  • Heath expressing his views on Brokeback mountain.
As a side note; The reporter at the beginning of the video is asking about how Heath Ledger felt about the opinions of those people who think the movie is disgusting, he is not expressing his own views. unfortunately i cut the video wrong, He’s probably a top bloke 😁

I have so much respect for him as a person. The fact that he, a straight male, in 2005 when there was very little representation, stood up for gay rights and understands the core of the argument. He was such a genuine soul and should be an example for people in this world. I hope straight men, even 20 years later, can take something from him. RIP Heath.

However, the two leads couldn't have had less chemistry (even other straight actors have done a better job), and I found myself cringing during the sex scene, which was neither romantic nor erotic. Homosexuals have no desire to create other homosexuals. Homophobes have a desire to create other homophobes. And they do that with homosexuals.
People who are not homosexual and aren't against it, just can't be bothered and will never become homophobes.
73% of homophobes (people who actively use their power to deny homosexuals their rights and freedoms) are estimated to have homosexual tendencies, and even come out later in life.

The thing about homosexuality, people always focus on sex. They never address the emotional component of two men in love which is no different to a man or woman in love, or two women. Nothing about it is unnatural, but again, people can only focus on sexual acts and the fact that nothing can be 'born' from gay relationships. People need to start seeing homosexuality more in line with the deepest bonds of friendship, instead of sex... and then nobody will be able to say it is unnatural.

About a week later i got new friends who where amazing and im still in contact with to this day but in my then new friend group i met a guy named adam. Adam also used to be pretty homophobic until he matured as he grew older but he was the one who actually made me realise i was bisexual. We have been in a relationship now for what feels like forever. We moved in with each other about 2 years ago now and were planning to get married! Honestly if it wasnt for this movie i would probably be in a horrible state right now and i cant even begin to imagine what further damage i could of coursed for the others around me. Sorry if this comment doesnt really make sense as im really bad with my words and i cant express how grateful i am for this movie and what an impact it had on my life.🙏
Edit: its only been a month since i wrote this comment but it was 2 days ago now where me and Adam went to Disney world where he proposed to me! Were going to plan out the wedding when we get back but we are chilling in Paris currently. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!

0:38 “At least voice your opinions on how two people should hate in violence and anger toward each other. Isn’t that more important?” // Still valid today.
