Kobo Libra Colour SleepCover Review - Pros & Cons

A pros and cons review of the Kobo Libra Colour SleepCover.
Note that as of May 21, 2024, Kobo produces 4 different covers & cases for the Kobo Libra Colour. At the time of this recording, the Basic SleepCover was not yet available and hence not mentioned in this video. The key differences are:
1) Kobo Libra Colour SleepCover: Only one that can prop up to read in different orientations, as shown in this video.
2) Kobo Libra Colour Notebook SleepCover: Has a place for the stylus to be stored inside the case.
3) Kobo Libra Colour Clear Case: A clear case for back protection only.
4) Kobo Libra Colour Basic SleepCover: Only one that has protection around all edges, front and back.

i find a cover defeats the purpose of the handheld device. its just more stuff to deal with. i put paperlike on the screen to protect it a bit and it improves the writing experience

Yup. It’s a personal choice for sure. I still think it holds better without the case if you are reading in bed for example. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks. I always buy a cover when I get these devices, and wondered what the Kobo was like. It's too thin for me so I'll go elsewhere for mine.

Hey thanks for the comment! It’s actually not that thin and does protect the device well, the only thing I didn’t like was that one of the edge is exposed so it’s not a complete coverage. Happy reading!

Yes, those are the cons for this SleepCover (also shown in the video). I wish it protected the full device. If you want full protection then I would recommend Kobo’s basic cover (it does not prop up though) or other 3rd party cases. Thanks for watching!
