Holy crap the droids are working overtime in these comments...
I appreciate the joke if no one else does. Thank you.👍

I always played Battlefront in third person. Actually... I thought that was the standard way to play it. I completely forgot it had a first person mode! Am I the only one?
No, I play this the same way you do
I don’t remember first person either lmao!
Can you play in the third person in this version? Tried it last night couldn’t figure it out. 🥴
@@jmw7951 Yes, you can.
1. Go to options
2. Highlight Game Options
3. Viewpoint; Toggle left or right to choose 1st Person or 3rd Person
@@evanstonbalce9588 unless you're playing bf1, then you just click the left stick
I remember getting Republic Commando and both Battlefronts on PC discs as a triple pack when I was a kid, these games are my childhood
I had this pack, my BF2 never wanted to work for some reason so i mostly played BF1 and RC
Its amazing how Switch makes you feel like you're right back to playing on a graphics card from 2004. Truly retro! I'd buy Republic Commandos like this, was my favorite game
The first person scopes are still 4:3😂
For Bf2 not the original
Nostalgia at its finest 👌 I remember playing this for hours as a kid with my brother and sister
FOR THE REPUBLIC!!!
So glad this is finally on a Nintendo system!
only took 20 years!
I remember that map at 2:30 i was holding out in one of those straw huts, slowly picking off the bad guys. Then i left to pick up ammo and finally got picked off, being the 1 resource left for my team.
Absolutely having a good time playing the collection I’ve mostly played a bit on handheld but will be playing on my TV tonight it’s gonna be even a much better experience.
I got this on switch cuz I needed a shooting game to play and Nintendo never had these kinda games
call of duty black ops 1 and 007 goldeneye on Wii with a controller with joy sticks, pro controller, were actually very nice, or GUN or 007 Nightfire on gamecube were great, n65 had some great shooting games too
@@duff0120 no I mean we never got any battlefront games for any Nintendo system
@@gmartines8511Elite squadron: 🗿
Black ops 2 should be on switch
it was on Wii u@@Jonny312.
Oh yeah this was well needed.
Gives me goosebumps. Ima buy this in 6 hours
I’ve been waiting for this game ever since aspyr started doing Star Wars games. One of my favorite games of all time on possiblly one of my favorite consoles of all time. Dreams do come true! ❤
I've been praying for this for ten years now.
NO ONE seems to be talking about this. But heads up!
BF1 is clearly a port of the PC version. BF2 is clearly a port of the console version.
Controls on BF2 are pretty great! Controls on BF1 are awful. There is unchangable aim acceleration always on in BF1, making it hard to aim and control your character.
You cannot invert the axis controls either. Often random flickering on various maps across both games.
Here’s something very weird and I wish had recorded. I was on my toes waiting for this to activate on switch and when it finally gave a message other than “This software is not available yet”, it had an update even though I already downloaded it. I was so greedy, I started the software without updating it. I played it for a bit and it was a little weird but I also figured that was my punishment for being impatient lol. But what I did notice is when I was changing my controls, there WAS an option to invert axis where the infantry control menus is! I didn’t get a chance to see if it was on other control units but it was there! Idk why they took it out…
I'm having an issue with splitscreen: it just says "Please Insert Controller" for player 2, even when I have two controllers paired to the console. Does anyone know why this is? Do both players need to have a Nintendo Online account even for offlline splitscreen play? It's breaking my heart since the whole reason I bought this game was to introduce my friends to classic Battlefront.
I need to get this. I've been a Star wars fan since I was in the first grade
I’m looking forward to playing this honestly when I do get my hands on it for switch it looks pretty epic and this will be my first experience with the games because I’ve never played the origin Star Wars battlefront games.
Imagine Battlefront collection getting so much good reception and sales so that they remaster Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron, the nearest to Battlefront III we can get oficially with proper controls.
We 100% need a remaster of Elite Squadron with modern controls. That game is sooooo good between going from ground to space. It's pretty great for a PSP game, but it's not so great for a DS game.
It's getting horrible reception. It's a broken mess now. I just played it for an hour or so & I want to see if I can get a refund. So many bugs & glitches. An absolute disaster of a launch.
Everyone would like what you said though for sure. The sales I'm sure have already been amazing but the game is sh*t now.
@AlwaysVotingMAGA What are you playing it on?
I've been playing on Switch and Og BF plays and looks pretty damn good aside from a few textures flickering and the rare audio distortion.
The online had some stutter but we did get into a good rhythm in the two games I played.
BF2 definitely needs some work. Audio issues for sure, had it crash on me due to tweaking settings. The game is also having issues with Ai running into walls.
Aside from that I'm happy with my purchase but keep in mind I bought it for OGBF to begin with.
@@AlwaysVotingMAGA really? In what platform are you playing it?
I'm honestly enjoying it on Switch (only battlefront 2) but I'm an offline enjoyer, I'm glad there is finally a button to swap between first/third person like on Pc, and my only problems are AI being dumb, but I believe it was the same dumb on original, I just have the feeling every original issues are carried over.
Have seen online has been getting lot of troubles on release which is sad.
@@ggary04
I'm on PS5. And SWBF2 is in a much worse shape than SWBF1. The aiming/controls are disgusting & horrible. The maximum 10 sensitivity makes the aim barely move at all so that alone makes it unplayable for me. Nothing at all like the original games.
There's major audio issues also, yeah. I saw a video where there was an extremely loud bang sound that probably makes people deaf.
The aim assist & auto-aim was also horrible. It locked on to enemies that I wasn't even aiming at.
The hitboxes & hit registration was probably the worst ever. There's been many videos of people shooting enemies in the chest numerous times & not damaging them. And that's also in offline single player. Had this happen to me also like all these issues.
The game is worse in every way than the originals.
My gripes in presentation is the lack of movie cutscene clips that went along before playing some levels and the altered loading sounds sounding off.
Edit: Thankfully I was wrong with the lack of movie cutscenes. They are in it.
is there no way to toggle between 3rd and 1st person in game? Seems like it should be a given
So is the performance good then?
Because thats really all i need to know. Its why i havent bought the Arkham collection yet (dunno if its been fixed), i just wanna play campaign, galactic conquest and all that stuff on the switch.
it runs at 60 fps
@@muskrat1239 Even in handheld?
@@supervegito2277 yes
Played the PSP version of BF2. Can't wait to get the Classic Collection on Switch!
5:58 - Ki-Adi-Mundi's missing sound clips glitch is still present in this port, across all platforms. Funny since there was a character trailer for this port in which reproduce one of Ki-Adi-Mundi's voice clips present in the game files. Lol.
I love these games and think they are honestly better than the newer reboot ones.
I honestly preferred the space battle maps
33GB on Switch is so dumb
Agreed, like where did it all go? It looks virtually the same with some new graphical glitches here and there.
I agree. Literally bought a micro sd just for this game. No idea why it's that huge.
@@DefectiveButchr My guess is because it's two games both got resolution and frame rate upgrades. Also they added extra content.
@randomvideos786 I mean, the ogs on Steam can both run at 1080p60 and combined, both come up to like 13gb. And I imagine a couple of bonus maps + characters with ps2 poly counts take up 3-4gb max. The issue is that the game files aren't compressed as people are discovering on Steam. The game on PC is 70Gb, which is not ok. There's no reason the game should be the same size as DOOM: Eternal on Switch or almost the same size as EA Battlefront II (2017). It's just ridiculous.
@@DefectiveButchr IMO they are good enough games to justify it.
I think Switch will be the main platform I use to play this. It's the perfect console for a game like this either on the go or just not wanting to sit in front of a tv or monitor all the time.
How are servers?
Planning to get this on switch but im concern about not having someone to play with in multi. Hows the multi in switch? Full lobbies?
My thoughts also
I said the same thing to myself then realized there are roughly around 100-140million switch users. So we might be good ?
I thought this too but I also thought it’d be great to have a mobile conquest mode on the go so screw it lol
Most of the lobbies I played in ended up being hero assault if that's your thing
@@chrisbrown113096But NSO stinks... Peer 2 peer, zero communication (not even basic messaging), can't send friend invites in most games, etc. so it's always a toss up playing online on Switch
No gyro aiming makes me sad.
Maybe they will patch it in later?
This gamer is STRUGGLING to aim. Strong aim assist but it looks like aiming is rough overall
same
I will like this video. Just like I did in the simulations
Does it have split screen on Switch?
yep
Rogue squadron 2&3 need remasters!
DON'T LET THEM KNOW I DON'T WANT THEM TO TOUCH THAT GAME AFTER WHAT THEY DID TO BATTLEFRONT
They should have gave this game to Retro Studios with the amazing work they did on Metroid Prime this could have been a whole new Call of Duty
Without the music I forgot how annoying Star Wars guns/cannons sound for long periods of time 😂
TAKE THAT BACK
Thanks for the video upload! I was genuinely curious how it looked and ran but it’s hard finding it without finding the ps5/xbox versions everywhere. Looks not as sharp, not as clean as the 4K output but that wouldn’t matter to me. I was stuck between Switch and ps5 but went ps5. I’ll most likely get the Switch too on the next sale.
Is this an online gameplay or the story mode?
Both
I liked it when pew.
so this game IS 60fps on Switch?
It is indeed! Played last night at launch.
@@AZTenor94is it 60fps on multiplayer tho? or just singleplayer like pc version
Yeah
@@tonizombie I think it has the same glitch as any other version, that the battlefront 2 multiplayer locks to 30fps when hosting
Does anyone know if these support cross-platform play?
They do not unfortunately
Just bought this and Dark Forces, they're better than ever
works fine on the switch but plays like shit on pc
Make a video about the controls because I suck
I adored this game when I visited a friend's place when I was younger. It was exciting to learn that I could get it on Switch...but not for fifty dollars (Ca d)! I could get both Battlefronts on Steam for twenty-five dollars collectively, and that's at full price. I'd prefer to play this game on console, but not yet; not while that price-tag is so ugly.
How do you even record on switch like this
Capture card like any other console
Is there a single story campaine with this game, or is it really multiplayer only??
All that footage is the campaign
Yes and no.
Both games have single player campaigns and things. But they are largely built out of multiplayer maps and assets with occasional special units and objectives. This feels a bit less bad than in other games because the whole premise is being a foot soldier in the big battles (at least to me).
Battlefront II in particular had a fairly iconic for the time storyline of cutscenes as boots on the ground from the clone/imperial perspective, but again the missions are largely converted from the standard battle maps seen in multiplayer.
The other notable local game mode was galactic conquest, which tied the regular battle maps into a coherent choose your own campaign as whichever faction you were playing as tried to win across the Galaxy.
As a teen when these originally released I found being a lone soldier even amongst the masses of AI compelling but tastes change.
Last note: At least some consoles/PC are report bugs around cutscenes etc. So I’d wait to see detailed reviews etc about the version you’re considering.
Wish I had the money to buy it now, how are the servers
Horrible played at 1 am this morning and it kept crashing or wouldn’t load me into a game
@@Peacen0beef could be because of all the ppl trying to play...though they should have 10 damn servers at least
What servers
I’m sorry I’m on Xbox, don’t think switch is having any problems
Will this game release physical copy?
I’m wondering the same thing. I checked out stores in-person and online but didn’t see a physical copy
@@evanstonbalce9588 maybe in the future? Lol. Because the size is more than 30gb. 😅
They took away the option to turn your controls inverted right after the first update a few hours after launch with an update
I can’t decide if I want to buy this on my switch or ps5. Decisions decisions
For me, it made more sense to go switch... there are fewer fun, large scale multiplayer shooters on switch, so I'll probably end up playing it more since there's less options available and the graphics and performance seem perfectly suited for the small hybrid handheld... but that's just how I made my purchase decision.
@@Honest_Grifter that’s all fair. I decided to go with switch since I have an OLED.
@Honest_Grifter My only gripe with it is the size. I see no difference graphically between the Switch versions and the OG PC versions, which, when combined, don't even come up to half of the Switch's file sizes.
it's gorgeuos on OLED @@PortableMediaReviews
@DefectiveButchr pero no los dos?
If people say the switch version sucks they must be blind.. they just say that because the switch isn’t powerful? So what??
The sound of lightsaber is too copyrighted?
No music? Star Wars is its music.
Glad that at least runs good on switch but no gyro support no buy from me. Thanks for sharing the video
Aspyr needs the keys to the old Star Wars games taken away from them.
Roger roger...
I love it idk why people are complaining
People are mostly complaining about online play everywhere. Offline mode is the highlight for me
Yeah, online play matters not to me
@@sarq6693 ohh lol I’m playing on my switch OLED I’m not having any issues at all for online they are fixing it slowly maybe
@sarq6693 is it fixed now?
Bro these games are meant to be played in third person.
I play them in first person because it's easier to aim for me.
Is this game couch co-op online?
Online is non-existent in this game, Ive seen no one online and the matches are 120 seconds long.
But no, I don't believe there is co-op online
Pretty annoyed that it doesn’t have the option to invert y axis. Makes it very difficult to play and is so simple to fix.
How in the world is this 30gb.
Like yea I wanna play these games again, but come on.
All is well now Nintendo, please add a third person perspective option to this please.
There is, just click on the left thumbstick or press the bottom d-pad
Wow. 😂
I can’t even play it because I can’t invert it and I’m not gonna just relearn how to play shooters
Is this definitely switch gameplay and not original PSP gameplay?
...These games don't have a PvE mode or anything do they? No idea if I'd go for this anyways after hearing all the bad news from this collection, though.
I only play offline it’s a great deal they have offline coop and solo offline PvE also got the campaigns. Game is a good deal on switch not on other consoles.
They have a story mode that's around 1-2 hours, then they have galactic conquest mode for PvE
No gyro = dealbreaker
Man, I missed 60 fps games... Hurry up Switch 2!
Huh? BF1 and BF2 are running at 60fps on switch.
@Mabifield That's what I'm saying, I missed this
Edit: Just re-read my comment, I get why it sounds like I was complaining 😅
It's that 60 fps 3rd party games are so few & far between, so seeing one again makes me excited for the prospect of Switch 2. I haven't played my Switch since Metroid Prime Remaster
What a joke, can’t even make a save file in galactic conquest due to a “save failed” bug. They even somehow screwed up the offline modes
Dude this is disgusting. I played in 2005-2006 on a 1 core 2ghz pc with 1 gb of ram & a 128 mb radeon processor & the visual image was perfectly crystal clear. this image is extremely soft.
For anyone wondering, this game is absolute trash.
The online matches are only 2 minutes long and so far I've seen a total of 7 people online, spread over 3 servers.
This game cannot be played online.
It’s so weird how everyone is having different experiences with this game. I started playing four days ago, when this comment was posted, and online worked perfectly for me. No stuttering, no bugs, there were lobbies with at least 20-50 people in them.
This doesn’t mean that the game is perfect, if people are still having problems while other people aren’t, that still means the game is broken, and I’m sorry to hear that.
This is one of the laziest remasters I've seen. Got a refund from Nintendo, first time I've ever asked for a refund. The online is busted, there are countless visual and audio bugs/inconsistencies, it's disappointing how these great games were treated by the publisher.
Battlefront II 2017 is TEN TIMES better compared to this old stuff 🙄
This has to be rage bait lol
Lol nope
The old games hold up quite well AND Battlefront II 2017 is a great modern version. It had a rough start with the loot boxes and at times I wish they kept some things from the classics, but I had so much fun playing it and the devs did a great job with the updates until 2020
@@ZekeLawl I think the graphics makes 2017 far more enjoyable then the original, more fun and modern. The og is a total snore fest, you can’t even open loot boxes which is a big con in my book
Because gfx and their old, petty reasons... We get it, you're petty, go back in your cave...
You guys got a responsibility to call this game out for its bull shit
