  • Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
  • If you can use a tape measure, grinder, chop saw, and can half ass weld you can fab these gutter mounts. They're extremely easy to make and pretty cheap. The materials you'll need is a piece of flat bar 2" wide, a piece of C-Channel, and a few grade 8 bolts and nuts. Thanks for watching and remember to LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!!

The market for roof racks is huge with so many brands but they all have one thing in common which is the high cost. The funny thing is that most of us can make these ourselves, and with some "basic" thinking, we can make it to suit our needs based on vehicle type and use. Your project is inspiring so thanks for making the video.

I started watching your videos years ago when I first bought my XJ, and this video always stuck in my mind. I finally got a start on my roof rack and used this video for help. I posted my video recently, check it out to see part 1. Its more of a flat deck style rack than a basket like yours. Thanks again for taking the time to post the video with details.

Smart thinking with using the C channel!
The only issue I can see is that these will likely damage the gutter as they basically crush it in, so for my car I may use something different to C channel as it has chrome trims on the gutter.

Hello. I know this video was posted a million years ago, but I wanted to ask; Would you mind making a set of those mounts? I'll pay you 50? Man if you could, I'd be very grateful. I was thinking if you made me a set, instead of welding em on, I would just drill a hole through them and my rack and bolt it on in six spots. If you'd be ok with that, please let me know. I'm leaving my number in a reply, below, for you to text and will take it down in a couple of days. Hopefully you'll see it on time. Thanks for your time.
