i made a threaded adjustable brace for open frame rails. it keeps the top of the frame rails from leaning in and bending when lifting. some of the trucks i towed had more frame behind the axles without cross members close. lots of different ways to do the rigging for sure.

Love the frame fork idea. If you do it look into the Iver Tool, would be interesting to see if you could front tow a newer truck with this setup.

Have you taken this on the highway and hit any big bumps in the road? I’m only asking because the gap between the rear frame and the bar looks like there is a lot of play. And could you grab this same truck from the front with this lift?

I tow with this truck every day. I’m out side sales for Peterbilt and Kenworth products. I’m currently traveling all 48 states showing off new products to dealers. I have been in some awful situations on and off road. From the paint where on plate it moves very little. Im at around 7,000 miles towing now. Love it.

You could from the front but you would demolish the bumper. Thats why we used to have slings. This is a modern twist on a very old system. Its fun to do, but I definitely enjoy having a standard hydraulic underlift and frame forks most days.

What type of insurance do you need to put this on my truck

I run just my regular insurance. I’m NOT FOR HIRE all the truck I move are mine. But I have a huge umbrella over it.
If you’re doing it for hire then you would be a “DRIVE AWAY”
      or a tow truck.

You supposed to use grade 80 or 100 chains . Grade 70 are not for lifting

I don’t think there was 4,500 lb on those chains each. 70 are good for 11,300 each. We are lifting the frame. Mostly leverage. 100 grade is only good for 15,000. Thanks for the info im not sure it’s worth it to upgrade.
