Reylo: A Complicated History

The Star Wars sequel trilogy mostly centred on the conflict and relationship between two characters: Rey and Kylo Ren. A scavenger nobody, and the son of Han and Leia. The question of this relationship is romantic has been asked multiple times since their first appearance in The Force Awakens, and in this video essay, I explain why it is.
This was a real labour of love, but it did push me, my voice, and my hardware to a bit of a limit. I’m sorry that my mic gave up on me a bit in the final section. I had to get really close to the mic and that led to some VERY loud “p” sounds.
I have to thank my good friend Doug for coming to my rescue and editing the Rise of Skywalker section, you may notice a significant improvement in visual gags when you get to that part.
EDIT: This video was copyright claimed by the BBC for my brief comparison to Doctor Who, accompanied by a 15 second clip. Because I wanted to continue to have this video visible and monetised, I trimmed out the section they had claimed. Because of this, there’s now a pretty awkward cut at the 4:29 mark. I don’t think it hurts the video TOO much, but it is a shame.
