I wish airbnb would allow customers to take photos and post them because I find it contradictory between what is presented and then the reality.
Reading reviews. This is so, so important. I think it's even more important than the numerical rating. You may read the first 150 (or more) reviews before you find a golden nugget of information. It might be just what you needed to know to cross the property off your list or, just the opposite, pick it without hesitation over 10 other equally wonderful contenders. Take for example a 4.9 star (several hundred reviews) I crossed off my list. We were planning our stay in Key West. I was convinced I had found the perfect place for us. It wasn't until I read probably the 176th review that a guest mentioned that while everything about the host, the place, and the location was awesome, he cautioned that the bed, which was listed as a queen, was actually a double bed. That's a no-go for us. Since that review was almost 2 years old, I contacted the host. He confirmed that the bed was a double. Good to know.

Here's a money saving tip if your duration is flexible: 31 days are cheaper than 29 days, due to monthly discounts.
Another one: the search in reviews is buggy and sometimes misses words. You can't fully trust, so you still have to read all the reviews if you want to know all there is about the property.

same im pretty unsure are rooms shared with other guests?and how do i know which ones are shared i am trying to find one with a indoor bathtub/Jacuzzi that is just for me and my gf not shared?
@@alexp5343 I know this is late but you can select in requirements "entire place" which would mean it is private. Also read the reviews and descriptions, some may be bed and breakfasts which may sometimes mean the host lives in the same house along with other guests. Hope this helps!

Knowing ahead of time that my 13wk contracts can be pre-booked nationwide in advance & possibly have a discount tacked-on is AMAZING vs trying to find a hotel or traditionally renting an apartment monthly!!! 💖💖💖
great video and super tips for me to take on board as someone who's never used airbnb and wants to but felt abit nervous taking the plunge. Im from the uk and have been having ideas for a solo US trip in the near future and had thoughts of using a combo of hotels and airbnb's, depending on prices and locations. I'm looking at a 3-4 week trip, flying to seattle, then to washington, philly then end in new york, possibly for a week in each place. these search tips will definitely help me find a good place im sure.

I prefer booking.com. It opens up to more than airbnbs, also motels and hostels. I also love how it saves your reservations on it's app. I have noticed a considerable price point difference between booking.com and airbnb sites.

Good evening. My name is Charles and my wife and I live in Washington DC. I've never rented a air bnb, but your tips were awesome. I'm tired of a paying 500-700 a night for all inclusive resorts.

I want to talk about a shitty accommodation on Air Bnb I am trying to change out of. I am going on a cruise August 30th provided we are on the otherside of current events. But the goal would be to fly in a day beforehand and the hotel accommodations near LAX are cheap in rates but 3x as much adding the fees to the stay. So naturally that leads me to an Air Bnb. This will be my first time going on a cruise furthermore booking an Air Bnb, and I booked an accommodation that identifies as a bed and no breakfast but is a hostel. I booked a private room but the reviews after booking a month and a half ago look hostile. Dirty linens can be changed but ones that are recent that bothered me were "tell the host you do not want somebody squatting in your room when you check in", or "I checked in and someone was spread out across the bed", "bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a year", "15 people have to share one bathroom", "host answers the door shirtless and high", and so on. I am trying to change out of this for sure. I am trying to get in with a retired lady and her sister's place for a private room. They still bring breakfast to your room like in the old days. They see you off when you check out, they share their experiences, they even have a garden in their backyard. This accommodation would be $80 which 5 minutes from LAX and their great deal of hospitality even noted in 6 years of reviews is very light lodging fare. The current accommodation is $65 which is light near the west coast's largest airport but at the same time poor reviews. I wanted to ask if I could dispute with Air Bnb and if not, I guess I'll read deeper into reviews prior to booking. Best thing to do is to see what is not being said in bold print.
Check pictures for washing machine if you want one. Some will be coin machines in the apartment complex.

Excellent info. Thanks for the cleanliness 5 star tip. Reviews give me so much info. One thing i'm trying to find on youtube is how to save stays as I plan a trip. I haven't found any videos on this. I have stayed in about 6 Airbnbs. I know to do this: sign in, where, when, and basic filters. Then I click a heart if I like a place to be able to find it again. But how do I save it to stays I'm considering in a specific location. When I come back to a location all my filters are gone even my dates. Help please!
You just have to crest a title when you put the ❤️. Then in your saved it will be under your created title.

Thank you so much Kekoa! Three most memorable cities in general that we've been to? Gosh, that is so hard. In the states I'd have to say Portland (so many amazing hikes, day trips, etc.), Bozeman Montana or Big Sky (major spot for fishermen, outdoor enthusiasts, incredible hiking skiing and Yellowstone very close by), and St. George Utah is a GREAT hub to see Zion National Park (I've done the entire narrows hike and Angel's landing and both are incredible). Sadly a single vindictive low rating given by a very needy Airbnb guest can lose a host their superhost status so if you only choose accommodation with a superhost many many very very good hosts miss out and you miss out on excellent accommodation.

Most of the airbnb host has absolutely no experience in hospitality. Airbnb is the worst when it comes to cancellations. As a guest there is no help or support. Whatever issue you have will keep getting forwarded or passed on to another airbnb "ambassador"/representative who will have no records or history of the issue you 1st reported. & when you finally do speak to someone it'll take days or even weeks before you can be refunded your money back. I wish to god there was another alternative or company besides airbnb but for now i would highly recommend anyone to just book a room at a hotel/motel.
