as enduring as the machines themselves.

A ton of work went into this video and it shows. Congrats JP.

Fantastic video

Wow, great video. Hope to see more!

So relatable
Nice JP! Really enjoyed!
Thanks! Seven more to come in the series.
Very well done. 👍
Thank you! How did you hear about the show?
I like the way the Professor thinks.
He is the sage of our time and place in the universe.
JP. That was really high quality. Thank you and catch you Wednesday.
There are 7 more in this series to come!
@@carsunknown Looking forward to them.
Hey, I watched episode #2 first, 100% hooked. Episode 1, great too. You are really good at presenting this. I love it. Your line about there’s only one season (in LA) and it’s driving season is so true. I used to live in San Diego, now Boston. I miss that one season!! A lot of cool content exists. Yours is excellent. I’ve watched it all, I know. Cheers!! Let’s go brother!
Great stuff! Almost looking for flights to California, the Autobahn isn't that much fun anymore... Greetings from good old Düsseldorf
Let us know if you make it over here and look for seven more episodes in the Road Trip.
great video
Thanks! Seven more on the way so make sure you subscribe.
Adam Corolla’s story is sooo much inspiration. I myself am a carpenter by day, I either work on carpentry related side projects in my shop by night, or I’m turning wrenches on any of my own vehicles. It’s just always more and more projects.
It never ends, but that's part of the fun. If you like this one, there are seven more to come in this series.
Nerd in a Porsche!😁
Adam is great =)
He's a real car guy!
I live in Vegas, love Porsches,do you have a group of enthusiasts, doing trips ?
I'd like to join if that's ok.
I've owned dozens and race them as well.
Great job, I enjoy all your episodes.
Check out @carsundkaffee on IG. We do a Porsche show the last Sunday of every month in the Arts District. You'll meet your people there.
JP! This came out so well. Great job!!! Such good times 💖 mc
So glad you finally got to see it! Please share it around.
Amazing video! Really love the LA car scene! 12:30 min is that the Angeles Crest highway?
Thats "The Snake" on Mulholland Drive.
I would tell Blue Goose Guy that the car would be a lot more fun to drive, especially in the twisties, with a limited slip differential. You would wear out the rear tires a lot faster, though.
As the original owner of a 1973 914 2.0 litre did I ever enjoy this production. Yes the car is still original and a little patina.
That's awesome! We've got some teener love coming for you in the next episode. Plus make sure you check out our film about a 2.0 914 and its owner that we published back in 2017 called The Graduate. You'll have to dig a bid on our page, but it's there.
JP we need to do a road trip video. I have a theory that I want to test.
Let's do it!
How do I get into that LA club?!
Let us know when you find out. We'd like to join too.
Like the new series John. Loved the Blue Goose! Have to say this did remind me of just how unfunny Adam Carolla is though. How that man actually made money doing stand up is truly baffling. Serial killers? Seriously?
Glad you like the show. It's actually not new. It originally aired on Pluto TV back in 2021 for about a year. We're just now sharing it on UA-cam.
Thanks for the lesson at the end. It's def not creepy when feminist dudes try to shoehorn women into their favorite hobbies. No normal person wants that. I mean great, if they get a car and want to drive, but this weird frothing at the mouth to figure out a way to get them involved in everything historically a dudes thing, is super weird and sus. Way to ruin a video about people and their cars (men and women) with a hall monitor wagging of the finger. Goofball stuff.
Thank you! We just treat everyone the way we'd like to be treaded, with respect.
@@carsunknown I just showed this to my wife who deals with my garage. Even she thinks this take is creepy. Knock it off, weirdo. It comes off as predatory.
@@JM4300she thinks treating people with respect is creepy?
Man that intro music was bad. Really bad. And not bad as in good, but bad as I had to mute it. Yikes
Thats an original track by Sir Mix A Lot, and we're very proud that he gave us permission to use his music.
