Investigating the 24v Cummins - Intermittent ENGINE NOISE !! TRUST IN THE LORD ALWAYS

Starting up the 24 valve Cummins after hearing an engine sound when under load (clack-clack, clack-clack). Unable to replicate the sound in this video, but I know what I heard!

Verify oil pressure and send in an oil analysis. The factory gauge is just a switch/ light they decided to give an arm

Thanks Steve ! Thats what my local diesel shop said. They think its bottom end but want to do oil analysis to confirm.
...might be goin 12 valve sooner than I thought !

If the noise comes on under load, check your turbo. Check if anythings loose. If noise is only at idle, check flex plate, those break around the crankshaft bolts and not where it bolts to the torque converter. If you feel it is bottom end related, drain oil and check for metal shavings.

Disconnect the trans, slide it back and run it at different rpms and see if you still hear it.
