    I tried your magic ring trick and this is only the second time I've ever gotten the magic ring to work with plush yarn. I think I'll be doing it your way from now on! Thank you! Also I made this little octo and it came out so cute!!

      that's amazing! I've always done my magic rings like that so I'm glad it works for you too! and if you check out my instagram, @_crochantelle_, I have a free ocTEApus pattern in case you wanted to try another kind of octopus!

      I alternate. I've noticed each skein can be different. Some I can use a magic ring just fine and others are impossible to I use the alt options. It's good to learn both.

      @@RudeOptics Yeah, I noticed that when I tried the magic ring with my orange chenille yarn. It was not having it, so I had to use the chain 2. But then again this orange yarn has been fighting me ever since I got it so maybe it's just a bad skein.

      When working the magic ring, especially with plushy yarn or even blanket yarn, always pull slowly and very gently. Sometimes I still have the yarn break, but not as often anymore.

    Great tutorial, easy to follow along with. I made a lavender one and added a flower to the side of her head for a nice touch. I will be making more for party favors for my grand daughters birthday party. Kids of all ages love em. 🥰

    Thanks for the pattern! My octopus looks cute. I had to re-do the tentacles, making treble crochet stitches instead of double crochet stitches, because otherwise they would be too short.

    So cute! What kind of yarn are you using? It has such a beautiful plushy/velvety texture.

      I was using parfait chunky yarn for this tutorial! I don't use it that much since it is thinner than what I am used to, but aside from that it works up really well!

    I’ve noticed some gas lighting with the crafts world… crochet is so old… free tutorials is a little????????? I mean too much to explain and ask… but free tutorial is ridiculous and I’m proficient I can see patterns … no need to read them…

    • @crochantelle
      @crochantelle  7 місяців тому +14

      I'm not gaslighting anyone? These videos are made for beginner crocheters who need the help of visual examples to make their plushies. I know that lots of crocheters only need to read a pattern or look at a plushie to know how to make it, but not everyone is at that point yet. As you said, you are proficient at crochet so this type of video is not meant for you

      What?!!! I wanted to learn crochet and I can't afford paying for classes or patterns right now, so these free tutorials are being very helpful. Maybe this is a craft that can help me make some extra money, so these tutorials are very important to people like me.

      I'm autistic and can read patterns and could probably look at a piece and figure it out but I've only gotten this far because of these video tutorials. Part of my learning deficit includes an audio visual need because reading patterns doesn't process in my brain very well. If I see it and read it I understand but just reading it is a massive issue for me.
      So fromme and many more nerodivergent learners.. thank you for these videos. I couldn't have gotten this far without them.

      @@dianadirubbo1904 ive noticed people ignore me really really, who would those people be? Not bullies, don't forget every time you hit reply its you choosing to engage. You must have copied so many patterns and passed them off as your own because everyone else would ignore me, LOL AND I was speaking out from the rubber band people hijacking crochet so it's ok your judgment of me is wrong.
