a big help would to measure your head with one of those flexible tape measures and then add an extra 1/2 inch to an inch and then chain that. of course not everyone uses inches like the U.S. does so use whatever measuring system you use. hope it helps cause it sure helped me

This is such a lovely project! I've been wearing my crochet cat ear hat to death these past few weeks cuz it's been so cold out, so this should make a great addition to the collection 😄 I gotta say, in all my 8 years of crocheting, I haven't seen anyone decrease like that, but I suppose that would make sense (and it would probably save me some yarn too ngl, every yard counts!) so I'll definitely test it out. Keep doing what you do! It always warms my heart to see younger folks be so creative 💜🙏

Love this hat so much, I almost started to slip stitch the sides together and im glad I didn't cause the measurements don't fit my head, phat ass head I guess LOL but yeah for anyone out there with a magnum chrome dome like me who don't have a measuring tape, just wrap a piece of yarn around your forehead area and snip it where it meets and u can use that as a measuring tool for how many rows u gotta crochet! Also helps cause u don't gotta count as much lol

Absolutely in love with the finished product! Thank you SO MUCH! I am in utter love and want to make a million more in every color combination possible!
I'm just starting mine and I'm using black and white! This would look great with a pair of matching gloves. I'm also adding a big star on the ears and two on my gloves! Love it!!!!
I really love this tutorial! I'm a semi-beginner and I was able to complete this in a day :) I used a different pattern for the hat that was based on my head measurements and what would fit me personally best, since it's not usually one size fits all and I wasn't sure what hook size you were using, however I did follow your pattern for the ears :). I used a 5mm hook and the yarn I used was just a weight 4 Caron 1lb (yes, a whole POUND of yarn lol) skein I found at michaels. I've done arumigumi before so thankfully the magic circle and crocheting in the round weren't any new concepts to me! Thank you so much for posting this, I absolutely love the hat!
If you like the knit look of the “V”s that go up the sides then I recommend replacing the back loop single crochets with a back loop half double crochet-slip stitch. It’s the same as normal half double crochet but instead of yarning over and pulling through three you take the third loop and pull it through the back 2, it keeps the little Vs all the way to the end for a cleaner look
thank you so much! i'm going to a meet & greet with one of my favorite artists and he loves stuff like this but i didn't wanna just buy him smth yknow? so i'm so happy you uploaded this!
Hey, I'm a lil' new to your channel and I love it!🥰🥰🥰 I've been trying for years to get my daughter into the yarn life, but she always thought it was too "old lady." Since watching you, she's actually started working on this hat!! She's even talked about doing all of the patterns you've shown so far😄🤗 Thank you for making me cool! I love seeing the next generation of yarn heads taking this and making it their own❤
So awesome!!! I made one. And my mom loved it!!! I put the safety-pins on the ears so it kinda looks like the pins are holding the ears. ☺️ I love it. Thank you! I’ll only be making these for people now 😂 specially for all the NewJeans Stan’s I know
It's been legit like a decade since I last crocheted anything if you ignore the one time during the lockdown when I wanted to start again just to find all my yarn already fell apart due to age.... Anyways today I bought myself some yarn after work and went to make this hat ^^ As of writing this I'm only a few rows into the work and it's great :3
Thank you for making this tutorial! 😍 I just hope that there's an exact measurements like in cm or inches, so that we can make it using a different yarn size. ❤️
Really easy tutorial to follow, however having stitch counts for the ears would be helpful. I was very confused about how many stitches i should have when ending a round. I followed another commenter’s advice and instead of a magic loop of 4 DC, I did a MR with 4sc and it turned out great. I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! with 5mm hook and the hat ended up way too small, I had to add 2 extra rows of each color. If I repeat this project I would probably add a few extra chains at the beginning as well as extra rows!
I made mine and it looks amazing!! I used another yarn size and modified the pattern by measuring how long and wide I wanted the ears, and it was very easy to follow as I’m a beginner!! I’m already picking up yarn to make one for my friend 😊 thanks for the tutorial, it was very easy to follow and you explain in so well!! ❤
Thank you for sharing!! I came for the bunny ear pattern and you made it easy to understand. Since i was using chunky blanket yarn, i incorporated a chain 1 or 2 with each row since my anxiety couldn't handle working in jointless rounds. They still came out great tho :)
I tried this pattern and loved it I think the only thing that tripped me up was the ch2 In the first part because it left me with a gap but I think that’s more on my skills than the pattern, but I absolutely love this because I couldn’t find it anywhere else
You are so pretty! i'm making one of these rn thank you so much for the video! Edit: i finished my hat, but the one side had more color than the other because of some differences in the yarn, but overall, it turned out cute!
thank you so much!!!!!!! im a beginner now but after a few projects i have planned i will definitely make this 🥰 even tho im almost a complete beginner your video was very understandable and helpful!!
I just found your channel and you do very good crochet and knitting work. I've been crocheting for a year and I enjoy watching tutorials on youTube. I also want to learn how to knit and I've been watching different tutorials. Do you think you could do more crochet and knitting videos I love your work!❤❤
Hi, I hope you got better quickly! As a suggestion, could you also please list the amount of yarn you used in the description as well as the weight/size of the yarn? Thank you for the tutorial! I am a beginner and hope I can do it! :D
Honestly, about a skein of yarn will do the job! and you can use any weight of yarn! but make sure you are using the correct hook for the yarn and good luck!
if you increase the middle part by about 10x, you could use the ears as a make-shift scarf and it still looks good.🥰 cute even if you make a mini one for a child like a did😍
I'm kinda new to crocheting and i made a hat following your tutorial and i love it! and i dont know a lot about the copyright stuff about crocheting and i was wondering if it would be possible if i sold the hats that i make? I will credit you for sure for the pattern. Amazing and easy to follow tutorial!
I’m so glad I trusted my gut and came back here after thinking my rows looked a bit short. 13 rows into the first half of the hat so I’m glad I don’t have a lot to unravel but it will still be painful haha
tutorial is very refreshing compared to others i've seen, also love the animal crossing music. going to attempt the beanie for a friend, fingers crossed.
Definitely going to be something I try again! The beanie part was way too small for my head, so I think I’ll try a similar pattern w custom measurements next time! I’m excited to give it another shot :P
hey, kinda weird ques, sorry for asking, hope u don't mind. how big is your head roughly and how many rows did you do on try number two ? trynna make this as a present and i'm pretty positive the video shown measurements are too small also
@@venz3965 no worries! my head is roughly 22 inches (~56 cm). For other beanie patterns i’ve usually chained 70-80 for the diameter and it worked out pretty well! my best advice for this pattern is to use a different beanie pattern, come back to this video and make the ears. it’s all up to preference though!
Hi babe, i love this, im from Colombia and this is exactly what i needed. Could you please tell me the how long in CM were your 34 stitches? im using a different yarn so doesnt work the same. I'd really appreciatte this. Love your viddddd
are we the same person?? multi media black artists?? I love this piece. Im happy i found it right after my friend asked if I could make her one of these for her birthday haha
I’ve been crocheting for nearly three years and this year was my first year doing clothing pieces. This type of beanie is one of the first things I made without even seeing and knowing who hookercorner is (my inspiration was clothing I had seen a few years ago from hot topic and underground clothing brands my bf had shown me). While it is good to support a local artist and give credit where credit is due, I don’t fully agree with the whole “controversy” behind this video. As I stated I easily made a hat similar, but with cat ears by watching a basic beanie hat tutorial on UA-cam and then using a different pattern I had for cat ears from a pattern I purchased. I do however believe that an @ of some kind should be given to hookercorner, on the other hand I also believe that comparing another artist to a large corporate company like shein (which is known for stealing designs) is disingenuous towards the artist. At the end of the day we as a community of fiber artists should try to keep others who are interested in crochet (or do crochet already) informed of where the original designs/idea came from, and it will always be a moral decision on the person who is crocheting the piece on whether they choose to use a video like this to get an idea of how to make the piece or using the pattern that hookercorner has on her Etsy store and supporting the small business. Also this is just my opinion and take on the subject after so many years of crocheting mainly amigurumi and seeing the same things occur with patterns on that side of the crochet community. If you crochet or are a beginner at crochet just be well informed on the patterns you purchase, the Etsy/Ravelry stores you purchase from, and the UA-cam videos you watch to create pieces!
@Sky-ln9pu it's not so much thay she did a bad job explaining, it's just really hard because the stitches are so hard to see and get into when we're working on a magic circle that only had 4 dcs imo
Instead of the 4 DC I did 8.....so I pretty much took off the first 2 rounds... magic ring chain 2 then put 8 dc into magic ring pull magic ring closed and follow the rest of the pattern from where she has 8 dc
@@shaylastillman3666i’m gonna try this because the tip of my ear is so pointy… maybe doing 8 instead of 4 to start off will help. okay i redid it starting with 8 dc instead of 4 and it looks a lot better

Thanks a lot, i'm a beginner in crochet and it helped me so much!!^^and thanks for the Video:3
Omg I tried doing the ear for at least a good hour. Frogged many times.
Thank you for this. My ear turned out finally. I should have read comments the first time I frogged lol
@@BLUEWAVE2024-k4fdid your ears end up kind of pointed at the bottom? Because I’ve followed these directions and the video a few times and my ear bottoms don’t look like the ones’ in the video😅
Just finished one but with black instead and it’s sooo cuuute!!! Thank you for this tutorial!

When you chain for the beanie make sure it’s 24 cm long! ( I apologize for not stating that in the video )
Also I’m sorry this video isn’t super detailed or as clear I did not expect this video to blow up as much as it is and plus I had a cold while filming and editing! Sorry 😞 but most of you have been so nice and supportive so thank you

R1: ML + DC 4 into the loop
* Pull string to close loop
*Tip: Video says chain 2 and then 4 DC, but if you do that you will have holes, which would make R2 SC4 weird. So I skipped the first 2 chain like some other ppl said in this comment section.
R2: SC 4
* Tip: flatten the shape into a triangle like piece on both sides and loosen the stitches while crocheting to make a nice ear tip ( took me 8 tries to realise this)
*Place stitch marker in 1st stitch
R3: DC INC around
* Double crochet twice into same stitch
R4: SC around 😃 10
* Turn work inside out, work from the outside
R5: DC INC around
R6: SC around
R7: DC around
*normal, not increase, go into each stitch once only
R8: SC around
R9: DC 2 then increase
*increase after every 2 stitches
R10:SC around
R11-R21: 5 normal DC + 5 SC
(DC>SC, alternate)
R22: DC 3 + Decrease (see 11:38)
*decrease after every 3 DCs
R23: normal DC around
R24: DC 2 + Decrease
R25: normal DC around
R26: DC + Decrease
R27-R31: Alternate SC DC SC DC SC

Absolutely in love with the finished product! Thank you SO MUCH! I am in utter love and want to make a million more in every color combination possible!
I'm DEFINITELY gonna try this once I get the yarn colors I need. I might even turn it into a bunny ski mask 🥰
Using this tutorial to give my headphones bunny ears. Thank you!!
this tutorial was so easy to follow, and quick to finish! took me less than a day, and i’m in love with my new beanie! thank you for the video!! 💗

This is the cutest thing !! I cant believe i just found your channel im loving the vibes already

No, because when she said the single crochets was the top of the beanie, I literally gasped it’s such a smart idea that I’ve never thought of 😂😂😂
i’ve been looking all over for a tuto for this omg thank youuuu
Thank you for sharing!! I came for the bunny ear pattern and you made it easy to understand. Since i was using chunky blanket yarn, i incorporated a chain 1 or 2 with each row since my anxiety couldn't handle working in jointless rounds. They still came out great tho :)
I love this pattern so much, but I just wanted to let you know that Hookercorner does have a buyable pattern for these hats
the editing of this video is so cute 😭😭
I tried this pattern and loved it I think the only thing that tripped me up was the ch2 In the first part because it left me with a gap but I think that’s more on my skills than the pattern, but I absolutely love this because I couldn’t find it anywhere else
I love the way you're explaining things it's so adorable
You are so pretty! i'm making one of these rn thank you so much for the video! Edit: i finished my hat, but the one side had more color than the other because of some differences in the yarn, but overall, it turned out cute!
IM OBSESSED WITH THIS ITS SO CUTEE! I had to improvise on the ears because I didn't have enough yarn, but it still looks SO GOOD!!

It's size 4 yarn. The "normal"
This is what brought me back into crochet 🙏 thanks

You are adorable, this is amazing, thank you so much I can’t wait to make one for my best friends daughter.
is she a kid? I'd like to make this for my 8 year old niece but idk what to change in the pattern so it fits her

I believe you just showed me my daughter's favorite hat❤
are we the same person?? multi media black artists?? I love this piece. Im happy i found it right after my friend asked if I could make her one of these for her birthday haha
Love this pattern, trying it. Had to add more on the beanie, I have a bigger head. Still need to make the ears
This tutorial looks easier and its well explained ❤
I literally don’t understand the ears part and I’m getting frustrated with the start of it
same here!!
Yeah she does a terrible job explaining the ear
