I’m going to try to make one with black steel threaded pipe, there’s 90 deg and tee joints available. Would like to go aluminum but I need the ability to weld custom brackets due to my Suzuki sidekick not having roof rack rails. The basket itself I’ll use aluminum, this video was very helpful

Wow good stuff. I’m ready to build a rack for my toy hauler. It’ll have a pull out at the rear for awning and bug screen. With the ramp level I’ll have a protected porch.
i have an fj cruiser with stock roof rack ( 2in aluminum tube ) i wanted to add some crossbars. are there any options for crossover clamps from 2 in to 3/4 emt conduit?

Hi there, you'd probably want to use an adjustable cross over clamp like these. 3/4" EMT is .922" OD so this might work for you. a.co/d/2t9VSFR
