- Greatswords are a type of Weapon in Elden Ring. Greatswords are capable of inflicting a massive amounts of damage, but sacrifice mobility, making the player vulnerable and open to enemy and boss attacks if they are not careful. High risk, high reward is the name of the game with these Weapons, but they can pancake many enemies, allowing you to finish them off unscathed. Greatswords can make use of most Ashes of War, so you should experiment with different ones and see what you like.

The claymore is the best greatsword because it's the only greatsword that has a normal trust attack. I can't even begin to explain how useful that thrust is.
Both r2 and the two-handing crouch pokes are so good, makes it hard to use other greatswords.

It also does the artorias slash by default so easily clears every basic bitch stamp upward slash
I also like the flamberge, claymore and bastard sword. Classic Fromsoft weapons that don't look horrendous.
Exactly, they look great. I am a simple man when it comes to weapon and armor design. It should look at least somewhat realistic.
That's the only problem I have with this game.

Flameberge is one of my all time favorites. My ONLY complaint, I wish it was a little bit longer.

A video about weapons that have sheaths only would be awesome, I feel like they really bring the look together, I love the sheath of lord sworn greatsword, but I know all weapons don't have them which is a bummer but I also am curious to how many weapons do have a sheath, I love your content btw

Sword of Milos also regenerates fp on kills. I powerstance it with Blasphemous Blade, basically never need to use flasks when clearing dungeons and stuff.

Great picks. Greatswords are typically as big as i like to go, and these are my favorites. Course i also like to run a quality build, so that makes sense.
Good choice! I also am not a big fan of colossal weapons. Sometimes i can enjoy them, but they are almost never my go to.
Claymore is always gonna be my favourite, it’s my favourite in all the games lmao.

The only problem I have with the video is you didn't infuse the weapons with the Quality infusion. All the scalings change so the standard scaling isn't really relevant

I'm dual wielding flamberges on occult affinities arcane build. Super powerful. Jump attacks with black feathers and claw talisman one shot most enemies and I can burst down bosses with good blood loss proud on top of the huge damage of the swords. Banished knight pieces for hands, feet, and head (the hooded version looks great with the black feathers chest.)

You should have shown us the damage each of the weapons that can be ash of war customized can do since you have 80 strength and 80 dex you will get a large benefit from using quality infusion so something like the claymore might out damage the sword of milos

The lord sword great sword is amazing for blood build. It seem to have a very high multiplier. I got 6000 bleed hit in shadow of the erd tree.

Got my forked great sword off the Wolf Imp in Cliffbottom catacombs
Any of the Soldier enemies like soldiers of Godrick, Haligtree Soldiers, Leyndell Soldiers, Liurnian Soldiers, and Redmane Soldiers who use the Lordsworn's Greatsword will drop it.
Yeah, literally anyone that wields it has a chance to drop.
The claymore is my second favourite sword in the game under the longsword. Flamberge gets third place for me

Greatswords are my personal favorite. I got a Banished Knight G.Sword in the 1st castle and used it forever. Went to Double scythes after that... katanas with the bleed... never felt right tho. I don't like not staggering enemies. Went and got another BKGS and respect'd around it. Never felt better. Put a shield on my left and between power stancing them, going sword n' board or 2 handing my right BKGS with bloodhounds step on it, I've never felt better. Very versatile. Gotta admit tho, that Iron GreatSword looks pretty good with its scaling. Not in that area yet though. But when I get there, I just might make some upgrades. 👍
Just beat Melania with this setup last night. Only difference was Blasphemous Blade in my off-hand. It was getting too expensive upgrading with basic stones for both. I let my faith build friend borrow it and he just now gave it back. No bleed, Melania now done. Anything is possible if you keep trying and learning.

I’ve been using the Lordsworn’s Great sword since I’ve got it and I’ve nearly completed the game. 😅

It’s a boss weapon so you should keep using it
@@g33k_Tech I fully upgraded it to max and switched to the Iron Great-sword (Phy:149) which I also fully upgraded.
The stats were a bit better than the LordSworn’s Great-sword (Phy:136).
@@thegreatkrimpus6139 I switched to the Iron Greatsword and added a the “Seppuku” Ash Of War with bleed affinity for extra damage.
It got me through to the end of the game but unfortunately it sucks in pvp because everyone else uses those damn katanas so I can’t get a proper hit on anyone before they kill me. 😅

Its sad that qualiti needs high level Builds to work.
I wouldn't say it is necessary for them to work, just for them to work as well as some of the more specialized builds. I played my entire first playthrough as a strict quality build.
@@Dare_To_Game Sorry i need to ask, do you mean real quality so that weapons get an even scaling between dex and strentgh or pushed you both stats and are going with lets say a dex infusion?
Im a little konfused because some people say Quality build if they have a dex weapons and bost strength for the minimal damage boost.
@@GothmogSan In this context, i am using it very broadly to include weapons that work well with a quality build because they do not require Faith, INT, or Arcane. I'm not getting into the weeds so far as to break down how evenly they scale with dex and strength, just how well they scale total, with a quality stat loadout.
@@Dare_To_Game Ahh in old Souls games quality was (and is in elden ring) a infusion for weapons that make a weapon scale even with dex and strength, thats why i was confused

You can get them all in the game for free. I have a guide that shows the location of pretty much every single weapon in the game, and you can get multiples from New Game+

@@dominatusprimus5460 just ran it through mugen monkey, cool site by the way, and those stats came out to be level 200 with a wretch. Even the astrologer class, which was the worst for this build, was only level 211.

I understand you need some sponsors for the video but seriously no one should buy runes or items for elden ring. if you are looking for runes or gear there are people online who will drop everything for free.
It is true that you can find Reddit pages that contain many people who will drop you runes, armor, and weapons for free.
How does that work. People can drop items?and you can pick them up?

Nice cheat engine. Using a stat spread at level 200, that should cost at least 250 levels with no Soreseals, on top of then trying to get people to buy in game runes and items (All of which can be duped and obtained for FREE, in case anyone is seriously considering spending money)
Just saw someone else say something similar. Displays there are people who don't know what they are talking about, just trying to hate. Run the stat numbers through Mugen Monkey. They come up consistent for a number of different starting classes including wretch, which this build is, as a level 200 character. Should check yourself next time.

This build is not possible at level 200. This spread adds up to 252. He blatantly uses a cheat engine on his builds and then tries to scam people into buying FREE in game items with real money. Dude isn't even trying to hide it at this point.
Its not an attempt to scam anyone, it was an honest mistake. I play on PC, and regularly use mods, for experimentation, and for fun. I recorded several videos on an account that i had used mods on, without realizing the attribute points were screwed up. Instead of re recording and editing these videos, i uploaded them, and then included a correction in the pinned comment.
This video, however was not recorded on that account, because as soon as i realized the issue, i reverted to an old save to record future videos. You seem to be very upset about this, so i doubt this comment will calm you down, but its not really that big of a deal.

I have a quality dual wield build with 2 x Banished +25. Currently STR/DEX 60 and quality Banished is better than quality Iron. Banished has higher AR and it is lighter. What is this hype for the Iron Greatsword, am I missing something?
